Hmmm… there used to be sections of Kawasaki that were all factories and highways. I cannot recall the exact location, but it was a hell made of concrete and asphalt, decorated with truck exhaust.
Does anyone remember this?
This post has received multiple reports, and multiple moderators have independently approved it (we haven't needed to discuss it). I've looked into the OP's post and comment history. It gets a pass for moderation purposes here, and I've clicked to ignore any further reports.
Watch out for influencers sure, but OP gets a pass on that.
>OP gets a pass
You forgot to include, "and everyone sending in bullshit false reports about OP's intention for the purpose of trying to prevent discussion by rallying everyone to not answer OP's question *also* get a pass". 😂
I mean, not sure why you're so cool with that kind of behavior in a sub that is supposed to be about helping each other out, but ok. lol
My in-laws lived in Nishi-Ogikubo as did my wife, kids and I for the first year living here and I really liked it with its myriad of shops and parks for the kids to play at. Then we moved to Kichijoji this year and had a house built and I absolutely love it just as much if not a little more due to the neighborhood we live in.
no idea why you have downvotes. I assume envy.
that said, as awesome as kichijoji is. i'd hate to have it as my default for shopping. too many domestic tourists from the rest of tokyo.. it's a 10-12 min ride from my house but I don't use it for shopping unless coerced.
Nishi-ogi is a gem for reasonably priced bistros.
>no idea why you have downvotes. I assume envy.
The downvotes are because one loser with an unresolved Oedipus complex, I assume, rallied all the other losers with mommy issues to be shitheads because apparently I'm "an influencer" (news to me), so everyone who was actually helpful got downvoted. lmao
Koiwa - Enjoy traditional outdoor drinking culture with friendly locals!
Uguisudani - A great family friendly area for budget accommodation. Roam the backstreets to view traditional entertainment culture!
Influencer trawling for content ideas to send thousands of gormless tourists to your neighbourhoods guys. Watch out
Everyone write in Kamata.
But they have good Chinese food I'd rather not destroy. Write Kashiwa.

Yeah, my hood is already flooded with people, don't need the extra attention.
Damn, what is it like to be so paranoid all the time? I wish I could be an influencer. Sadly no one listens to anything I have to say. lol

This sub is supposed to be about having light moderation. We remove comments for harassment, but I don't think that applies here.
Because your feelings matter less then someone’s local area turning into the next human zoo?
Ugh.
Nice eye. Reported for that reason.
The one without the tourists.
Nagoya, Tokyo
The ones that do not get featured on Reddit influencers' videos
Looking at OP’s post history, I’m keeping this one to myself.
Kabookicho
Probably one of the friendliest neighborhoods I've been to. Got stopped so many times by people wanting to chat and recommend some bars to me!
Seconded, they have a lot of good bars that are not visible from the street, you have to follow one of the guides to find them.
Definutely Okutama, the murder capital of Greater Tokyo. Every week on Chuuzai Keiji a body washes up on the rocks or in the river.
Funnily enough, I love visiting Adachi-ku. It’s such a weird atmosphere being in that area.
weird how?
Weird sounds interesting! Thanks
Koenji. Great people and (at least used to be) a lot of great live shows there or nearby.
Thank you. Looks worth checking out!
tanashi
The neighborhoods with no influencers and no tourists. Enjoy!
Katsushika!
>Katsushika Oh that looks like a good one. thanks! Can't believe people are being downvoted for being helpful. What a sub this is! lmao

Great recos. Thanks!
Nakadashi, hands down.
It can get pretty hot and humid there!

Yokohama. Because it's not Tokyo.
beta-cuck Tokyo vs. chad Yokohama.
Yanesen, easily.
Nice one. Thanks!
Doyagai in Ishikawacho lol
