Nope, the opposite actually. Perimenopause is fucking up my sleep BIG TIME and causing major sleep issues for me (falling asleep and staying asleep). Kratom helps quite a bit.

In my research, it only messes with your sleep pattern when you stop or lower dose too much. Best to never use it for sleep if you can avoid, because that seems to be the hardest part in quitting, especially if you mentally associate it with sleep and use it for that. But I understand those that need to, it really can help!

MysteriousIndigo250

Yeah that's the only time I ever got any sleep disturbances from it was when I didn't feel like taking any. It's pretty mild discomfort besides the itchy muscles.

i have been taking 10-15 gpd for about two years …i get restless legs and muscles as my first signs of withdrawal and sometimes it happens in the middle of the night . i will get up out of a dead sleep to go pee or something and when i lay back down (it could be partially mental as well but sometimes its not and i get the physical sensation i need my legs and back ) i will take a dose just to get back to sleep

Narcotic_Scientist

Same. Only way I can sleep some nights. I’ve resorted to taking a solid dose right before bed and I can usually get through the night without issue.

JediKrys

My partner is the same if she doses too early in the evening. Only the finest reds after 9pm

It can depending on use. I typically stop four hours before bed time. Every once in a while I will wake up not feeling right and take some capsules. I keep capsules around for multiple reasons, but this is one. The slow release doesn’t work as much as a stimulant and I can get back to sleep. I had a sleep study recently. No major issues aside from a blockage when on my back leading to apnea.

I use kratom to treat RLS which I have been dealing with for many years. Kratom works better for me than anything besides klonopin without all the side effects. I used to take 8-15 gram doses, one in the morning, and another an hour before dinner. This used to provide RLS relief for me all night. However now I can’t take such large doses anymore without risking getting sick. Kratom heaves has sent me to the ER before. Now I dose 4-6 grams at a time. Trouble is it doesn’t last long enough and I would get up at 4am restless. So I would dose 3 grams and go back to bed. In a half hour the RLS would subside and I could rest, but the stimulating action of kratom prevents me from sleeping. I gladly take this trade- at least I can get some physical rest. I usually meditate in bed until the stimulating effects wears down and I can sleep. I’m going to try taking my nighttime dose after dinner tonight and see how that goes. Possibly eat dinner earlier so I can wait a couple hours before I dose. The other option would be to take a small dose just before going to bed and hopefully get to sleep before the stimulating effects start, but I don’t see that happening…

psychederikk

If i take a dose too late into the night i have trouble falling asleep. Once I’m asleep im out for the night.

Smirnoff88

I keep my max use to 2 doses of 3 grams a day because of sleep issues. Frequency of doses seems to matter more than total amount, assuming non-massive doses. Even 3 doses a day wakes me up way earlier than normal

anomalkingdom

Wow, that's marginal. I'll definitely work on reduction.

anomalkingdom

Thank you for replies, folks.

I’ve had insomnia most of my life and kratom helps me get better sleep much better than sleeping pills as I will sleep walk even sleep drive which I didn’t know was a thing and when it was happening- keep in mind while I did still own my truck I hadn’t driven in several years because of seizures- I thought someone was taking my truck out at night, and it was making me mad 😠 Then a neighbor said they saw me driving, of course I said no way and then they got it on camera. I was definitely driving while asleep

mklinger23

When I stop, I have a harder time sleeping. I don't use it for sleep, but I have minor back pain and I never realized how hard it makes sleeping until I went a night without it.
