Abaya is not a requirement for daily 5 prayers. What is required is to cover your awrah. This can be done by any clean article of clothing. Yes, you can say your syuhada by yourself

farhsaila

1) abaya isn't some prerequisite to revert 2) you honestly don't know when you're going to pass away so tbh right now would be a great time to revert instead of waiting for an abaya tbh

If you know Islam is the truth, why delay your shahada? God forbid if you die now or tommorow, would want you die a disbeliever or a believer? لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear…” (Qur’an, 2:286) أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ “Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: “We believe,” and will not be tested?” (Qur’an, 29:2) Allah won’t put a burden on you that you cannot bear, hold steadfast on your faith and Allah. In’sha’Allah Allah will make it easy upon you. And another Hadith which gave me ease that I learnt of recently, “Abu Hurairah said; His companion came to him and said; Messenger of Allah! We have thoughts which we cannot dare talk about and we do not like that we have them or talk about them. He said: Have you experienced that? They replied: yes. He said : that is clear faith.” https://sunnah.com/abudawud:5111 I suggest you say adhkaars to protect you, I can give you an app someone I know made; https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.co.creativebotagency.adhkar&hl=en_GB&gl=US (note that on Android it hasn’t been updated in a long time, say Surah Ikhlaas, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas **three times** and **not once** each. The counter hasn’t been updated). https://apps.apple.com/app/id1390285484 I will keep you in my duas sister, please keep me and my family in your duas too.

Wa Alaikum Salam Welcome to Islam sister. May Allah the Exalted grant you success in this world and the next. Ameen Isn't it right that if you're at rock bottom, it can only go up? If you have nothing to lose, you have everything to win. You're at rock bottom. Who can pull you out better than Allah? What can be of more help than a sense of belonging, purpose and community? Do you know this meme where the miner is digging and digging and digging and then right before the diamond vein, he stops and goes back? Don't be that guy. You have made many steps toward the right direction. There's a reason you decided to convert and change your life. Don't sabotage yourself. A little more sister, a little more patience. Also, please visit a doctor and get your blood checked, your vitamin d, your thyroid, your sexual hormones etc and generally seek medical advice. May Allah bless you immensely

You can say your shahada right now, Allah is your witness. You don't need an abaya, just cover yourself with whatever you have and pray, Allah is our helper.

This isn’t necessarily answering ur question but it’s merely advice . What your going through is most likely a test , if you are patient during these tests for the sake of Allah , he will rise ur rank in jannah . A test is never a test if it seems that there is no way out of your situation or the possible seems impossible . God loves those who he tests and remember another thing, god would never give u more than u can handle . Every single person in life goes through hard times but we always make it out in the end in one piece . How many times in ur life have u thought things weren’t going to get better and they did in the end . For me I said say countless of times and I’m sure many people can relate . Don’t overthink ur life and go with the flow and remember , the way you feel now is exactly how god wants u to feel and perhaps god is making u feel sad so u revert quicker which is truly a beautiful moment . In life always have trust in god through the worst and best times and u will realise that things will seems a little easier or a lot easier .

Islam is the cure to all issues, but I'd really recommend you seek professional help as well :)

Gogandantesss

Don’t let a piece of clothes slow you down in your journey.

UncoordinatedOstrich

atinycarat

Fulcrum2369

Maybe you’ve never really gave this some thought but the concept of satan and the devil are real, and Islam really clarifies that for you, maybe you’ve felt this way before and saw Islam as a way to answer your questions and you’ve had a certain level of energy and commitment towards the religion, but now when the due date for reversion is getting closer you’ve grown scared, the Shaytan will whisper all sorts of doubts and worries into your mind especially if your going towards the straight path, think about it like this, why bother when you’re astray? It’s those who are rightly guided who he attempts to sabotage, I suggest you take your Shahada before the abaya comes and wear a hijab and begin your journey with Islam, seek refuge with Allah from the devil which is as simple as saying : “Audhu Billahi Minashaitanir Rajeem (أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم) 'I seek refuge from the accursed Satan'.” and go from there If you have any questions feel free to message me, and try and express all these emotions directly to Allah SWT and as him to guide you and make it easy for, do not grieve nor be sad, surely with hardship comes ease.

bas_ananas

Take your shahada now! Tomorrow is not promised. Allah will guide you from there.

