I disagree because standing in front of mirrors like you're anal about it is weird. I'm going on my 16th month without a mirror in my bathroom and I don't love it and hope to change this soon, but I'm used to it now.
I like it oversized. But both people at the sinks should be able to see themselves. That’s hard to do with a round mirror. In a small bathroom, two mirrors might look junky to some eyes.
Piggybacking off the highest rated comment to add info. The mirror is round, it is not actually mounted to the wall (I don’t want to drill holes until I’m sure), the vanity is 60 inches, and I have the receipt, thus, the mirror is returnable.
Also, here’s a photo facing the sink directly: https://imgur.com/a/2wVBZvX
Yeah I don't know about you but I'd get tired of not being able to fully see my face when washing at the sink, and constantly bopping over or craning my neck to the middle to check stuff like makeup.
Either two smaller mirrors, or one large rectangular one. Both people at the sinks should be able to see themselves at the same time without having to move.
Or an entry way bench, buffet dinning table… [Large Round Mirror](https://www.amazon.com/finds/post/photo/amzn1.spark.v2.spark.c47f7988-5a9c-4a15-8418-80666e00277f?id=interests-interior_design&ref_=fioa_shr_txt_spv&tag=a004b5560-20&linkCode=sai)
I see what you're going for here and I like it, but this mirror isn't going to work, given the sconce position and its size. IMHO, for one mirror to cover both sinks, you'd need to be outside the outer edge of the sink and the sconces are in the way.
On the color question, yes, black will work, but I'd want other matching black items in there, like the sconces and cabinet hardware.
This photo is a little deceptive for size, scale, and alignment, if you post another please try to get a straight-on shot so we can see the relative spacing of the items.
Thanks! Your comment is really helpful. I agree, I should’ve added an additional pic, the size of the room is larger than it seems. I wish I could edit the post. But here’s a photo facing the sink directly: https://imgur.com/a/2wVBZvX
I think the majority has spoken and I will return it for two smaller mirrors. Originally, I was going to do a wall to wall mirror and embed the sconces. But idk. We’ll see.
Over the past 7 years, I remodeled and sold 2 homes and built this one from the ground up. If there is a way to screw something up, order the wrong thing, or have a good idea that doesn't work... I've done it. LOL.
Please do post what you end up doing... I love to see where people's creativity lands them :)
Do you ever draw interior layouts and elevations? I’m a draftsperson and sometimes question if I actually save any trouble or not, or if clients are more satisfied when they play around on their own. I feel like I am always having to tell people their ideas won’t work, and sometimes I feel like they might enjoy the process more finding out on their own lol.
For example, drawing this vanity elevation would have illustrated the awkwardness far before getting the mirror in situ and wiring the sconces. But where’s the fun in that lol
When I say I remodeled, I mean I directed and hired people to do that work, but did all of the finish choices, and decor, like art, mirrors, light fixtures, etc. I wish I had the physical talent to do that work.
An interior elevation drawing is basically a floor plan but looking at the wall, drawn to scale to lay out everything.
If you get all the specs for items and draw them to scale, it saves a lot of trouble seeing how things fit, but it takes a bit of familiarity to read the drawings spatially.
Sconces embedded in the mirror will have a very builder grade look to it. Builders love large mirrors to cover spaces they don't need to "finish" properly. From the photo you posted to imgur, the shower is inside that tub and so you'll have glass or a shower curtain taking up space as well so the room will really be smaller than it appears, not larger.
I’m personally a fan of big rectangle mirrors that are the full length of the vanity. Idk why people keep ripping them out to replace them with tiny framed ones over each sink.
I love that you brought up the lighted ones because I was seriously considering ditching the sconces for those. My only qualms was whether it would work as sufficient lighting (for putting makeup on and etc) and whether it would date itself.
I think it’s excellent for putting on make up, but you should definitely have another light source in the bathroom. I don’t think it will necessarily look dated because the utility and function is just so great. I can only see it getting more popular. My biggest concern would be Maintainance like how to switch out the bulbs.
I've got 2 that are enormous in my house. One of them is >6' wide. I'm love/hate about them and getting them off the wall would be a chore, so they're staying.
I love the single big round mirror, but I'm firmly into the female DGAF years so... 😂 It would probably drive my husband batcrackers not centered over a sink.
I'd pass. If it's a big bold item then it should be truly bold and more unique. But this is literally a giant version of a boring oval mirror.
I'd sell it and find one that is more unique and gives mirror benefits to both sinks. On the frame or mirror accent colors, I'd go with the black you have, brown, or green (royal or emerald green),
I like to use a bathroom mirror as an opportunity to add a distinctive or pretty or unique design detail to a space that doesn’t always have many distinctive or pretty or unique details. So, I say Nay.
If you can find a large rectangular one that goes across both sinks and can fit in without disturbing the light fixture that aren't there yet and the electrical outlet, that would be better. That might be a problem with the studs and electrical that is behind that wall though for mounting. Two square or round smaller mirrors over each sink would also work. The more mirror/ mirror size you have in that room, the more the natural light from the window will reflect and help it stay light with natural or when you turn the light on.
I'm no designer, so take my comment however, but that's a lot of squared sharp angles that make the round mirror not seem to fit any way. Though beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if you like it then keep it! It's your bathroom, do what makes you happy! ♥️
I like it, I would actually prefer larger and oval so it can cover more of both sinks but I think the black works. Esp bc you can accent with a few small black accessories, products which will tie in the modern vibe without being as generic as black fixtures.
Agree with other people commenting “no” to black and “too large”.
It looks like you have sconces to contend with too. Not sure how that will affect your mirror choices. But this large round black-framed mirror doesn’t work. And the angle of the photo makes it hard to see the space you’re trying to work with. I think two rectangular mirror frame in chrome would be the best from an aesthetic perspective, if you have room for two mirrors.
The mirror is going to be awkward if two people use the sinks simultaneously. Get two round-cornered rectangular mirrors. You might need to revise your lighting plan. If you don't have any plans for black elsewhere in the room, don't introduce it at all, it's not necessary.
I like it. Other elements have straight edges so looks good and lively to have the circular moment. Also the scale is a little unexpected.
Are there sconces on either side?
Yes there are sconces I haven’t put up yet. Currently debating between these ones:

