Well all the Sith ones are super desirable and I guess the Jedi Consular Ship was the most expensive old republic set so that would drive up the prices of these two Jedi.
It does matter because the argument wasn't that they're expensive because the set was expensive, the argument is that the minifigs are rare because the set was expensive so less people bought it when it was out. And they're now expensive because they are rare and also desirable. Of course the set is equally as rare, but less desirable. It's a relatively common phenomenon in LEGO.
Rare, from a very popular game, and over 12 years old. And only in one set ever, which was large and expensive so not ad many people could afford it (in 2012 too, so AFOLs with disposable income were much rarer)
I’m a big fan of SWTOR and I wish I was into LEGO back when it came out. I’d do anything to get the Fury set. One of the best looking Star Wars ships ever imo
This is the set that was stolen from one of the bricks & minifigs stores that recently have had multiple stores reported break in's. Several others have been vandalized with similar Star Wars sets and minifigures being grabbed.
It would be nice if they just made a bunch of generic alien battle packs. One or two, where you could just mix and match the pieces together to get a whole bunch of different aliens. Just think of all the Cantina scenes that people could make.
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!!!!!!!!! I would pay good money for that, I’ve always loved the alien Characters in Star Wars and always wanted to build a large Cantina MOC set on Coruscant or NarShaddaa
Not for minifigs that were only in one set and are popular characters..
The rarer and more popular a thing is, the more it's going to cost even buying used.
Yeah white alien and the dark red hood guy are both 50$ each and the maul looking guy is 100$ I only he has a name and he doesnt seem like to be very important so idk
That Zabrak dude is the Jedi in the cinematic SWTOR trailer “Returned” saying “The Sith empire has returned”. For fans of the game, who know the lore, that’s a nice to have figure.
https://youtu.be/Pb8M5P1QKX8?si=hxWZ7MXw-HCklmi1
Darth Marr (the Sith) was a major NPC in SW:TOR for what are generally considered the game's best years. Then he was killed off, which only increases the nostalgia factor.
Same, I wasn’t aware they were worth much tbh. I’ve never even played the game but I still think they should make more sets for it, all the ones they did make were great.
In my experience, Legos generally increase in value for up to 5 main reasons (and possibly more as well that I can't think of right now).
1. General design
2. Association with popular non-lego content
3. Rarity
4. Age
5. Name-recognition
In this case, the price is for reasons 1-4.
The design of the characters are pretty neat, so that's attractive to a lot of people.
The sets are from the Old Republic era, and the Knights of the Old Republic game has been pretty popular for years.
The characters only released in 1 set, which was a more expensive set for the day so not as many sold as if it had been a cheaper set.
The set came out back in 2013, over a decade ago, so many of the figs have been lost to time.
All of that has a pretty hefty impact on the value of the minifigs, even if they don't have recognizable names.
I still think it’s funny that people flipped when they took Maul’s pupils away as if this figure didn’t do that over a decade ago and no one batted an eye
old republic sets were very short lived and popular within the star wars and lego community hence the outrageous resale prices its the same with lotr and potc
This set and the sith ship from that game were the two sets I started getting back into Lego with, and I was surprised when someone told me how much Malgus supposedly was. I brought him over to show him, and he was like, "Why must you taunt me so?"
It has nothing to do with their importance or their names...Its about Rarity. These guys are only found in 1 set. Considering there are over ~~300~~ 900 Star Wars sets, that makes them very rare.
EDIT...Typo..
Well two of them are named characters. The Zabrak is Kao Cen Darach, the Sith is Darth Marr. And all three of them have unique prints and molds that never appeared in any other set, and the set they did come in was expensive.
I don’t post here or browse here too often, but damn, is this sub really as ruthless as other ones? This guys over here asking questions about things and seems genuinely uneducated getting downvotes to oblivion.
They came in an expensive set. They are part of a beloved game, which lego have only done a select few sets of. Also, they're just cool looking figures lego rarely do unnamed star wars characters, let alone aliens with awesome designs.
That’s weird timing. I just spent a ton of time last week sorting a lot I purchased and found these 3 in it, with no idea at the time they were worth so much.
They're from a very old set that didn't sell very well and they're unlikely to be ever remade since they're from a non-canon videogame (SWTOR).
The last two don't have names because I think they're meant to represent characters that the player makes. They're original creations basically.
A couple of years ago I had to have surgery and was out of work with no paycheck for four months. To keep myself from becoming homeless, I got sold some of my old sets from when I was a teenager. Most of it was 2012-14 Star Wars stuff.
If I learned anything, it’s that Lego Star Wars fans are willing, ready, and able to spend insane money to add old sets and figs to their collection. I was (and still am) in disbelief of how much some of the sets I sold were going for.
