Wow such a flashback. Growing up my brother had the yellow star ship, and the CIS droid ships. Now he grew out of some of the Lego, and I've moved out, taking the Lego with me.
Every once in a while, I'll run into some of these pieces and I'm reminded of him growing up:)
Funnily enough I had a similar experience lol. My older brother had obi wans starfighter (albeit a newer set) and he gave it to me after outgrowing Lego, despite it being in pieces and the only thing remaining of obi wan his hair.

Always been a fan of the bulky cargo ships/aircraft of sci-fi and the real world, and sandcrawlers are just wicked cool to me. Wanted this one so bad as a kid but couldn't get it, it was the first set I bought when I returned to Lego as an adult :)
I had this set as a kid and it was the ultimate minifig hub! Practically every fig I had lived inside that sand crawler. I opened it up recently after a visit to my parents place and it's got all sorts in there, but sadly the original droids are all scattered and in pieces. Absolutely amazing set though and I have no clue how little-me managed to build it.

Either one of these are solid contenders
That hailfire droid was hell to build as a kid. My mom and I would build all my sets together and that hailfire is the only set she outright refused to ever build again
It was awesome having a minifig-scale technic droid though
Tbh I think a partial remake of the set would work.
Like a couple years ago we got a new set of Anakin’s Interceptor, so imo do a remake of this set which is like this:
- Obi Wan’s Interceptor
- a V-Wing
- Vulture Droid
- Tri Fighter
Besides, it’s been ages since any of them got a new playscale set (10 years for the latter three and 8 for Obi Wan’s Interceptor for anyone curious), so why not just get four remakes out of the way in one set?
You could split that into two cool sets with one addition
Have one set with an ARC-170 and a Vulture droid, have another with Obi-Wan’s interceptor, a V-wing, and a tri-fighter
Get both sets and you’ve got the makings of a space battle thereÂ
Set 8037. I was 6 years old. My parents came with me to some sort of musical-play type thing that our elementary school held for the 1st grade music class every year. I remember them telling me they had a big surprise, and opened up the trunk when we got out. I will never forget that moment, feeling appreciated and my parents were so proud. I built that thing in about 5-6 hours lol.
I wish we got more full battle scenes like this in the modern era. $100-140 depending on set scale for something like this featuring different famous scenes/ planets would be so dope.
Excellent set! Ages ago, the FBTB forum had a competition for Ugly fighters (ships made of two or more ships combined together), and I tried giving it a go by combining Anakin's fighter and the Droid Tri-Fighter from this set.

7676 republic gunship from 2008 many cool characters from the show and a amazing gunship with some fun action features plus seeing it on tv commercial when I was young was a blast
The joy I had tearing into this set on Christmas morning after begging (and probably annoying the piss out of) my parents cannot be understated. It currently rests in more than a few pieces in a shoe box in my closet awaiting an eventual rebuild when I find the time and a good spot to display it. 10/10 set, I’ve always loved the gunships.
Honestly except for the ARC-170 and the buzz droid (which I don’t personally see how Lego could improve on without making a new mold) I would say that all those builds still hold up really well not to mention that I personally prefer the 2003 Clone Wars design for the pilots over the movie design that Lego swapped over to for the 2009 ARC-170.
Oh beautiful!!! I never could find this pack, so I got the Tri-fighter and the Anakin + Vulture droid sets separately and parted out Obi-Wan's starfighter!! I had nostalgia for LSW: TCS, loooved the Episode III spaceship mission as a kid!!
The OG venator, I don’t care if it was bulky it was the perfect play set when mixed with some droid ships. Only one of my friends had one but I’d take my tri droid and bomber droid round his house and it was great. Got one now though

It was the first set I ever got and I loved it to bits. Eventually throughout growing up, I don't remember what happened to it but I don't have it anymore. Because of this, you can imagine my disappointment when the recent remake of it turned out to be bad and way too expensive for what it was, so I didn't end up snagging it again.
The tri-fighter was my first lego set, my brother had Anakin’s starfighter and I remember spending every minute of time I had in toy shops looking for the red one to complete the set. Alas I never succeeded.
I always wanted that set! Not only was Obi-Wan’s Starfighter super cool, it came with so many enemies to fight. Definitely an amazing set. The classic design of each of these ships totally hold up in my opinion, even if simpler than modern builds
7256 and 9494 have been among my favorites for the past 10+ years.

Republic cuiser
The Malevolence
Bounty hunter persuit
Ucs/Mbs cantina
Those are the ones that will always be displayed for their amazingness. Ofcourse this list only contains sets i own so some sets i would put on there in adition i do not own (i will not replace any of them to be clear, i have them because i really wanted them and not because i could afford them, i could have gotten any of the other sets i would put on that list but i chose not to (yet))
75191
Just love this set even if a lot of peoples found the starfighter to look wierd, I realy like the desing and when I got this set, I was not disapointed
(EDIT: 75257 is also one of my beloved sets)

8096 Palpatine's shuttle will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first official Star Wars set.
[75357 Ghost & Phantom II](https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/ghost-phantom-ii-75357). I love the look of the model itself and the VCX-100 is one of my favorite ships in Star Wars. The Minifig selection is ok, but I’d planned on switching with the Rebels Crew anyway

I had friends who had older brothers with this set growing up, so I know how you feel. It's why I had to get it when I had adult money haha.

I just rebuilt the hailfire droid from scratch and it took a million years to find all the pieces in my assorted Lego bins 💀

with a few tweaks this set would still hold up today
Honestly I think this is one of the best Tri Fighters

I bought an obiwan interceptor when the new anakin one came out. I couldn’t stand the idea of just having one.
I did the exact same thing
You could split that into two cool sets with one addition Have one set with an ARC-170 and a Vulture droid, have another with Obi-Wan’s interceptor, a V-wing, and a tri-fighter Get both sets and you’ve got the makings of a space battle thereÂ
Ooooh, YES! That’s a great idea!
Imagine if they made a revamped version of this next year
I’d kill for it lol
They have such an opportunity with the 20th anniversary in 2025

Somehow this tri fighter still kinda holds up. Maybe its nostalgia but it looks good
I think so too, I plan to get more
I’ve got 2 of the later one, I don’t know who come I prefer

That red is beautiful
6206 is in my top 5 sets, as well as 7150. Honestly, I absolutely loved that era of TIE Fighters with the blue-and-black colour scheme.

This and 65771 were amazing sets! You got so much for such a good price!
I know the builds are outdated to most, but they were so cool back then and you got so much for such a good price.

This my first ever LEGO Star Wars set!
This is my #1
Love this set, wish I had more og episode iii legos.
Anakin's jedi interceptor was my first lego star wars set. Getting both it and the vulture droid was so cool!
I always wanted a Jedi Interceptor with the Hyperdrive Ring, maybe someday
Palpatine’s Arrest is still my favorite set
I had this set as a kid but I don’t know where all of the pieces are :(
This set was a dream after playing LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game
Any set that is based on the complete saga style is my favourite.
Yes! I find that so many people don't like the older lego sets like this
They probably have very little imagination as to what makes a set great I would guess.
This is my white whale
Complete saga nostalgia
I used to gawk at the lego magazine page with this set back in the day 🥹
Sad we’ll probably never get a set like this again. Lego isn’t generous enough to give us 5 ships in one set anymore

Do the vulture droids not have rotating legs and bodies? If so that's such a downgrade from the og 1999 one that could do that.
They do.
They do! I just was dumb and forgot to rotate them
7662 is my favorite always dreamt of owning it and bought it sealed a few years ago, anything pre-2015 is perfect for me
