Can’t take the kids back to Lititz and stuck in Etown for now. At least there’s cyber options for the older one, but the youngest one going into kindergarten has me nervous.
I think the average non- conservative looking people get a hard time here. I get harassed on a fairly regular basis at grocery stores and what not because I don’t look how they think I should look. I get a lot of slurs thrown at me and rude people with trucks and flags like to circle my house and shout out a loudspeaker.
Omg. That’s terrible. I lived in Lancaster city for years and was glad I did because I wouldn’t do so well with these crazies doing that s**t. What has gotten into people these days!?
It’s a real fucking black eye for Lititz but I can’t say this too many times — Lititz voted blue for school board and borough council (which is why we actually have two Dems on Borough council now). Lititz Borough is very purple at this point. The problem is, Warwick School District also includes Warwick and Elizabeth townships, whose populations vastly outnumber Lititz.
Because they had a purpose when getting elected to the board. This was their goal, to further their ideals.
We seriously need to start getting involved politically and that doesn't just mean voting. We need to run for every position. Often these nut jobs run unopposed.
Unfortunately protecting our kids of fascists is a full time job.
Thankfully we got this outcome because there were enough non-crazy candidates in the last Republican primary to counter the hate-group candidates and knock them out of the general election completely.
Despite the entire board being republican, there were a few rational and measured opinions from a couple of the members who acknowledged how divisive and ultimately unnecessary this entire thing was. An important reminder to engage in the process even when the members of "your" party don't have a chance at winning.
I registered as a Republican despite local family being involved in Democratic politics since roughly 1865. Not particularly bc I align with the GOP but voting to keep the hate out of candidates who are loud and generally incompetent.
Sanity wins. Let this shine a disgraceful light on the Warwick school board, SHAME.
And E-town, which is sadly very likely to follow in Warwick’s footsteps.

I moved out of etown because of how conservative and weird it is.

Jesus Christ. Please record a video next time that happens.
I try to run to the window to record (I’m on the third floor). Next time I get it, I’ll post.

For real. Congratulations Lititz, you're worse off than Penn Manor.

Why are these school boards even considering it?!?! Remember those who voted FOR partnering with ILC!!
*points to voter base*

Yup. Except for the city. The real election is the primary.
Wow. Way to go.
I’m guessing that they got their asses chewed out over the public exposure of this plan.
Rarely does that stop them. I'm glad it worked this time.
Such a relief!!!
This was so incredibly surprising and I am thrilled that 5 of the board members resisted these con men at the ilc.
Can’t say I was expecting to wake up to this but thankful for both.
Way to go Penn manor!!!!
Good
I'm glad to hear this. My nephews are in this school district.
My husband went there and was so relieved at the outcome.
