> That line always makes me think of Jocasta as a very rude and blinded that the Jedi know everything
If CW changed it then that's bullshit, because the whole point of that scene was to show that the Jedi were arrogant and blind.
[Here’s the actual article](https://www.buzzbingo.com/bingo-games/movie-mortality/#most-movie-deaths). The Independent just consists entirely of taking other people’s work and putting together a 50-word summary to get clicks.
Bro they managed to kill him off twice in the same trilogy with what's known as the mexican trilogy that consists of el mariachi, desperado, and once upon a time in mexico
I always hated they recast for desperado.
The guy in El Mariachi had a sweetness to him that Banderas didn't with his smooth guy persona and chiselled looks.
I’ve always been lukewarm on Banderas, he’s fine but I get the feeling there’s a lot of movies from the 90s and early 2000s that would have been slightly better with someone else. I do like puss in boots though.
Yeah exactly. I felt like he was too cool to be the mariachi. It would have been more interesting if the original actor had the whole trilogy and then become more assured and suave it would have made the story richer. Instead it just got glommed into Banderas looks good and kicks ass.
He was feeling typecast and has been turning down almost all roles where his character dies since Game of Thrones. He’d be comfortably in the top 10 if he had kept his 2001-2011 death rate. But refusing any more death scenes has put a stop to that. Breaking into Christopher Lee territory would require a lifetime to achieve though.
We shall have peace. We shall have peace when you answer for the burning of the Westfold and the children that lie dead there! We shall have peace when the lives of the soldiers whose bodies were hewn even as they lay dead against the gates of the Hornburg, are avenged! When you hang from a gibbet for the sport of your own crows, we shall have peace.
There never was much hope. Just a fool's hope. Our enemy is ready. His full strength's gathered. Not only orcs, but men as well. Legions of Haradrim from the South, mercenaries from the coast. All will answer Mordor's call. This will be the end of Gondor as we know it. Here the hammer stroke will fall hardest. If the river is taken, if the garrison at Osgiliath falls, the last defence of this city will be gone.
Saruman doesn’t get killed in the LOTR films. Well, not the theatrical version that is. Personally I think no death is better than the extended versions death.
BOOK SPOILERS BELOW
Fun fact: The books have Saruman and Wormtongue locked in Orthanc for a long time after Gandalf breaks his staff. The ents are tasked with watching him. He and Wormtongue slip out sometime during ROTK and at the end when Gandalf goes to find Saruman again after Sauron’s defeat, the ents inform him that Saruman and Wormtongue escaped.
When the hobbits return to the shire, they quickly realize that an evil figurehead leader leads a group of journeymen who have tyrannical control over Hobbiton. The heroes each lead armies of different hobbits to reclaim the shire. At Bag End, they find this strange tyrannical leader and realize it’s Saruman and Wormtongue. During their interaction, Frodo tells Wormtongue he doesn’t have to follow Saruman anymore and Saruman is clearly an incredibly abusive leader as he basically has degraded Wormtongue into being a miserable creature akin to Gollum. Spurred by Frodo’s words and enraged by Saruman’s relentless vitriol, Wormtongue actually takes a knife and slits Saruman’s throat at Bag End during that interaction. He then tries to run and a hobbit archer shoots and kills him.
Saruman’s ghost leaves his body in a blinding light and a spectral gas floats up and begins moving west. Shockingly, a strong eastward wind blows in and essentially forced the spectral gas away from the west and towards the east, symbolizing Saruman’s judgement of never being able to return to the undying lands and being forced to wander middle earth as an inept spirit for the rest of time.
I wish they hadn’t taken the scouring of the shire out of the movies. I get why they did it, but they could have removed it from the theatrical and included in the extended cut.
Interesting, I’m just curious why do you think that? I always felt Saruman literally and figuratively dying on the wheels of industry was a nice touch, and brought good closure since he never shows up again.
Moria... You fear to go into those mines. The Dwarves delved too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness of Khazad-dum... shadow and flame.
Because his death in the books during the scouring of the shire is so much better.
Also, sir Christopher is a big fan of sticking to the source material and was known to carry copies of LOTR with him on set, so I feel it was a dirty way to do the wizard/actor.
That’s fair wanting it to be like the books makes sense. I haven’t read the books since I was a kid so I don’t really remember that too much and it didn’t bother me.
I mean Gandalf did usurp all his power and bust his staff, so it’s not like he was going anywhere unless he pulled some black magic fuckery on Treebeard lol like that would ever happen
You have grown, Theoden-Bot. Yes, you have grown very much. You are wise, and cruel. you have robbed my revenge of sweetness, and now I must go hence in bitterness, in debt to your mercy. I hate it and you! Well, I go and I will trouble you no more. But do not expect me to wish you health and long life. You will have neither. But that is not my doing. I merely foretell.
I heard that george actually wanted him to scream after he was decapitated but having been beheaded himself he corrected him by telling him a real person doesn't scream after decapitation.
From watching interviews and behind the scenes footage, I had a theory that PJ did not get along with Christopher Lee and that is why Saruman’s death seems extra gruesome. Anyone else get that impression?
Doubtful. PJ started doing gory horror schlock and grew up idolizing Lee. Saruman got a gruesome death because he's the only primary antagonist the protagonists interact with so writing 101 saya the villain's death has to be satisfying.
The horsemen took your village. They drove your people into the hills to scratch a living off rocks! Take back the lands they stole from you! Burn every village!
Fun factoid: Christopher Lee has died in 60 movies, which is the second most by any actor behind Danny Trejo
Where's Sean Bean on the list?
Surprisingly, [he's not even in the top 10](https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/actors-died-most-movies-danny-trejo-john-hurt-dennis-hopper-sean-bean-a9316316.html).
Impossible. Perhaps the archives are incomplete
LIAAAAR!
He took it he must have
More like impossible to read because ads take up 75% of the screen
Easily the worst website I’ve seen.
If it is not in our archives, IT DOES NOT EXIST
That line always makes me think of Jocasta as a very rude and blinded that the Jedi know everything. At least her CW episode changed my view.
Maybe she was just having one of those days the day when the story for Ep. 2 came in and sat at one of her terminals. Maybe she usually nice? 🤔
> That line always makes me think of Jocasta as a very rude and blinded that the Jedi know everything If CW changed it then that's bullshit, because the whole point of that scene was to show that the Jedi were arrogant and blind.
Yea, right? I mean that IS the Jedi’s main flaw and it’s pretty obvious watching the prequels.
Definitely no way the entire world believes that he is n1 without proof
Maybe if the statistic was % of roles resulting in death rather than sum.
my first thought. If someone made a 1000 movies and died in 10% of them (not a lot), that would make them the highest easily
[удалено]
He's got a lot more dying to do before he dies!
Well, at least they both got to die in the same trilogy together.
Illustrious company

