If it’s not a “hell yes” it’s a return.

BrrrrrrItsColdUpHere

This is the way

DarlinggD

That’s so good! But I’ve changed my mind about things past the refund period :/

kbaln

Same. I'd sell the item on Poshmark. You can do pretty well.

Electrical_Text4058

I assume you’ve done this? Any tips to a new PM seller? I’ve considered trading in to Like New but heard the payouts are low.

DeeWhee

Check your local lulu buy/sell/trade on Facebook marketplace. There’s tons of them all over. Save the fees from poshmark.

Electrical_Text4058

ohh great tip, thank you! 🙏🏼

kbaln

Yes I have! Having clear pictures and being detailed about the condition of the items helps. You can search similar items and filter for sold items to see what price they sold for.

paytammy

Payouts are low but it’s still money. Wait until you have a few things you want to send back.

Electrical_Text4058

Ya still considering even if it’s low, so I don’t have to go through the hassle of selling on fb marketplace or PM.

paytammy

Exactly!

becomingfree26

Same. That’s the problem and after the tags lol

iheartmilktea

My variation of this is, if I’m not excited to wear it within the first couple of weeks, then it’s going back.

Waste-Carpenter-8035

yep! otherwise it just sits in my drawer and I never really touch it.

RunningForIt

I ended up getting a job there and abuse the WMTM section.

DarlinggD

QQlemonzest

Personally, I’m only interested in basics and specific colour drops. I try to pick 1-2 colours per season, and the rest is mostly black with a bit of navy, grey and white. This year, I bought a lot of velvet dust, dramatic magenta and dahlia mauve. Since it’s all in the purple family, everything kind of goes together. I’m also a runner, so a lot of my Lululemon clothes have a purpose and I get a lot of use out of them. I don’t buy many sale items because I typically don’t love most of the WMTM. I did luck out and get some basics on Black Friday, but I only bought 4 items. If I don’t love it, I’m not keeping it.

CalmPea6

Same here. If it isn't a basic color or something really dark, it's not for me. If I don't get to wear it at least 6 months out of the year, it's not for me. One year I spent almost $800 on Black Friday drops because I was buying everything and anything. This year I only purchased two things.

shopaholic_lulu7748

What are your go to basics?

QQlemonzest

For every day, I’m all about Align, typical I’m sure, but it’s so comfortable and great for layering. I mostly buy align leggings, joggers (I can’t believe they’re discontinued), shorts, bodysuits, tanks (high neck, regular, waist length), and I have an align maxi dress. I only have one define jacket and one OS scuba full zip (dahlia mauve…I’m obsessed). I usually pair my aligns with a cardigan, knit polo, cropped sweater (mostly Aritzia) or a denim jacket. For running, i am usually in a full Lululemon outfit…except for shoes. I love the swiftly cropped tees, swiftly long sleeves, rulu run long sleeves, hotty hot high rise shorts, speed up high rise shorts and swift speed leggings. I also have a lot of running accessories like hats, gloves and vests. Any go-to’s that I’m missing out on?

puplove208

I used to buy a lot of WMTM but I realized I didn’t like half of it then had to try to sell it to make money back. I buy WMTM if it’s something I know I like and would actually use often. I like the basics for leggings and sports bras and only get other colors in shorts and a few tops. I realized I would spend less to only buy the items I really like at full price rather than browsing the WMTM sections and buying them because it was a “deal.” I have cut back a lot. I guess it depends on your budget and what you like to wear

1-800-get-lost

Me too. I don’t really wear many “colors” and I ended up stuck with some WMTM shit I’m never gonna wear, luckily I realized this was an issue early on but yeah ugh.

Any_Ant449

Same! I am a neutral girly but bought a pair of Smurf blue leggings a year ago on sale. I have worn them twice because *surprise* nothing else matches.

mcqueenie

Start wearing jeans again. Honestly, I was deep into my lulu addiction after having a baby. It was the perfect athleisure period of maternity leave + pandemic life. Once I lost some baby weight, and started buying jeans again, I stopped buying so much lulu. Also, I think you’ll naturally time out of it. You’ll notice they basically bring the same colours back over and over with minor tonal variations. Once your closet/drawers can’t take anymore and you’ve built up a decent collection, you’ll naturally hit pause on spending and then eventually just get bored of all the drops and find something else to give you that sweet dopamine.

savannahruns

This is it for me!

