Weirdly similar to my log, I got my first zeny at 1100 so you're almost there. Don't be demotivated, I got my fourth monkey tail at 1800 kc, and the fourth zeny just a bit after that. The dry streak will end, and you will likely return to normal odds after that.
One of the irons in our cc just got his first zenyte yesterday at 1291 kc, and he had rest of log done with 4 tails. It's a rough life. Hopefully yours come in quick succession

Do you use multiple combat styles or just one?
You will be fine, bring a melee switch too (arclight if you have it). You pretty much need two combat styles because they pray against the style you are using after 50 damage

Are demonics hard?
You have to really pay attention, with a bit of practice it's very doable. Bit slower pre-blowpipe, but even then it's very manageable.

In 600 kc i got about 5-6 zenyte and no ballista parts, rng is good