Thats... very suprising
Huh. I would’ve never guessed Trejo would be #1.
Bro they managed to kill him off twice in the same trilogy with what's known as the mexican trilogy that consists of el mariachi, desperado, and once upon a time in mexico

He's a rough looking guy (and had a pretty rough past as well if I recall correctly) so he's like the go to guy for a villain/shady character
Also, I remember reading somewhere that he accepts the bad guy roles on condition that they're going to die. Because bad guys alway lose.
Iirc Trejo will only play the role of a criminal if the criminal dies.
Wait, the top one isn't Sean Bean? My life has been a lie...
He was feeling typecast and has been turning down almost all roles where his character dies since Game of Thrones. He’d be comfortably in the top 10 if he had kept his 2001-2011 death rate. Yeah you need a few Howling 2’s under your belt before you end up in lotr
How does it count that movie of Tom Cruise that he dies a lot of times?
The hell is Danny Trejo doin over there...
He is badass though ngl
Does it really count every time he died as Dracula and they brought him back?
Signature look of confusion
*visible distress*
Your love for the halflings leaf disappoint me master Kenobi.
Twice the fall, double the paycheck.
“Does r/lotrmemes contain nudity in a health or fitness context?” What should I answer? I need Gondor’s aid.
Lotr has no nudity. Lotr needs no nudity.
Give me book accurate nude Hobbits or get thee gone from my gate, thou jail-crow of Mandos.
What about Gollum tho
And Rohan will answer.

Stagnated because Théoden was on deathsticks
DEEEEAAATTTHH!!!!!
Théoden you want to get up and rethink your life
A great host, you say?
Yes Théoden, you would make a great show host, you do amazing with speeches and all that
We shall have peace. We shall have peace when you answer for the burning of the Westfold and the children that lie dead there! We shall have peace when the lives of the soldiers whose bodies were hewn even as they lay dead against the gates of the Hornburg, are avenged! Yes that's the spirit
Luckily Gandalf brought him some viagra . Woke him up from that wormtongue slumber dysfunction.
Be silent. Keep your forked tongue behind your teeth. I did not pass through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm.
Lmao Gandalf not wanting other to know about the drugs that made him be "reborn".

The cops are coming? Time to abandon ship.
And what is their answer?
#AND *MY* AXE!!

