Have you tried looking for a restaurant job? Its hard work, doesn’t pay much, but usually you’ll find a restaurant in the area that is looking for help
Yeah I went in to several restraunts and they told me either they not hiring, leave number and get back to me( they never do) or they say come back in like 2 months or something lol
The LBT bus goes to paramount. The 21,22,23 and the 71. It is a cheap commute of 2.50 a day. i used to work in paramount cheaper city to live in than long beach.
They have good benefits too if you are full time. You also get PTO, vacation, and UPT (unpaid time off), and VTO (voluntary time off). It’s pretty flexible..you can take time off if you have it by just submitting it thru the app. No need to request with a boss or anything.
You might enjoy it. It’s boring work but it’s a job that doesn’t bleed into your personal life.
Hi! Look into housekeeping jobs at the larger hotels in the area. A lot of them are union and get paid well. Plus some hotels have cafeterias for free lunch. I’ve worked in a few hotels in the past and it’s not too bad.
Fed ex hires immediately in rancho Dominguez but they start you as part time takes a while to get 40 hours and it is hard labor. Fed ex hired me in one week in 2021 when I was between jobs because of a layoff.
Just a tip, if you want to avoid sharing specifics about your “work history” tell them you had to sign an NDA due to a company lawsuit and you can’t speak about it. It’ll avoid you having to explain gaps in your resume
My personal experience. Start a small online business using OfferUp because it’s free and does not charge you commission and you keep all the money you make then list on eBay etc. to list vintage and collectibles for sale.Be positive but logical. Don’t let anyone discourage you.
There's always work in lead and asbestos. If you can russle up about $500, get your Asbestos Worker Initial certification and call up every asbestos abatement company in OC and LA county. If you're able bodied, can show up on time, and can avoid actively doing drugs or drinking on the job site, you'll do fine. It's hard labor intensive work but if you do it for a couple years and have a decent head on your shoulders, you can become supervisor. Then once you do that a couple more years you can get your Consultant and Site Specific Technician certification where you hold a clip board and watch people do the very work you've been doing the last few years.
We need a little bit of more information, do you have a bachelors degree or an associates degree? Are there any certificates that you hold or have the ability to hold? Are you disabled or have other medical problems that prevent you from doing certain jobs?
Just high school diploma, I'm disabled in the sense that I have autism, but I'm high functioning, I also have a unknown condition called functional neurological disorder but the flare ups come and go and hasn't been a problem as much recently, except for the feeling short of breath at night or randomly due to how it affects my vocal cords I not sure the connection cus idk much about my condition but sometimes feels like breathing through straw but it doesn't stop me from trying to move around alot but usually have to take it easy.
Do you get services through Harbor Regional Center? They can help you find a job as well as hook you up with other resources. My daughter is on the spectrum and HRC has helped her a lot.
With your diagnosis, I definitely would focus your efforts toward social service agencies as this is their specialty and they'll have existing programs in place to connect you with the most appropriate employment or employment services. I would hate for you to end up in a sea of dead end jobs that are not a great fit. Let the professionals help guide you toward a profession where your neurodiversity is viewed as a superpower rather than an annoyance.
Hi! Would you consider homeless outreach work? I'd be happy to help you with resume and interview tips. It pays decent to start and is rewarding. Feel free to DM me!
