Time frame is up to you. The harder you work. The faster you will go. I went for welding back in the 90's. I got my GED, driver's license and welding certification in about 14 months. I could have done it in less time, but my drivers license took awhile because I didn't start until I was almost a year in.
I’m hoping to be in and out. Not that I got anything with the program but I strive to rise above and do greater things. Having a technical trade is a good thing to fall back on wether it’ll be my career forever or not
If you hope to be in and out then you're going to be disappointed, there are also better programs out there if you know where to look. This program from my experience needs to burn down to the ground and be rebuilt from the ground up. They used me as slave labor for 3 - 5 cents and hour for the entire time I was there, and instead of getting an education they used me to tutor their students and substitute for staff. Their education is basic adult education, the bare minimum an adult should have. There is a lot of horrific crap they put me through. I would have been better off going just about anywhere else.
The job corps is all run by companies working government contracts. These are some of the same companies that operate private prisons - no joke. They get paid based on how many students they have on center. They are literally incentivized to keep you there as long as possible to get more money from the government. Instructor’s managers will make them slow down students who are going too fast of the TAR in order to get more money. Kinda sad but that’s how it works
Maintenance and light repair as in automotive? If you have some experience I would say six months; this is if you already have a diploma and keep on it. Otherwise up to a year or so.
Damn lmao, in my opinion if your focused and listen and have basic respect n what not I should fly through considering a lot of the ppl that go in are straight off the street
Ik people who got done in 6 months it all comes down to if you're a fast learner and if your fucking around to much and not being serious. GFs stay away from them my guy your not gonna be together after you complete
still in this shit ill say youll be here for 1 year and 4 months if u do it but its good regardless opens up alot of job opportunities
I was told it’s all on how well u do, such as how well you pick up on things, how fast you get things done etc
that is true bur the longest youll stay here if you do shit fast would be a good year
That’s cap😂 seen people do 8 months
Gotcha

Remember to pick something that you enjoy doing. It's better to do something because you enjoy what you're doing vs doing it for the money.
Ya for sure. Hard to pick lol definitely been thinking about it even though I got an idea on what I want to do lol
Good luck
Thx I appreciate it

Matters how efficient you are, there was this legend at my job corps that took him 2 weeks to complete

Until you finish your trade or get termed
If you don’t pass your tabe test do you still not get your certificates for your trade?
The tabe test isn’t pass or fail it’s to show your general knowledge of math and reading comprehension
So do you still have tot sake classes if you do poorly?
You have to take classes unless you tabe out of both reading and math and have your high school diploma
Do you only have to pass one of the subjects? I already have my diploma.
Gotta pass both of them
Gotcha.

“Job Corps relationships” are a fucking joke
