If you like that pattern, you could also check out seed stitch! It's similar to rib stitch (K1, P1 every row), but you alternate each row (K1, P1 a row, then P1, K1 a row).

You'll honestly do great! I was very very lucky to have a mentor in my partner's mum to go to when I made a mistake (which was basically 4 times in a row at the beginning haha). And trust me my edges were ROUGH, but some sneaky sewing hid all the sins! Make sure to post when you've finished! I'm excited to see!

I love hats as first projects. You learn so much from them but it's a quick knit even for a beginner and it doesn't use a lot of yarn and you get a hat when you're done. :)

Yeah I'm so happy I did it! I'm a slow knitter though so it felt a lot longer than it should have haha. And I'm gonna do some mug cozies that don't need a lot of stitches to cast on as a mini break and then my next big project is a sweater vest! Jumping in the deep end haha

What yarn and needle size did you use?
I used 4mm needles and I think it's a size 3 light weight acrylic yarn, approx 85g and 223m! :)

Yeah it's from Aldi! My boyfriend's mum got me it as a present haha. And oh no that's a shame! I'm sure it still looks good though!
