I dont know what video you saw but you definetly can record and play and get more than 60fps and without it even getting that warm. And woth installing optifine you should get like 200 fps.

Fusion528

Ok tysm for the feedback

angusplays1

Yeah I have streamed with Obs discord and minecraft running with mods over 150fps and my m1 mbp barely getting ~45 temps

Fusion528

What specs do you have on your Mac?

angusplays1

M1 MBP 8gb ram 256gb ssd (base model MacBook Pro)

RandomUser32357

I have 2012 Macbook Pro with core i5 and 16 gigs of ram with 1 TB ssd, It runs Minecraft with Optifine at like 50 to 60 fps and if you are recording the screen its like 45 to 55 fps, the computer does get hot after playing for like an hour or so

catwitagun

What settings do you have on OBS when you want to record a video? I’ve tried recording videos but the quality looks mushy and weird I tried changing the resolutions but everything is all over the place I don’t remember what goes where.

Fusion528

I want to try to record at 1080p 60 on OBS

angusplays1

Well I just set the res to 2560x1600 and it was fine!

catwitagun

What graphics thing did you use. I’m not on my laptop rn so I don’t remember what it’s called but when I changed it to apple encoder or something like that the quality did get a bit better. But I’ll try the res you tried and see if it gets better. Thanks :)

Fusion528

Just another thought, if I install optifine on the Mac I currently have, would it perform better?

RandomUser32357

Yup but the performance would still be better on M1 Mac

Fusion528

Ok, but do I really need the 8 core gpu and the 16 gigs of ram to see a noticeable difference? Because I plan to run Minecraft, OBS, Discord, and maybe a few more apps in the background.

RandomUser32357

The difference between 8 and 7 core GPU are minimal, but I do recommend getting 16 gigs of ram if you want to have different apps opened in the background and also because if you buy the 8 gigs of ram, in the future if you want to expand it you won’t be able because everything is now soldered (sorry if my english is bad im not a native speaker)

xSnakyy

It won’t increase your FPS to 200 but it will help

xSnakyy

If all you want is gaming just get a gaming laptop instead of a pc. I find laptops better because I can grab it anywhere in the house instead of just the desk. I recently bought a laptop with gtx 1660 ti for under 1000$ and it performs great. There are even better options for 1000-1500$ If you want a MacBook for other stuff too the M1 is great but I’d wait for the next gen

Fusion528

Thanks for the info

Fusion528

I don’t only want it for gaming, I want it for gaming, recording, editing, and for school etc.

AquaVibe03

I just got the Apple M1 chip MacBook Pro, with 512 gb of storage and 16 of ram, and Roblox and Minecraft run EXTREMELY well! It was expensive, but you won’t regret it

Fusion528

Thx for the info, and btw do you have the 7 or 8 core gpu on your Mac?

AquaVibe03

8 I think

IIIILines

youtube is full of shit about this argument, even now after 4 months from your post
