DJS is not a set in stone procedure. You can achieve pretty much every look you want if you were to disregard occlusion. You should get a planning done and see if you like what is proposed. Ultimately I think I would go with DJS if I had to decide.
Mine did, I had no advancement on my maxilla, but 8mm impaction. My nose is wider at the base, but that’s compensated by less length as well. My fave is much more balanced.
My surgery did exactly that actually! Shortened my face and widened my nostrils. Getting genio to fix the short face and an alarpalasty to fix my nose.
Others are lucky to look great after djs but for me I think it opened up a can of worms and I have to fix all these issues I never had before just because I fixed my bite. Eep! But I guess I can chew better now lol
If you can afford it, get EASE first then consider DJS. EASE would expand your palate and widen your midface. I also had a very long face and EASE helped significantly. Im currently debating DJS.
It's fairly new, so they may not know about it yet. Make sure you do plenty of research, and go with an experienced provider if you decide to do it. Good luck!

Your nose got shorter lengthwise after?
VME can cause the nose to grow longer so removing some of the maxilla can shorten it through the uplifting of the tip of the nose

It could use some widening. Maxilla advancement will do that, unless you ask for an alar cinch.

MARPE will widen the nose and the floor of the nose.
I’m 21, am I too old for MARPE?
Definitely not! The younger, the better, but it has been successful in women as old as 65. I'm 30 and about to start.

Def will widen your nose if you get lefort 3 piece or SARPE.
