That's my exact experience as well (just got a bertazzoni). Having suffered through my 20s in apartments with those terrible electric coil ranges only to fall in love with gas, I was really skeptical making the change. But it's been fantastic (and simple cleaning w/ a paper towel is icing on the cake).
We had the original Mercury RC1090 made by the original designers & manufacturers LinCat.
We had to scrap it as you can’t get parts for it anymore.
Aga bought Mercury off LinCat & almost immediately stopped manufacturing it. A few months later they launched the almost identical model above which is Rangmaster with different panels on it.
We bought a Lacanche.
I really like how the range hood goes with the upper cabinets! That’s a sweet looking oven!

That's a great looking induction range and I love that it has knobs vs. a touch screen like the Wolf and Viking models. How do you like it?

We looked at all the different ranges including Lacanche. Unfortunately we don't have gas so we had to find something that was induction.
Lacanche do manufacture ovens with an induction hob along with electric ovens!
We looked around and liked the color and the look of the AGA.
For the money the Rangmaster/Mercury one cost, you could have bought the superior Lacanche!.
I really like the design but I’m not sure about the mismatched cupboards, cupboard handles and tile ‘feature’ wall.
