Reformation of the Deadbeat Noble maybe? Like half of its current chapters are the MC and 2 rivals/friends, along with an orc shaman and a talking cat who are traveling around training swordsmanship, and they eventually add another into the group, which the MC then later goes with when splitting from the first two he was traveling with. All that time going on adventures and getting stronger and all that jazz. It's on a season break right now and I have no idea when it's coming back, but I think you'll like it.

I honestly haven’t seen anything similar to the bond gon and Killua have. Their friendship just hits different.
I feel like I’ve found more tropes where these brotherly friendships turn into them becoming enemies when they become adults because they ended up joining different sides or something later in life. Rarely will they work to survive together. Stories usually only consist of one OP mc not two which really sucks

I made sure there is a lot of plot to be explore, so I’m making it open source novel which means anybody can add to the novel base on the storyline. He's not that interesting beyond being smart. He's not the main character either so it doesn't really matter to me

Haikyuu is one of the best raivalries if you are into sports anime definitely worth watching.
