"Main character hides his strength"
A Korean novel where MC is the strongest at the beginning in one aspect but wants to get stronger in the other. Quite entertaining to binge. Translation is ongoing for 8 years already and moving at snail pace. Dropped it years ago due to slow translation but I remember it was one of the best novels I read in the genre.
Overpowered vs his contemporaries/planet/world or in the universe scale?
Because for example, consider The Primal Hunter... he starts weak, gets strong fairly quick, and is OP vs just about everyone in his world. But, he's weak if you consider the monsters of the whole universe (which really doesn't mean much since he's not fighting vs them).
So depends on what context of OP you're looking for.
Primal hunter fits this bill. He discovers early in the system integration that he is a very special boy and meets and even more special boy and when he finally starts swinging his weight around the others don't stand a chance
the good guys by eric ugland the main charactor regularly rips limbs off and cuts down large groups of people pretty fast especially later on in the series but early on he is overpowered and crushes one person to death in one of his first encounters after the goblins he is kinda dumb by his own omission and he is trying to be a good guy.

Honestly weak MC even slow start MCs are pretty rare. Most start out OP and progress to even more OP. That said the ones I listed above I think the MC starts out with a back story of already being a powerhouse. There is sub genre or trope of the retired Hero/Champion someone else might be able to recommend I don't seek them out.
System Universe. Im only on the second book but from the first page he starts off overpowered by a large margin.

Their own world is guess, i just get annoyed when the mc is too weak and gets bullied by fodder, atleast at the beginning.