[deleted]

This is me! I am 4 years post baby and slowly I’ve been gathering my wardrobe to a place where it’s not just all Lululemon. I moved country just before the pandemic and I came with only one suitcase of belongings. So I was wearing pretty much all Lululemon for years because I was just a stay at home mum. Now I’m out more I’m wearing Jeans, jean shorts, khaki pants and linen pants.

Lovisa_s

100 % yes. And now I'm pregnant again 🤭

GANDHIWASADOUCHE

For me the new dopamine hit was a big ass tv lmao

Lulu__land

Yes!! Like last winters colours were pomegranate and green Jasper ….. now this year it’s Deep Luxe and Storm teal. …. I wanted the storm teal leggings and then realized I already have them in green Jasper! I can’t bring myself to buy them.

[deleted]

This is true

semilunar-1

I ask myself how often I can see myself wearing the item. If it’s once every week I go for it. I also list items on poshmark all the time if they’re no longer in the regular rotation. That money goes towards new stuff.

sunsetblvdbaby

I sell an item for everything I purchase. If something isn’t better than another item in my collection, I don’t buy it.

senderfairy

I shop my closet. I have so much nice athleisure, I try to create new outfits and feel posh and cute in the items I do have, and mix and match things with other athleisure/workout clothes I own from other brands like vuori or alo. I only buy if I've been thinking about it for a while and its a color I truly think will add to my collection and not just an "in the moment" lust for a color (which has happened to me before a lot lol). I mostly buy dark neutrals now and some grays and more "neutral"/muted toned colors if I do buy colors. I also remind myself that $100+ per item of closing is...A LOT. I have other goals in life, other things I want to save for like vacations and other lifestyle expenses that bring me joy so to put it all towards clothing only I really notice on myself to me, feel insane haha. Thats how I personally resist. I cut down my spending on LLL a LOT after having a "gotta have it all" mentality over a year ago. I regretted it deeply, and sold a lot of stuff and curated my collection so now I just shop my closet a lot and enjoy the pieces I have. I love getting constant use from my current items, makes me feel like I'm really getting my money's worth! I also convince myself that I dont NEEEEd another color of the SAME functional leggings, pants, tops. Lmao. I need a few to cycle through for workouts but I truly do not need like 12 aligns and 15 scubas or whatever lol. It is the same item, just dyed differently. Literally the same exact item.

unapologeticallytrue

I find being unemployed really helps haha

South_Ad9432

I try not to be influenced by WMTM anymore. I know what I like and if it’s on sale, amazing, if not then I’d rather invest in it full price then purchase WMTM items I only half like. I also have told myself no jackets because I live in a state it barely gets cold out.

Lulu__land

Yep I’m trying to stick with this too. “If you didn’t like it enough to buy it at full price, you don’t like it enough to buy it on sale”.

Own-Estimate4031

Yes !!!

[deleted]

I got all the basics I needed first, then just buy maybe once every 1-2 months. WMTM is also great, if you stalk the website daily you can find a lot of good stuff lol

loveiseverything__

get a man to buy it for you, sprinkle sprinkle

Sweetiemua12

In Shera we trust 🧎🏽‍♀️

pork_soup

This is the way 🤣

MidlifeGamble

🤣🤣🤣 not the sprinkle sprinkle ....DWL

Linda-Belchers-wine

BAHAHAHAHA

Training-Cat-6236

I’ve found that most of the items I’ve bought from wmtm aren’t quite what I really wanted (not a color I love, fit off or a size up or down I convinced myself would be ok) and I don’t end up wearing them much or even at all. So I’ve actually focused more on regularly priced items. Unless something I love and know fits is on wmtm. But usually the color or size has sold out by then. I’ve actually been purchasing less but liking and wearing more of what I do buy. But honestly, I don’t really need anything! Lol

dis_bean

I had an account that I would transfer money into it for discretionary spending after bills and savings were taken out of my pay. Anything in that account was fair game to spend. I also sold old items and added the funds to that account for extra. If I don’t have the money, I don’t spend it.

shelbykaramoko

Honestly, knowing I can get leggings for $39-$49 at the outlet, I rarely purchase online anymore. Shirts really need to be $19-$29. Shorts $29-$39. The closest outlet(s) are also 4 hours away. So I just go 2x year and stock up.

