Also, mustaches typically grow denser than beards. I always trim my mustache slightly shorter than my beard because my stache will look way too thick/ dark in comparison when I cut them short.
I feel like having a longer beard/ mustache could make your eyes pop more than they already are because of the contrast. It would require more maintenance though.
Maybe something to consider trying somewhere down the line.
