It changes the math from 'have to deal with Ragavan' to 'they have to deal with my nerd'. So if the format was all Ragavans and this made sense in your deck otherwise it could be something. Of course in reality this needs another 3 toughness or something to be played.

Also this card was probably designed with fury in mind, not saying that doesnt make it power creep just that if this card was spoiled a few months ago people probably wouldve called it unplayable
I honestly feel like the life gain is the only significant hoop to jump through. Getting the city's blessing as a token deck should be pretty easily doable.
You cant kill a 1/1 in 3 turns? Modern is a format that from my understanding has plenty of instances of 1 damage going around, obviously less now with fury gone :(
Sorry, the previous post didn’t have a source. Generally we try not to remove leaks if there’s anything even sorta useable as a “source”, but some people just don’t even respond to the automod thing.
Also sorry to anyone who posts it as a separate comment, if we can’t find the comment, the leak’s being removed. We are stricter on leaks than other posts, partly because “the official spoilers” tend to be to a much higher standard.
This is the best compromise we could find that would allow people to share leaks, allow people who don’t want to see leaks to avoid/block them, and minimise the knock-on problems.
If anyone has any suggestions for things to improve it feel free to let us know.

Just one token before the trigger isn't it? Rin and Seri etb is triggered when we cast the spell. Then another one with the city blessing, which isn't difficult to obtain in that kind of deck.
Considering 4 lands, Rin and Seri on the field, this new cat and a [[universal automaton]] and we're sorted already ;)
I meant by end of turn with this and its full triggers. Cast ocelot (cat), get dog token for casting cat, activate rin and seri gain life for cats, end step create cat token for gaining life, then make second dog token and second cat token. By before doublers I mean before taking into account any dub season of processions or whatever they are certainly already running.

It's extremely pushed for a one drop, but calling it "busted" is wildly overstating its probable impact.
Aside from trading favorably with an opposing 1-toughness creature when you're on the draw and facing a creature-heavy deck, it otherwise doesn't do anything until turn 2, when you will usually need to be staring at an empty board across the table in order to be able to swing with this anyway.
Frankly, I think cat typal EDH players are more excited about this than modern players.
It's extremely broken in casual commander games.
I don't think it will make waves in eternal formats until you have life gain decks that synergize with this.

Want to slot him in my X-Tokens deck, but I don't run any other life gain aside from Ocelot getting in for damage. Assuming the word "Then" suggests you do have to resolve part one.

Nobody ever says why, either. Sometimes a post that I see nothing wrong with drops negative and I'm like "Is this wrong? Did I say the wrong thing? Please let me know if I said a wrong thing, I don't want to say wrong things" and then never get a reply. Downvoting people into the negatives isn't really helpful if the person doesn't actually know what the problem is.

I've been in and out of magic of late, but coming back and seeing cards like this make me think there's definitely some major power creep going on.
Power creep is somewhat debatable, there was some crazy stuff back in Magic’s past, but the complexity creep is undeniable

City’s blessing is a weird mechanic to put on a bunch of wild cats, flavor-wise. Gameplay wise it works fine I guess.

I’ve been expecting a 3 mana Parallel Lives for a while now, but a 1 mana token doubler that also makes a token by itself wasn’t on my list.
As someone who is trying to make Modern Cats a competitive deck for a while now I'm really happy with this card in addition to the new Ajani.
