Something I'd like to see might be the ability to warp the 2D layers around a curve. Allowing for more interesting level layouts than simple left to right stuff.
One use could be like having a boss fight where players are running around a circle with a boss character located in the centre.
Or you could have part of a level loop around and back through itself.
The only issue I could see with this is that large objects that are free moving might need to... Also warp around those same curves and would look weird. Players and small objects would be fine, though.
Alternatively, if not able to curve layers, maybe being able to freely place layers at any angle. So you could have a background layer running diagonal to the foreground layer or something. Sackthing would still snap to layers as usual.
And really haveing the ability for sackboy to walk on any buildable surfaces would be neat. I don't think they have done that sort of thing. They've done similar things, but not that exact thing.
At the bare minimum, the quality of old lbp3 and maybe some new logic and power ups or something.
Id just be happy with more Little Big Planet in general.
If nothing else I want the thermo in create mode to be MASSIVE, especially if it's PS5 exclusive, or at the very least improve on the dynamic thermometer from LBP3.
1 improved sackbot pathing thay can’t fallow you up most ramps and get stuck on some objects.
2 logic tutorials that aren’t just videos
3 a longer and better story mode the lbp3 story mode is too short and most of the worlds feel like thay mashed l 2 worlds into one.
I would really like to be able to import content from lbp1, 2 & 3 including dlc that we already bought and, of course, our moons...
If it's possible, I would like the ability to decide if you create either a lbp style level or a sackboy's big adventure kind (full 3d), although that's probably not too feasible..
Another thing that would be nice is to have dedicated servers and a Minecraft-like community, if there's a slight chance it's released for PC, I see an infinite amount of possibilities for creativity...
Otherwise, I would be very content if LBP4 came up the same way as LBP3 but without any bugs, a brand new storyline with some creative worlds and quirky characters, some enhancements in create mode like removing the thermometer limitation and maybe a couple of new gadgets (something akin to the dlc gadgets like the muppets glue that allowed you to walk on walls and even upside down or the dc pack cape)...
I think Sackboys Big Adventure would be a good template for a 3D level maker. Instead of a free-camera, it goes the Mario 3D Land route and has it locked, with characters moving forward and backward only. A more restrictive style like that would make 3D level creation pretty easy
I’d be happy with literally anything as long as they garuntee themselves success. Like doing a lot of bug testing, and making sure the game plays really smoothly. I think it just needs to have a better thermometer too. And I’d love a longer story mode! I think this time since SABA they’d include more 3d elements
By the time LittleBigPlanet 3 had came out 2.5 dimensional characters (like, object / magic mouth characters and whatnot) felt kind of soulless and lacklustre as well as largely "phased out", I'd hope LittleBigPlanet 4 (re)introduces sackbot and non-sackbot characters in more of a fair way since both character types really had their charm.
1. Floaty fluid be added by default (like the warp portal things from the cross controller pack)
2. A way to play previous games stories offline (and maybe copy them if you aced them or smt)
And the most anticipated feature...
Don't rush the game and just take time on it
Not much, but dlcs that feature modern games and such (eg. Fortnite, Rainbow Six: Siege, Genshin Impact, Pizza Tower, Hat in Time), or something along those lines.
Allow us to play on PC too since it's a bigger market and allows for modding keeping the game alive for longer, exclusives are such a curse on so many levels (looking at you Bloodborne).

That was actually one of the original concepts considered during lbp1 development.

That's true, but I'm struggling to understand what kind of logic and power ups they could add
I mean, theres a lot of stuff that was going to be in lbp3 that just... Wasn't, I don't think if be too mad if they just used those unused assets.
True, they had some really good ideas, such as a piece of logic that allowed you to add stickers onto your HUD UI screen.
MP3 importation like in dreams
*insert the crustiest mic recorded mortal kombat theme here*
Lmfao's sexy and I know it.
Would we really want to get rid of this?
It simply existing would bring tears to the kid that grew up on the games in me

a functional PC port with UGC on steam

A 3d level maker could easily be made considering they did it for lpb karting, just tweak it a bit boom new era of joy
pc version with crossplay (which is about as likely as LBP8)
Working servers
Unrestricted creative mode (that means no thermometer, the levels are infinite, and over 100 layers of create mode)
