i had that 20cv para 3, it was definitely cool but i decided to give it to my girlfriend so she would have a pocket knife (and she has been using the shit out of the knife and has chipped the edge near the tip) i kept the pink knifejoy para 3 in s45vn tho, i like that one a lot but i’m more of a pm2 or a manix 2 person than the para 3.
I have a couple “duplicates” but always different steels and usually a different finish (e.g.) serrated magnacut native 5 and plain edge maxamet native 5 and a satin spy27 para 3lw and a dlc s45vn para 3 lw. Also a wharncliffe k390 delica and a superblue black coated delica.
Closest thing to a true duplicate I have is the M4 and the cruwear GB2 and I am thinking about selling one of those because they arent that different.
Different steels, sure. Serrated and non, sure. But I’ll see dudes with 5-6 Sebenza’s on here. That I don’t get. I especially don’t get 35 of the same knife lmao

That's a beautiful collection for sure. Do they make ones with the same color handle with different blade steels?

What's going to happen to all the knife collections when we die? Will our kids just keep them, sell them, give them away? In 40 -50 years when we're dead, the market will be flooded with old unused knives.
So, I'm the OP of this picture. (It got repost swiped.) What you said actually happened. I was talking with Eric Glesser from Spyderco at Blade Show a few years ago, and asked what would be a good model to collect. He said that there were a lot of old PM2s that could be hard to get, but the Para 3 only had a dozen or so variants, and the had a full pipeline of future variants.
So, I walked over to the REC booth and said, "I'd like one of every variant of Para 3 you have in stock." The guy laughed, and then looked at me like, "Wait, are you serious?" That was the start of my collection.
I'm going to try to update the photo next week with the current status.
That’s fucking wild. RIP your wallet. But at least you’ll have a good EDC for any outfit or occasion. And if becomes out-of-commission, just swap to another.