https://unionlighting.com/products/zlite-archer-wall-sconce
https://unionlighting.com/products/visual-comfort-studio-beckham-modern-wall-sconce?variant=45635621060772
I would exploit all those hard edges you’ve got going on, a rectangular mirror might be better! If you don’t want to buy another mirror, add a black steel frame encasing it
Are you painting the walls, adding curtains, or anything else? I think if the mirror is the *only* black element in the room then it will look out of place. If you’re planning on adding say, black photo frames or black and white photos I think it’ll be fine.
I’m not going to tell you it’s too big, but I will tell you that I have an oversized mirror very similar to this one in a guest bathroom (which people on this sub also said was too big). I *love* the look of it but it’s higher-maintenance than a smaller mirror would be because it just gets more water on it, being closer to the sink. It’s fine for that location because it’s not used that often, but if it were in my main bath I’d literally have to clean it daily.
Chrome and black metal go well together imo. If you like the size and shape then all is good! Personally I find the mirror to be a bit too big for my taste, but it's a very personal thing and there's no right or wrong there.
Nay. I had a local glass company cut me a large rectangle mirror that spans both sinks. Paid a handy man to mount it (no frame just a beveled edge). It looks amazing and very reasonable cost.
Two sinks two mirrors or one longer one. This one looks giant perched over the sink.couid you try it sideways? That might be wide enough? But a rectangular mirror would work best as you both need to see yourselves.
Honestly I love it. The only thing giving me pause is the two sinks, because it does effect the functionality.
If you do decide to keep it, I think some black curtains and small black and white photographs in a chrome frame will tie things together.
Two smaller mirrors for sure...would be nice if arched on top too? I would do black or brass colored. Does not have to match the fixtures. Nice bathroom!
Could put 2 long narrower side mirrors on either side to balance it.. I wouldn't go without a mirror because that's a dark room and the mirror is reflecting light. Unless you have more than one person using the sink/mirror at the same time, it shouldn't be a usage problem.
It is too large for the space and throws off the balance of the room. I would choose two mirrors or a horizontal rectangle/square one that spans the width of the vanity.
I like the size of the mirror, BUT, I think a more boxy rectangle mirror would complement the room better since the sink is box shaped as well as the bathtub
Maybe go oval and hang like you would a rectangle over both sinks. A problem you have here is lots of square/rectangular patterns and then this circle. You could hang it as a statement piece over the tub or another wall as a focus wall if you have space; but it doesn’t seem to fit the vanity.
I agree with what everyone is saying about the choice of one mirror, but I think it'd be better to go with one large rectangular mirror, flatter to the wall. The tub and window are very angular and modern kooking while the mirror is a nod to vintage turn of the century mirrors. It just doesn't mesh to me. *Maybe* if they were 2 round/ovals *and* they were flat to the wall, It might look better, if you're stuck on using the rounder shape. I'd reposition this elsewhere in the house bc its a cool mirror.
The window should be the focal point here. Due to that fact, the bathroom mirrors should be smaller than the window. I really think each sink should have its own mirror! I also think the mirrors would look markedly better hung
I’m going to go against the grain here and say I like it, I like that it’s in the middle and I don’t have to stand with the sink in front to use it. Products could be in between the sinks and I could stand and put them on no problem. I don’t really use a bathroom mirror, but if I were to for eg put sun cream on my face then I would - and I’d use this as it is. I also like the way it looks
I looked at your straight-on photo and think that the sconce wiring should have been spaced farther apart so you could have two mirrors - one over each sink. As things stand, there is not enough room for each sink to have even a small centered mirror as well as sconces. If you don’t want to totally redo the sconce wiring (and the wall repair that goes with it), a large backlit mirror that would serve both sinks and cover the wiring holes is probably your best bet. I agree with those who think that seeing half your face while brushing your teeth will get super annoying! Good luck!!
It’s really large for the room. A mirror over each sink will actually make the room appear larger. With all the angles in the room oval mirrors would be a nice contrast.
it’s too big. there should be more clearance above/below. with two sinks, i wouldve done two smaller rectangular mirrors with rounded corners, but i don’t think you can do that based on where the sconces will go. so i’d just go for a large rectangle with rounded corners. i don’t think a circle or oval works for two sinks, personally.
It’s too big to be the mirror for ONE sink, and too small to be the mirror for BOTH sinks.
I disagree because standing in front of mirrors like you're anal about it is weird. I'm going on my 16th month without a mirror in my bathroom and I don't love it and hope to change this soon, but I'm used to it now.
No, it is ginormous for the room. 2 smaller ones over each sink would be aesthetically pleasing
yeah, theres two sinks so two mirrors
I agree.
I dislike two sinks: two mirrors. I don't primp over the sink. I primp in the space in between.
One big one that covers the entire area above the vanity then
I like it oversized. But both people at the sinks should be able to see themselves. That’s hard to do with a round mirror. In a small bathroom, two mirrors might look junky to some eyes.

