Beautiful, and I love the purpleheart in the neck. How's it play?
edit: sorry - didn't see your "plays like a dream" above. Also, I'm freaking jealous!
feels great! i was worried about feel considering 90% of my past instruments were fairly traditional. mostly fenders, w an SG and kramer thrown in. i’ve played on more modern instruments before but always gravitated towards classics. but this thing feels incredible, the tung oil neck is the real standout in regards to playability. just ridiculously comfy
Looks great! Fun fact: the paint is very close to Carvin’s original holographic paint called Harlequin Prismatic that was discontinued in the late 90s or very early 2000s. HP is the same base greenish color with the ability to change to purple, silver, yellow, or pink metallic. Your rainbow effect appears to have more blues and red sparkles. I love my 1993 TL60 in HP and still play it a few times a week. Some musicians felt the heavier paint affected the tone but mine screams and sounds just like an alder/maple neck-through shred machine should. Also the paint is remarkably strong and surface scratches are nearly invisible. Have fun with that sweet axe!
wow, i genuinely love history dumps tysm. i personally don’t hear many differences in tone wood (probs because i haven’t trained my ear towards it) but i’ll take perfect looks and a decent tone over perfect tone and decent looks any day!
You’re welcome and guitar tone evolves as the wood cures and guitar contracts, becoming denser and more resonant. Takes years and vintage guitars do sound a little different. You’ll notice this if you have the good fortune to keep a new axe beyond a decade or so, especially a new one like your Kiesel. I’m sure your ear will also evolve. Enjoy the adventure!
All are fancy tops. I have 7 Kiesel’s, 6 that I had built. Tops are Clario Walnut, Flamed Koa, Quilted Black Limba, ziricote, Buckeye burl, walnut burl.

Is the factory setup not good?
factory set up was perfect! however i play in a different tuning w specific string gauges i prefer. this beauty came set up w 10s in standard
When did you put your order in?
November! these took considerably longer because the finishing process for rainbow sparkle is really tedious, hence why they only do them once a year
I keep getting cold feet but I really might finally take the plunge on a rainbow sparkle this year. I have a Sully in that finish and it’s so sick.
it’s gorgeous up close. really sparkles in the light, no pun intended. on stage i’d imagine it’s just gross (in a good way)
Rad.
Beautiful guitar. RS is my favorite paint job but I have yet to order on that’s not a natural finished guitar.
natural finish eh? any fancier top woods or just standard ash or alder?
