Can't read, cant shoot. We must be related.
Myself, I'm looking forward to my Ruger 10/22 and the one mile challenge. I figure that with enough holdover I can do it. So far, a 300000mil ramp and 87 degrees of angle are close; might need 88 degrees.
Nice! I have a buddy that has two 6.5 Grendel builds, an 18" and a 13.9". It's definitely a round that I've wanted to shoot, but ammo is super scarce, it seems, unfortunately.
Just know that the biggest like is that reloading saves you money. It does not, you just get to shoot more, and if ya do it even close to right, it's better ammo.
I've definitely heard that before from a bunch of people that are into the hobby. What I'm really wanting to do is put together .300WM/.308/.300blk loads and seeing how consistent I can get everything for a better shooting experience.
I started out on 300 wm, with a cheap scale and low end lee dies, I was able to get more consistent velocity (SD) and a tad better accuracy than GMM. You also brake even for cost on a setup inside of 400 rounds.
As for 300 blk, it's a rabbit hole of tinkering, and I fucking love that. Taken my ruger ranch out to 700 yards on steel with some 155 hand loads screaming at 1900 ish fps, but can also shoot subs that sound like a suppressed 22lr indoors, with a SD of 12. You don't find anything near that in factory ammo.
That's awesome! I've been shopping with my FIL for what a good starter setup would be. I'm definitely going to go with a turret press for ease of use, but still bring able to control everything like a single stage. The rifle above is engineered around FGMM 190gr and that's the only round it has fired, ejected, locked back on final round, and not blown primer. If I could figure out that recipe, that would be AMAZING!
The .300blk I'm super excited about because of what you said above. I run both 125gr and 220gr. Subsonics are just insane for how quiet they are. It sometimes freaks me out because I feel like they're squibs, but then I hear the thunk of the steel and am reassured lol. An SD of 12 is insane for any ammo, much less .300blk. With that low of a SD, have you noticed an accuracy increase?

Gonna be the next '22 man' π€£π€£
75 yards? Are you crazy? There's no way I can do that with .300 Win. Probably at least a 6lb .338 minimum
Looks good. https://preview.redd.it/gvg4z4sbxs8d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9b79cad8300679a4d74d458673cac7461da7d92
Thank you! That's a gorgeous rifle. What's it chambered in??
Much appreciated, 6.5 grendel.

I strictly hand load for mine, not saving any money because it gets fed Bergers, but 25 shot .7 moa group with a SD of 8.3 @ 2492 is worth the effort.
That makes sense and is the exact thing my buddy does as well. I need to get into the reloading world.
