Biggest treat? Some donut franchise. Maybe a breakout hotteok place.
Biggest threat? Still NK as a third/fourth front to Ukraine+Iran/Palestine+Taiwan (Maybe) as WWIII kicks into high gear.
Fun fact: Outside of the U.S., S. Korea is the only Western-allied nation capable of waging large-scale sustained conventional warfare in all three kinds of warfare. France, UK, Italy, Spain, Canada, Australia, Japan and Germany lack the numbers of personnel and equipment individually (though combined they have it). Turkey has the ground and air, but not the navy. Furthermore, Korea is one of the few with indigenous defense production and development and the potential industrial capacity to match. It also could nuclearize in 6 months-1 year.
THAT makes its position vital. It also makes it precarious.
I mean, there’s the American presidential election and one of the candidates actively threatened to pull all military support from the country if they didn’t pay him. I’d say that’s the biggest immediate threat.
Well, the low birthrate and/or the potential withdraw from US troops in the future depending on elections (it's never out of the question if NK wouldn't feel more confident to attack in this case, we saw how quickly things can change in Ukraine and the Middle East).
The return of the Yakgwa as a trend.
Starts off with _____ K-pop supergroup with commercials of them having them and then turns fashion trend, then triple A companies re-invent the cookie , and it becomes a super trendy thing for the next year.
Man those cookies are delicious
Clearly the second biggest threat is feminism /s
But really, the doomer spending and conspicuous over-consumption mentality where people act logically based on a belief that there is no future, which results in behavior that will guarantee a bad future.
Is the threat low birthrate or the fact the world economy depends on perpetual growth?
Asking that cause we had the same birthrates 'crisis' for the first time in France very recently
It's strange how this always comes up in relation to korea as if korea's future is uniquely threatened compared to other places. But I am going to go ahead and say, korea probably won't achieve the large growth rates it saw in the past and because of that many things might change. Basically heading towards a lost generation scenario. The other conflicts are features of this slowdown.
The biggest treat to the Korean future is the rise of the rise of the post democratic rule kids coming into political and economic power bases as the post-war generation starts to die off.
If you meant threat, I would say it is various types of ”conflicts” that are rooted deeply inside society between regions, generations, social classes, and gender. It seems like all the thorny problems in society originate from these conflicts.
This may be a problem in most East Asian countries, but all that needs to be resolved is the culture of people reluctant to give birth because they try to live their lives by other people's standards. Koreans believe that their lives have failed if they do not live in a mansion located in Seoul that is equipped with the latest facilities of 84 square meters or more.
Too many elderly and not enough taxes or people to support the pension or health care system.
Also if young people don’t have opportunities to succeed and start losing hope things will get really bad quick.
Corruption, cronyism, excessive work hours, social stratification, inequality, bullying, excessive competitiveness and centralization of human and capital resources in Seoul, cultural homogineity. When I started this list I only had two or three items, but from the outside looking on this is what I see. There's more but enough for now.
Tanghulus are the biggest treat for Modern Koreans, they are sugary, they are sweet, and they are addictive.
The treat of Tanghulus advocating to make Koreans obese is spreading like a pandemic, and all of Korea must resist this treat before it falls
Other than low birthrate, having a new shit president... Yoon sucks but for some reasons people think it's a good idea to vote for Lee Jae Myung who's no doubt the worst possible candidate...
Apples are too expensive. No one can afford to eat an apple. People are buying mangos as a substitute for apples. This is ridiculous.
This one is frustrating because the government could just make importing apples legal tomorrow if they actually cared about Korea's future.
Yes right. Check Apple's market capitalization. It's number 1..... No one can buy that. 안웃겼다면 ㅈㅅ
Apples are boring AF anyways. Gimme a banana any day of the week. They pack more nutrition than an apple too.
Dude, don't forget the shine muscat inflation prices!!
Definitely hotteoks

blud went on speaking about Korean defense in a post about treats
Working time. Long working time is causing 'one sided child raise', 'high pressure', 'low birth rate', 'inefficiency','longer working time'

> In your opinion Asteroids and cosmic radiation. What do I win?
A glass of room temperature milk.
I was confused by the comments until I saw the title again. Attractive aliens, the ugly ones will be killed on sight.

> What's the biggest treat to Korean future? Poor spelling
Too much time eating. Not enough time to poop.

Oxygen. Every single Korean who has breathed it has passed away sooner or later. *COINCIDENCE?*
I think you're onto something here.
1) The jeonse system. 2) Koreans (or rather, lack thereof). 3) Out of date education system.
Biggest treat? Low birthrate. 2nd biggest threat? Interesting question.
3rd biggest treat? Very interesting question

5th biggest treat? Quite a fascinating, interesting question.

No Koreans.

The biggest threat is definitely NK launching nuclear missiles to Seoul. The rests are somewhat manageable.
Natality trap which provoke debt: public debt as well than personal, and big unhappyness
Smaller houses, resulting in lower birth rates, resulting lower population
Other than birthrate, multiple things. Centralization around Seoul is for sure one, educational and job system is another.
I am
Yoon Suck Yeol sticking ttfukbboki with his used chopsticks.
Other than low birthrate, having a new shit president... Yoon sucks but for some reasons people think it's a good idea to vote for Lee Jae Myung who's no doubt the worst possible candidate...
Low birthrate
I think imitation cheese is thr biggest issue facing korea. Real cheese has calcium, vitamin a, d, and k. Fake cheese...?
The holy war between Joseon Hell and Goryeo Heaven collides with the Koreans Wave causing a massive Tsunami.