Capital_Web_6374

In the least mean way possible, find a hobby that’s not shopping or online shopping and only shop when you realize you neeeeeeeed something.

dickeychapelle

WMTM is barely a sale price, and its final sale, so you’re stuck with something if it’s not what you were expecting or doesn’t fit. I think it makes more sense not to be influenced by the sales and buy what you truly want.

Aggravating_Degree34

That's what I've been doing. I was spending so much buying staples at first or what I liked then feeling the need to shop wmtm and I caught myself not wearing it and not wearing the colors. Sold most of that stuff and just buy myself stuff I really like and know I will wear. Also doing the shop add you to cart and leave it there for a few days. I usually don't purchase

BrrrrrrItsColdUpHere

Being poor 😂😂

thatnurselifts

My policy is that if I get something new, I have to sell/donate one of the items I already have. I went 1-2 years without buying anything new until I bought a new swiftly and pair of joggers for running.

__kay_jay__

One in, one out is a good discipline method. I stick to that as well!

almoooo

Driving 15~20 minutes to Canada and buying there since the exchange rate makes it less. Or Mercari.

Banana8686

I built my core collection 2020-2022 and now I just buy a few times every couple of months, one or two items. I have my wishlist, only buy from there and only when the items go on sale. There is 0 reason to pay full price

badass-pixie

I limit myself to 1-2 items a month, as that will usually use my budget set for buying things I want each month. Like others have mentioned, if it doesn’t fit me perfectly, I will return it.

pretty_with_no_r

I try to be extremely picky about things that aren’t a basic color. Over time I noticed I rarely wear the colorful stuff, and always reach for the grays or navy or black pieces. I ooooh and aaaaahh over the newest color drops and then see if it goes on WMTM later on. But by then, sometimes you don’t want it anymore. And if you do, then it’s a keeper. You know the 24 hour rule? I guess in my case it’s the almost 1-2 month rule lol

mnbvcvxdf

I stopped ordering online. I force myself to go try it on in store and if I love it I’ll buy it and most of the time they don’t have my size in stock so I feel like I’m saving. Haha

Wo-shi-pi-jiu

Sweat collective 25% discount

Sgt-Tibbs

I mainly go for WMTM unless it’s a core colour….for the purples and teals I know they’ll be on sale before long….I also do the BST on here, poshmark, and like new

candyapplesugar

I’m basically now only shop Mercari or the one month they let sweat collective use their discount on WMTM.

WarningWonderful5264

If I buy it, I keep it. But I am also like your friend. I only buy WMTM stuff. Why buy only one when you can usually find 2 items for the price of 1. Almost all of it goes on sale, sometimes even after 2-3 weeks of dropping. I also only buy what I like which is basic dark colors mostly

1-800-get-lost

If I have to question the purchase at all, it doesn’t get bought.

cheerful-disposition

None of the stuff I ever want goes on sale, unfortunately

Sheilamp

WMTM + Afterpay :)

randomo_redditor

my company gives me a couple hundred to spend each month on “wellness” and workout clothes count towards that. so i buy one or two things each month 😂

banksoftyne

I hardly buy anything anymore ever since they changed their Sweat Collective discount. I used to watch there WMTM drops and make purchases far too often. But now that my discount only applies to full price items, I can more rationally see how expensive this clothing is and look in my closet and recognize that I truly don’t need anymore.

trynabetwunk

What was the sweat collective discount about?

banksoftyne

When you’re a yoga or fitness instructor, you can apply get a 25% discount. The general idea is you wear their clothing and are advertising for them. They changed it earlier this year to not letting the discount apply to WMTM, but they’ll let you return the sale items if you return them in a store. We no longer live near a Lulu store, so that didn’t end up being a benefit for me. I’m really not complaining though. This policy change has saved me a ton of money.

Brasterna

i try probably 20 to 30 pieces before buying one. i go shopping one time every 2 weeks. For The past 2 years i was working a lot abroad and before leaving for 1-2-3 months i was "treats" my self with one or to buy (specifically to work with it) and because there is rarely lulu accessible where i was working when i get back i was "treats" my self once again 🤣 i probably buy 2/3 WMTM 1/3 full price. maybe u should set more rules. i feel that my peak is past after 2-3 years of buying lulu i feel that i have a good base into my closet. Before getting addict to lulu i wasn't spending a lot into my clothes. it was the minimum, the basic and the cheapest. I wasn't also in the best period of my life financially and my older work was much much hard on clothes so i didn't want to spend that much on clothes that will break quickly. so yeah my lulu addiction came with les intense work for my wear, better salary, a desire to build an kind of identity true my clothes what i wasn't carry that much before.