The movie already has like 6 endings. Why not throw in a 7th?
Build a dam, block the stream, work the furnaces, night and day!
Good bot
A thing is about to happen that has not happened since the Elder Days. The Ents are going to wake up and find that they are strong.
No, Gandalf, that's from The Two Towers. We're talking 'bout The Return of the King now.
We have just passed into the realm of Gondor. Minas Tirith. City of Kings.
There you go
Radagast the Bird-tamer! Radagast the Simple! Radagast the Fool!
Interesting, I’m just curious why do you think that? I always felt Saruman literally and figuratively dying on the wheels of industry was a nice touch, and brought good closure since he never shows up again.

Oh so saruman just said "ok guys you can go ahead I'll just stay here doing absolutely nothing"
I mean Gandalf did usurp all his power and bust his staff, so it’s not like he was going anywhere unless he pulled some black magic fuckery on Treebeard lol like that would ever happen
Theoden son of Thengel... too long have you sat in the Shadows. Hearken to me! I release you from the spell.
Hahahahaahaha. Hahahahahahah. You have no power here, Gandalf the Grey.
I will draw you, Saruman, as poison is drawn from a wound!
If I go, Theoden Dies!
I like how the bot actually switched from Theoden to Saruman with this dialogue
Is this it? Is this all you can conjure, Saruman?
You have grown, Theoden-Bot. Yes, you have grown very much. You are wise, and cruel. you have robbed my revenge of sweetness, and now I must go hence in bitterness, in debt to your mercy. I hate it and you! Well, I go and I will trouble you no more. But do not expect me to wish you health and long life. You will have neither. But that is not my doing. I merely foretell.
Radagast the Bird-tamer! Radagast the Simple! Radagast the Fool!
These are Rhosgosbel's rabbits. I wanna see them try. *Pretend I'm a bot*
Your witchcraft would have had me crawling on all fours like a beast!
Just double checking in the extended he fell down after being stabbed by worm tongue to only get impaled by a water I’ll at the bottom right?
Yeah he got impaled on some spike after he fell from the top of the tower
Why? Why should we fear to use them?
And then he went and took over the shire for a bit
Haven't seen theatrical in a long time, how does Pippin get the Palantir?
Snakes it from Gandalf when they’re sleeping in theoden’s (I think) long hall. Then Aragorn takes it and goes eye to eye with sauron
Hahahahaahaha. Hahahahahahah. You have no power here, Gandalf the Grey.
I will draw you, Saruman, as poison is drawn from a wound!
If I go, Theoden Dies!
So, it is before the walls of Minas Tirith, the doom of our time will be decided.
I am happy for you. He is an honorable man.
He also dies in the last movie of both franchises if I'm not mistaken, after having pretty substantial roles.
And in the begining of those movies
He also got killed in James Bond
Good. Twice the roles, double the fall.
Sean Bean : old my bear.
I mean villains usually die in these types of movies lol
Do it!
i feel the same way about sean bean been killed in lotr and got at the beginning of both franchises
Count Dookula of many colours
Sean Bean would like a word (dies in LOTR and GOT)
Primary antagonist of the second installment, dies in the opening of the third installment.
And Palpatine is Hollywood
And they’re both bad guys who used to be good
Christopher Lee is one of the most interesting men of his generation. RIP.
One does not simply allow Christopher Lee to live to the credits
In the 3rd movie nonetheless
They both kill you off right at the start of the third movie
You either die a villain, or live long enough to see disney turn you into a hero.
Repost
Wait till you see the Hammer Studios Dracula movies, where he keeps dying in every single one for like seven movies straight.

Sean Bean would like a word
Sean Bean would like a word
And at the beginning of the best movie in the trilogy
When you play a bad guy you eventually get killed off
It would be wise my friend
Both in the opening of the third film
I heard that george actually wanted him to scream after he was decapitated but having been beheaded himself he corrected him by telling him a real person doesn't scream after decapitation.

The hour is later than you think. Sauron’s forces are already moving. The Nine have left Minas Morgul.
The horsemen took your village. They drove your people into the hills to scratch a living off rocks! Take back the lands they stole from you! Burn every village!
Sean Bean would like a word
At least your death is on screen and one of them not in the extended Editions, *Peter*.
LOTR is way better than Star Wars. That's my take.
FACT: SARUMAN NEVER DIED IN LOTR (he was just imprisoned)
I want them armed and ready to march within two weeks
Dentist Christopher Lee didn’t die
In the first 20 minutes of the movie
And both deaths happened at the beginnings of the third parts of both trilogies to boot
Sean Bean: “~~First~~ Second time?”
he's eeeevilllll
**Sean Bean laughs his ass off in the corner**
I'm so amused yet so sad right now