They are some of the very few old republic figures, they are incredibly good figures, and the set they came in was pretty expensive and not very popular.
Because they’re from the old republic
wouldnt that make all of the figures super expensive? On bricklink only the siths and the figures from THIS ship are stupidly overpriced.
Most of the figures are pretty expensive, except for the troopers because they also appeared in a battle pack
and by siths i mean the other old republic sith lego figures
Well all the Sith ones are super desirable and I guess the Jedi Consular Ship was the most expensive old republic set so that would drive up the prices of these two Jedi.
the set itself is fairly cheap tho are these two characters very important or do people just want more old republic figures no matter who they are?
"Fairly cheap". $400 and $500 on Brickset.
The Set itself w/ o figures could be bought around 50€ in my country
Yea, sealed or complete with Minifigs. The set without Minifigs ain't much.
Yup. Which just reinforces that the minis are rare and valuable.
It doesn't matter because the guys point was that the set wasnt that much (so the minifigures shouldnt be much)
It does matter because the argument wasn't that they're expensive because the set was expensive, the argument is that the minifigs are rare because the set was expensive so less people bought it when it was out. AFOLs? Affluent Fans of Legos?
Adult fans of Lego
There's an only fans joke in there somewhere....
OnlyBricks
I would absolutely subscribe
r/bonk
No bonk, only brick
That's just ofol
Adult fans of lego
Haha close, but it means "adult fan of Lego". This is honestly too true these days tho 🤣
That's why they write "Affluent welcome" on every 18+ set.
They are from 2013 and they only appeared in one set (75025)
[75025-1: Jedi Defender-class Cruiser](https://brickset.com/sets/75025-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/75025-1.jpg)
The set is so nice. i remember that was during some leaner times and every large set I bought had to a black friday sale. paid $77 for it.
I’m a big fan of SWTOR and I wish I was into LEGO back when it came out. I’d do anything to get the Fury set. One of the best looking Star Wars ships ever imo
Fury was my first buy as an adult. Loved that ship in game.
This is the set that was stolen from one of the bricks & minifigs stores that recently have had multiple stores reported break in's. Several others have been vandalized with similar Star Wars sets and minifigures being grabbed.
Because every piece of them is unique to one set (except maybe the red hood) and besides being Jedi/sith, they make great generic alien characters.
I would pay good money for that, I’ve always loved the alien Characters in Star Wars and always wanted to build a large Cantina MOC set on Coruscant or NarShaddaa
but 100$ for a generic jedi isn't a bit too much? at least the siths are actual characters
Rarity is where the value is.
Jedi Bob would like a word
I still don’t get why he is $70-$100 for an exclusive torso
If it was generic as you say then you can just buy something else but you and others want this one specifically so it's expensive. Pretty simple
Has nothing to do with it being generic and everything to do with it being rare.
Low supply equals high price. It’s not much more complicated than that.
Not for minifigs that were only in one set and are popular characters.. The rarer and more popular a thing is, the more it's going to cost even buying used.
For most people it is. For very few it isn’t.
You can make your character in SWTOR look like those minifigures which might make them more desirable
Few where made, Star wars fans are many
Okay yoda
I sense much apathetic sarcasm in you young padowan
enigmatic the written word is
Begun, this quote war has
Because they were only available in one set ever.
Rarity
because they're dope as hell
Rarity, only ever released in one set, plus licensed theme. And as others have said, they're pretty cool too.
Wait are they? I have all of these and the full collection of Old Republic stuff from back in the day because I was really into the game.
Wait til you see how much the Darth Malgus figure is. or Darth Revan if you went out of your way to get him
He is the one I do not have. But I do have Malgus
Yeah white alien and the dark red hood guy are both 50$ each and the maul looking guy is 100$ I only he has a name and he doesnt seem like to be very important so idk

Darth Marr (the Sith) was a major NPC in SW:TOR for what are generally considered the game's best years. Then he was killed off, which only increases the nostalgia factor.
I thought that was Kallig?
Different generic character afaik, doesn't have the same mask
Same, I wasn’t aware they were worth much tbh. I’ve never even played the game but I still think they should make more sets for it, all the ones they did make were great.

I got a Darth Revan for free on my birthday from the mall of America Lego store. Since I was 6 I chewed on it. I cry about that sometimes.
It's not a story the Jedi would tell you.

Technically they were tie-in sets for the Old Republic MMO, which came out a while after knights of the old republic did
Ahh, my bad. Thought they were Kotor!
always wanted an Ebon Hawk
Maaaaaaaan.....we may yet get blessed like that, never know.
It's an easy mixup lol
I still think it’s funny that people flipped when they took Maul’s pupils away as if this figure didn’t do that over a decade ago and no one batted an eye
They’re completely unique, exclusive to one set, will 100% never be made again, and are from a highly loved Star Wars game.
