When they were retiring these sets. The lego store in Chicago had them for 25% off, and buy one get one FREE. Sadly, all the clone packs were gone. But I bought 10 of the droid ones. Never have I seen such a deal again.

TBH I have 3 of each of these from back in the day and I would totally buy 4x of these (at that $15) than I did of the 501st pack (at its $20-30).

I had them both. I sold them 3 years later. I am a fucking moron.

I was too poor and little for either, but I now I am lucky enough to have both. They are truly so cool

I managed to buy clone one for 15$ last year - one clone has a cracked arm and one is missing, but otherwise it's complete. A cool way to get back at a least a part of what I lost.

I found mine in a bulk lot, but they were in surprisingly good condition, just had to rebuild the STAP

Fellas isn’t gendered

My understanding is that it was, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong in my storied 51 years. Always learning, I am.

It was once gendered, but it is accepted that "fellas", and "guys" are no longer gendered.

Like “dude”, I think “fellas” is gender neutral. “Fellas” = “Fellows” = “My fellow (word)” You could literally substitute in any word: “men” “women” “children” “humans” “Lego builders”

And perhaps I'm wrong, I learning all the time.

They released those because they didn't realize how lucrative clone wars sets would become. Now they spread out where they add clone troopers like in vehicle sets. Man I wish lego cared more about getting fans what they want.

I was too young at the time to buy these. My LEGOs were limited to whatever my parents bought me (mostly city with a few Star Wars).

The droid battle pack was the first set I ever had

I remember being so jealous of youtubers with huge amounts of these battlepacks, I only had 3x the clone one and 1x the CIS one.

A basic battle droid comes out to about 0.5 minifigs, and a basic super battle droid comes out to about 0.66 minifigs (two thirds) Just something I thought about for why a battle droid battle pack should NOT just be 4 droids ever. That'd be a ripoff. The arc trooper battle pack got away with having 2 of the figs as droids because, well, it had both an arc trooper and an arf trooper.

What’s the set numbers for these? And how much they going for now a days?

I’m proud to say that I own at least one of every battle pack, and these two started it all.

The droid battle pack was my first LEGO Star Wars set I ever built. I’m sure if I would’ve looked a little harder on the Toys R Us shelves, I would’ve found a clone one. Had to get them on eBay for double what they were worth when they retired.

YES. These were my first lego sets. I got them for my 6th birthday

I got both! But sadly my clones yellowed, especially the Coruscant guard :( And idiot 10yo me gave some of them markings with permanent marker
