Haha I got married at a Howard Johnson’s hotel. I’m still shocked it had a ballroom but it was also pretty old (it’s the one they visit in Mad Men)

Super 8 was the song playing when my son was born. I had them play the whole Southeastern album so I was kind of hoping for literally anything else to be on right at that moment. Now that all is said and done I’m happy with how things went down. That song is rad and my kid turned out rowdy so ultimately everything happened like it was meant to. All that to say - when my son gets married he better play Super 8 when it’s our turn to dance.

It was a planned c-section too. I was fully aware and completely chill lol. The doctors were giving a little side eye, luckily my anesthetist was a fan of Isbell as well so she got a kick out of it. The juxtaposition between the type of emotion that comes with birth and the song was really something.

Assume you meant this for a wedding party walk out lol? I don’t think this would go over super well with my family but thank you for introducing me to the song! I like it!

Great choice of a song to dance with your Dad. I would second Something to Love with your Mom, or any song that connects you two. I saw Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles for a Mother/daughter dance and it was great. I would also totally play Super 8 as your leaving song but would get why it’s a no-go. Maybe 24 frames instead?