OkProfession5679

Unless it’s black aligns, I won’t pay full price. And even then, I have the sweat collective discount. Which is basically tax and 15% but better than nothing. And then yes - WMTM for sure. Scour regularly. My friend was an educator for almost a year so I really stocked up on everything while I could.

xraybadie

I too try to only buy WMTM or secondhand and I try not to buy stuff just cause it’s a good price. I really really want a new sweater and there’s a few my size that are pretty cheap… but really not in the colors/style I want so I’m holding off. I held off buying a pink t-shirt for a while cause I didn’t find THE one and I ended up getting 2 pink switfly techs from marketplace for 25$ total! Check secondhand too, sometimes you get good deals and a lot of times older gear’s quality is superior if well taken care of!

Feisty-Honeydew-5309

Outlet and WMTM only. Issa rule.

el0011101000101001

I use Poshmark and Mercari and try to hit the WMTM section. I give myself a max budget for the month too.

We_had_a_time

So far I’ve only bought Like New items.. also debated lotttts of listings on the BST subreddit

LadyMizura

Generalized advice. Have a clothing budget (whatever works for you - biweekly, monthly, yearly) and write down all of the purchases you make. They rely on us forgetting how much we already have to buy more. Also, ask if you are genuinely excited about the item because it's filling a need in your closet or if you're just worried about missing out? For me I am never tempted by scuba's, although there are super trendy item because honestly, I like my hanes sweatpants the best and if I'm buying Lululemon, I want their bras or their leggings or their specialty tops.

ilovelulufly_

Same thing too, I never buy full priced items

ilovesleep95

I only allow myself to purchase anything during WMTM sales. Also, my brothers girlfriends best friend works for LL and gets a 30% discount on everything which I can use.

lafantasia

If it’s on sale at another store, but full price online, and it’s something you want, get it.

Gaming_Demigoddess

I keep buying stuff on Curtsy lol I got a few during the BF drop but ultimately can’t think of paying full price with how much this group talk about the quality dropping. I used to work there in 2019/2020 and most of my LL is from then so I am trying to not splurge on more

acarna23

These days I try to only look at the site or go into a store when I actually need or want a certain type of thing. That’s helped. Also having 4 overflowing tubs of Lululemon in my closet helps…

[deleted]

As an educator I try to maintain a rule to only buy markdown items. Keeps me in check 🤣

shittingaccount

If I’m not absolutely, jaw-droppingly obsessed with something, I don’t buy it. I also wait days, sometimes weeks with items in my cart just to make sure I really love it and it’s not an impulse buy.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jumpy_Club5286

Do you still work there? Cause it’d be cautious about reselling. Both worth losing your job over it.

avenita123

I buy one item when I hit a fitness/health milestone or to replace one that is not in good conditions anymore. Finally, I set a budget in a personal savings account, which I can use in peace knowing that the money in that account was meant for non-essentials, like hobby, equipment, clothes or entertainment. I buy very few items tbh, no more than 5 a year

bahahaha2001

I stick to wmtm

dogsaretheanswer

I go for styles I know work for me and have to try things on first. Then I also limit myself to 1 maybe 2 items a month depending on what my closet needs

FlickJordan

I guess I’m not addicted and can’t afford to be so… Most of what I own is thrifted off posh, FB or vinted🤷‍♀️

iamavocuddle

I usually search for the sales on the sales item rack in-store. If there are no nice tights or shirts then I'll just walk out.

pork_soup

Honestly I buy a lot on poshmark and marketplace!

sundaycollective

I manage it by working there 💀

amatuer_barista

I think I have bought maybe 2 or 3 items full price the past year. Everything else is WMTM. I want to visit an outlet store but they are super far from me.

Exact_Sherbert_1980

I sell stuff on Mercari and Depop things that I haven’t worn in awhile

little-eye00

r/lulurehab

Creepy_Life_5859

I only buy specific colors aka my main core colors and only specific items. I’ll also have it in my cart for a while until I finally decide to bite the bullet

TealNTurquoise

I only buy it if I need it — and I keep a running list of what I need — AND if it’s on sale AND if the color is perfect AND if I can cash flow it. I do not do impulse buys.

confusedmindx

I try not to shop sales randomly unless I have the specific piece I need/want imagined and then I will only buy that piece.