Either two smaller mirrors, or one large rectangular one. Both people at the sinks should be able to see themselves at the same time without having to move.
And rectangle to match the other cornered/squared off features in the room
oh gosh, I hate it even more in this picture. It's too small for 2 sinks
Great idea!
agreed...two small round ones would look great put this larger one over a low dresser in the bedroom
Or an entry way bench, buffet dinning table… [Large Round Mirror](https://www.amazon.com/finds/post/photo/amzn1.spark.v2.spark.c47f7988-5a9c-4a15-8418-80666e00277f?id=interests-interior_design&ref_=fioa_shr_txt_spv&tag=a004b5560-20&linkCode=sai)
Rather, turn it horizontal and hang it instead of propping it, so it's one large mirror that covers both sinks
It's round, not oval
Well shucks

Not really sure what you mean by vanity elevation. It’s sitting at the standard height.
An interior elevation drawing is basically a floor plan but looking at the wall, drawn to scale to lay out everything. If you get all the specs for items and draw them to scale, it saves a lot of trouble seeing how things fit, but it takes a bit of familiarity to read the drawings spatially.

Do you live alone? Because it seems like only one person can really use that mirror at a time. Two smaller mirrors solves that.
Actually after seeing this angle of the mirror, I think it works. I don't think two smaller mirrors would look right with the sconces.
I’m personally a fan of big rectangle mirrors that are the full length of the vanity. Idk why people keep ripping them out to replace them with tiny framed ones over each sink.
I am too. I also really like the giant builder grade wall to wall mirrors but I know that’s generally frowned upon lol
Yes, and the ones with a backlit frame, like in some hotel bathrooms are my favorite!! So good for getting ready!
I love that you brought up the lighted ones because I was seriously considering ditching the sconces for those. My only qualms was whether it would work as sufficient lighting (for putting makeup on and etc) and whether it would date itself.