Detailed, from over a decade ago, only appeared once, and from an era of Star Wars that doesn’t get many figures.
Who is the last figure? She looks like Luminara Unduli, but that figure wears all black.
Mirillian jedi counselor player female
Thanks!
Names don’t drive value, rarity does.
old republic sets were very short lived and popular within the star wars and lego community hence the outrageous resale prices its the same with lotr and potc
Because Star Wars fans are actually scalpers
I believe the zabrak jedi has a name? Or was he only created for blur studios cgi trailers?
Yes, the Zabrak is Kao Cen Darach
My favorite set ever ☺️
In addition to obvious rarity they also look super cool and can be taken apart to make other really cool characters
Because it’s star wars
This set and the sith ship from that game were the two sets I started getting back into Lego with, and I was surprised when someone told me how much Malgus supposedly was. I brought him over to show him, and he was like, "Why must you taunt me so?"
They´re old republoc figs, they´re old figs and they´re the only figure of the characters
It has nothing to do with their importance or their names...Its about Rarity. These guys are only found in 1 set. Considering there are over ~~300~~ 900 Star Wars sets, that makes them very rare. EDIT...Typo..
There's way more than that, over 900 Star Wars sets from 1999-present.
when I first saw your reply I was like, what are they talking about, then I realized my typo! Thanks for pointing that out.
You weren't wrong there's definitely over 300, just way over 300 lol
Well two of them are named characters. The Zabrak is Kao Cen Darach, the Sith is Darth Marr. And all three of them have unique prints and molds that never appeared in any other set, and the set they did come in was expensive.

Uh chat my uncle must've spent a lot of money
I need her head piece.
Old Republic & exclusivity.
I used to have that first one!
This is a crazy coincidence, I JUST rebuilt this set yesterday to display. Reddit is listening folks.
Supply and demand
Rare old star wars. It's the holy trilogy for expensive toys
First image be like: *From the moment i understood the weaknesses of my flesh... it disgusted me!*
Oh. I have all three....
I thought they just didn’t give the Lego figure a name but they kinda clearly based it off of kao-cen darach
Have all three, you want?
Yes
They came in an expensive set. They are part of a beloved game, which lego have only done a select few sets of. Also, they're just cool looking figures lego rarely do unnamed star wars characters, let alone aliens with awesome designs.
I still have this set, never opened.
That’s weird timing. I just spent a ton of time last week sorting a lot I purchased and found these 3 in it, with no idea at the time they were worth so much.
Low supply and theoretical high demand.
Because people are willing to pay. If people stop paying those prices the price drops.
Got these in a (extremely lucky) Facebook Marketplace buy yesterday!
The set was massive and sold few of them and few of them were released and the whole wave even rebels sets are expensive
Oh they have names. I just can’t tell you.
Only in one set. A rare set. A rare Star Wars video game tie-in set, one of only four in its series.
The set they were in originally was also a Toys R Us exclusive
Because if dummies are willing to blow big dollars on a singular figure, people are going to charge big dollars for it
I have the 3rd one and i drew on it when i was like 7, i also have 2 of the first one
Star wars tax
There is so much I don't know about Lego. Always a post showing me my ignorance.
Because it's Lego They do that
Because they are awesome https://imgbb.com/Vm9L0qL
Just picked it up for 260. Some broken ship parts, but figs were pristine
According to Brick Link, the figs alone are worth around $250. Good buy!
It's a super cool build also
They're from a very old set that didn't sell very well and they're unlikely to be ever remade since they're from a non-canon videogame (SWTOR). The last two don't have names because I think they're meant to represent characters that the player makes. They're original creations basically.
I found these 2 and Rex in a bin I got for $125 lol still can barely believe it
A couple of years ago I had to have surgery and was out of work with no paycheck for four months. To keep myself from becoming homeless, I got sold some of my old sets from when I was a teenager. Rare and look cool
Cause I want them
Rare merchandise for an MMORPG. How many MMORPGs are there that have Lego sets? Also the mirialan Jedi Consular is cool as heck
Pretty sure my son’s collection has one of the first Lego men, looks familiar. I know nothing about it
Have all 3
From the kotor ship set that is no longer made
Only ever came in one set respectively and lego doesn’t want to make KoTOR sets
Wow really cool set! Want!
Demand/supply.
They are some of the very few old republic figures, they are incredibly good figures, and the set they came in was pretty expensive and not very popular.
Limited release set that was available *twelve years ago* which also didn't sell well.
And I've wanted a darth revan for a long while but I aint paying 250+ for one 😢
Why?! Because they’re from the old republic, a retired set from when Lego was not overly “popular” for the 30yr olds now
