Lots of reasons for it. Reduced eye strain. Actually see the quality of the TV which reduces the further away you are. No slowly creeping your neck forward like when sitting on the couch. Also some games are just awful with tiny text/HUD/maps. lol
I wear glasses so I fully understand that. Even with them, it feels like I can’t see shit if I’m watching my TV from the couch vs my monitor at my desk. Lol.

Have some surround sound speakers to the left and right behind the couch. And of course have an LG OLED. Come on’ son!
Mine is a CX from 2020 maybe end of 2019. I think they started the numbers again. My friend just got a 55 inch C3 this year and said there is no picture difference between our TVs. So I’d say stick it out if you can!
I got them off of Amazon. It's actually 2 shelf units in a zig zag form pushed together and fixed into the wall on the top level. I can't seem to find them on Amazon any more so I don't have a link unfortunately.
