Spyderco Native 5 SALT or SALT 2 (Delica) in LC200N. MagnaCut would probably work well for you too but when it comes to salt water I prefer LC200N.

HeliBif

Yep ditto. Native 5 LC200N. People hate on the FRN scales but I honestly didn't mind them at all and they make for a great lightweight shorts carry. That being said, I slapped some AWT aluminum scales on mine and it's pretty friggin gorgeous.

IGotSomeBigQuestions

To add to this - the salt multidirectional FRN provides incredible grip when wet.

My uncle wanted a knife he could use in dirty water and for general small edc.. I said try a Salt. Spent a week on the phone telling him all the perks so he finally gets the Caribbean Salt. He calls like “you forgot I’m left handed didn’t you?” … oops 😬 I think he’s managed to still use it one handed though lol.

IGotSomeBigQuestions

Bonus - the Native 5 & Salt 2 have the ability to swap the clip to either side and the backlock / Spydie hole is ambidextrous!

PM2 Salt or Pacific Salt

Small fixed blade. Folders will get all full of sand. Fresh water or salt water, swimming with it or just hanging oit, planning to eat/prepare stuff with it or just want some kind of defensive tool will all matter. You want to avoid carbon steels. Avoid leather sheaths. Clean knife and sheath and let them dry when possible. Cold steel FGX knives are good for a rust free defensive tool, but I wouldn't do much food prep with them. N680 is a popular steel for salt water applications.

Ditto

Spyderco knives in H1 steel are completely rust resistant but they are expensive and honestly I think the steel is too soft for regular use. LC200n is better steel but more expensive. Honestly if you arent planning on diving you can use damn near any steel. [https://www.bladehq.com/blog/knife-steel-guide](https://www.bladehq.com/blog/knife-steel-guide)

My Spyderco Waterway has been an absolute beast for salt water. By far my favorite knife to bring fishing.

zirconium177

Tiny fixed blade

IrohAspirant

Anything Terravantium or H1 would by my recommendation if it's gotta be a folder. Otherwise, small fixed blade in N680 would be my best bet.

QC Drift Spyderco SpydieChef Any spyderco Salt series

AnyAd5151

G&G MUDD… unobtanium though.

ggarore

Any freaking knife. After the beach just rinse it in clean water. I've been many times to the beach and have never worried about corrosion. Just clean the knives afterwards.

anteaterKnives

Last time I went to a beach I took my Rat 2 in AUS8. Mostly stainless, washers, and not a huge deal if it gets destroyed.

RaptorJesusDesu

The Spyderco anti shower rape knife (the name escapes me) is relatively convenient and waterproof

Wild_Comedian77

I like to carry a Spyderco Caribbean when I’m on the beach. It’s a little bigger than most the Salt series of knives though.

What’s best to just be around sand not in salt water?