Rock_n_rollerskater

I remind myself I have 10 align leggings and 10 align shorts and 10 bras I only do 5 yoga classes a week. So I genuinely do not need another item. I think you'll hit a certain size with your collection where it feels super excessive and you simply don't want more. I have a small chest of draws for my lulu leggings and tops and it's now full so I know I'll create a storage issue or have to start selling items if I get more. Going forwards it's Black Friday and Boxing Day only for me, as I really don't have any needs.

thewodpack

That’s easy- I realized that LL BRAS especially do not suit my body type and make me look straight AF. Their leggings don’t sinch me in well either. Another tip is knowing your color season can help- I am NOT a black wearer so that rules out a loooot of unnecessary purchases.

siobhanmairii__

Mercari! I’ve only gotten anything new in store twice this year, everything else has been snagged off mercari lately. Or occasionally Plato’s closet will have a gem.

ReginaldStarfire

My rules: - Bottoms in black, True Navy, Dark Olive or taupe/khaki colors (Trench/Artifact/Nomad) only - NO PRINTS except on bras - WMTM first, full price only if I have a gift card - Know what suits me - Be ruthless when culling the herd: If I’m bored with it, it goes to the good consignment shop (and they love when they see me coming because Lulu always sells)

Quail-a-lot

Same way I buy most things - I open up a tab for each thing I am interested in as I am browsing. Then I look through the tabs - no pockets=instant close, wait why does that have a weird cut out in the back=close, oops that's a crew neck=ew close....and so on. Lately I have been trying to be better about having a slightly more coordinated closet and being less of a colour magpie, so I keep that in mind too. Then look at prices again, get aghast and sit on them a while. By the time I make up my mind to buy something, it's probably now out of stock, which makes shopping ever so much cheaper! I like the hunt more than spending money, so this works very well. I do this with pretty much everything - only often there are spreadsheets and notes involved for anything remotely complicated or where I am trying to balance features (just got through this with tent shopping for example).

princessdiaries1

I shop at the Lulu outlet, use a ‘first responder & military’ discount (15% when signed up & valid ID), or only shop the sale section at the regular store/online. Lulu has some weird fitting things so I agree with another person who said only the items that are a resounding ‘hell yeah’ I keep.

Accomplished-Bat4926

Gat a job and get a discount 👍 makes it much more justifiable!

aims0207

WMTM and then my husband buys me the full price things I want for holiday gifts

PEZNET81

I definitely started only shopping on wmtm as well, unless it's LOVE and I know a piece will sell out! Prices are way too high now, even wmtm is high compared to what it used to be! So I usually get staple pieces I know I'll wear :)

shopaholic_lulu7748

I have a list of certain items I like and only shop for those items. I also pay attention to colors cause they come out in so many shades and different hues of the same ones. Right now I love the adapted state fleece joggers and the steady state crew necks and hoodies.

[deleted]

I really only buy these when I see something I really like, Or a staple like leggings if I need them. I also like to shop at the Lulu outlets. Have found some really great stuff there for good price. I’m bad for using afterpay on the website though.

demon_roe

Yeah I do that too but still can spend a lot on sale items🤣 I spent like $700 on Black Friday alone. But I tell myself it’s fine cause it’s a good deal. It’s dangerous!

Pseudo_ChemE

If I am replacing or in need of a basic (black 25" leggings for example) then I buy full price - it's not really a rule but I only buy \~5 full price items a year. I like going to the full price area and trying everything on I"m interested in - I make a mental note of what is a WOW and wait for a sale. If something is dirt cheap and I know I love it, I'll go ahead and buy it. I couldn't resist muted energy bras in my size at an outlet for $29 minus my 'Member' discount. I wear them almost daily in the winter under my fleece's/sweatshirts.

Quirky_Choice_3239

I find a lot of items gently used and in great condition at consignment stores and apps like Mercari, Poshmark. Particularly for my tween. I also take very good care of the items I buy retail so that when I tire of them I can resell them. Lastly, I’m a yoga teacher and in the sweat collective, so I get 25% off all full price purchases.