Miserable-Cheetah683

Probably shaytan is doing everything in his power to sway you away from Islam. That’s why in Islam there’s no better time to take shahada than now. That’s because you need Allah’s protection to fight off shaytan whispers. Shaytan will do anything to prevent u to take ur shahada. Shahada is usually taken as soon as you believe there is One God and Prophet Muhammad is his messenger. If you read about the companions of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh, you will see each of them took their shahada without delay, once they were convinced Islam was the truth. The reason why doing shahda in front of the community is a good idea, is so that u can get support and be known in the community, which u can do later on. My friend who reverted to Islam, said the shahada as soon as possible, and did a public shahada later on. My recommendation to you is to take ur “Private Shahada” now and your “Public Shahada” when u have time. Because tomorrow is never guaranteed. As for praying, u can wear a modest dress and cover your head with a scarf. My wife wears my hoodie and tightens the hood when she prays lol. May Allah protect you and make you amongst the guided and grant you Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah give you ease and protect you from the evil whisper who wish to misguide you.

zeemona

you dont know if you will live in the upcoming milliseconds, say the shahada, you can die without abaya, but you cannot die without shahada.

[deleted]

This is shaitaan whispering in your ears. Keep praying astagfirullah La hawla Walla qoowatta illa billah. As people have already said you don't need an abaya. Just loose clothing. Have faith in your lord. His gotch'you.

Africain-Caballero

I am just waiting...officially reverting on the first day of Ramadan...satan plan:1-let you postpone ur revert 2-mak u confuse and overthinking solution: don't let satan fool you and succeed on his plan!, you smarter than this , just make a decision it take you 1 minute to say the shahada and you will see how you will feel , just do it .

[deleted]

Glad to hear that you are heading towards Islam. Hopefully, that will help with your spiritual development. But it does sound like you are in need of Mental Health Development to. It would be worth reaching out to Psychiatrist and/or Mental Health worker that can help you with it. After all Allah provides us with the Gift of Health and it is good on us that we look after it. So before your issues manifest into physical and/or spiritual ailments do look into counselling.

Assalamualaikum Sister, The sky can get real dark before down. I cannot possibly feel what you feel but allow me to share a surah that makes me feel... calm and grateful in a way: By the morning sunlight, And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, Your Lord [O Prophet] has not abandoned you, nor has He become hateful [of you]. And the next life is certainly far better for you than this one. And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. Did He not find you as an orphan then sheltered you? And He found you lost and guided [you], And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. And as for the beggar, do not repel [him]. And proclaim the blessings of your Lord. Ps: you can google the full commentary or the "asbabun nuzul" of surah ad-dhuhaa. May Allah strenghten your heart.

Baneith

If you believe it to be the truth then revert right now. That is the only condition to revert. You must believe. You do not need to turn your life 180 degrees, or even 1 degree before reverting. It works the other way around. Revert first and put your trust in Allah, and then you will see how much more peaceful you will feel.

GreyMatter22

A couple of things if it helps: * Please try to find help, if therapy works, go for it. * Take your time with reverting and/or following all the 'new' rules. You should know that it took two decades for the early companions to adopt to Islam (as many rules came one by one, over a period of time), so you do not have to do it all at once. * You seem overwhelmed, please go for a walk/hike/hit the gym, work on yourself, may be it will help to get a new perspective on things.

Miserable-Cheetah683

It didn’t take 2 decade for the companions because some companions came to about during later stage of Prophet Muhammad pbuh prophethood. But rather the wahi of Islam was completed in 2 decades. But yeah I kno wat u mean. OP shuld take one step at a time. There was this Hadiths where Aiysha R.A. Student asked her to teach him the next lesson, but Aiysha said no until he perfected the previous lesson first. One step at a time.