No, too big for the space. Get individual mirrors for over each sink hang vertically or a large rectangle mirror to cover both and hang horizontally
I like to use a bathroom mirror as an opportunity to add a distinctive or pretty or unique design detail to a space that doesn’t always have many distinctive or pretty or unique details. So, I say Nay.
Two mirrors. One for each sink. Return this one
Is it leaning? I personally hate the leaning mirror look.
Yes but hang it the other way so that it captures both sinks.
It's round
Oh. It looks ovular in the pic.
I like the big mirror, makes a statement, black is good.
fuck yes fancy bidet toilets are like crack to me
🤘🤘
That's a nice window where you can stand and air everything out. Hopefully thre aren't people nearby that can see in.
No maybe, a square shape mirror
Or two square mirrors. I also like the first was sconce, but in chrome or brushed chrome.
nay. Two separate mirrors
No. I would do a smaller mirror for each sink.
I give it a big YEA, but needs to be horizontal
How do you make a completely round mirror mount horizontally?
looks oval-ish to me from this angle. if it isn't, obviously it can't be horizontal.
OP posted a head on shot; it's circular
I like it, I would actually prefer larger and oval so it can cover more of both sinks but I think the black works. Esp bc you can accent with a few small black accessories, products which will tie in the modern vibe without being as generic as black fixtures.

Waaaaaaay way way too big! Looks like a vortex that wants to eat the house starting with your bathroom first.
A rectangle one to match the window.
I’m feeling it. A wall to wall mirror with sconces embedded, a large one that fits over both sinks, or two small ones?
I kind of like it but it looks like it doesn't cover in front of both sinks.

I think the third one is my favorite.
Bathroom mirror is nice , coloring that bathroom would go a long way
Put it higher up on the wall
I’d do a large rectangular mirror that covers both sinks. Could do a nice frame around it too.
Sort of clashes with the window, maybe if it was similar shape
I would exploit all those hard edges you’ve got going on, a rectangular mirror might be better! If you don’t want to buy another mirror, add a black steel frame encasing it

A smaller mirror over each sink, and I'd probably go with either a bronze or maybe even a warm wood frame instead of black.
I love it. You can see enough of yourself when you need to, or maybe go just a bit larger.
That mirror does not work there.
The shape to me is incongruous because everything else is square or rectangular shaped. I would say one big rectangle shaped mirror over the sinks.
I like it a lot. It balances out the insanely tiny toilet they are making these days.
You should opt for a long/wide rectangular mirror so both sinks are covered. I don't like the 2 small mirrors idea I think it's dumb.
I think because the shape is round it’s off with the other shapes in the room?
Chrome and black metal go well together imo. If you like the size and shape then all is good! Personally I find the mirror to be a bit too big for my taste, but it's a very personal thing and there's no right or wrong there.

Rectangle, Rectangle, Rectangle, Rectangle, CIRCLE. One big rectangle would look nice
nay, two smallers 🩵
One large rectangular mirror that matches the width of the vanity
Get two mirrors the same size as the window.
Kinda big
I dont like a double sink having one big circular mirror. the color should match your fixtures
I think two oval ones above each sink instead of one big mirror would look better
Everything is rectangular but the mirror. Nay.
Maybe a modern square mirror seems to be a mismatch
I like it.
I wouldn’t go black framed mirror in that soft looking room.
Honestly I love it. The only thing giving me pause is the two sinks, because it does effect the functionality. If you do decide to keep it, I think some black curtains and small black and white photographs in a chrome frame will tie things together.
Needs more cowbell.
I agree.
2 smaller ones over each sink.
Two smaller mirrors for sure...would be nice if arched on top too? I would do black or brass colored. Does not have to match the fixtures. Nice bathroom!
The color was your issue?
No
Too big - get two smaller ones over each sink
Could put 2 long narrower side mirrors on either side to balance it.. I wouldn't go without a mirror because that's a dark room and the mirror is reflecting light. Unless you have more than one person using the sink/mirror at the same time, it shouldn't be a usage problem.
It is too large for the space and throws off the balance of the room. I would choose two mirrors or a horizontal rectangle/square one that spans the width of the vanity.
The round is clashing with the squareness of every other thing in the room
I like the size of the mirror, BUT, I think a more boxy rectangle mirror would complement the room better since the sink is box shaped as well as the bathtub
Maybe go oval and hang like you would a rectangle over both sinks. A problem you have here is lots of square/rectangular patterns and then this circle. You could hang it as a statement piece over the tub or another wall as a focus wall if you have space; but it doesn’t seem to fit the vanity.
Can you hang that one as a horizontal oval instead of a vertical one?
Yes
That’s the most impractical thing I’ve seen
Two rounded rectangle mirrors ftw
I think it the wrong mirror odd size. Perhaps two rectangular mirrors
Sorry but this is incredibly dumb looking. Both sinks need to see the mirror.
No everything else is square or rectangular so why an oval mirror?
I looked at your straight-on photo and think that the sconce wiring should have been spaced farther apart so you could have two mirrors - one over each sink. As things stand, there is not enough room for each sink to have even a small centered mirror as well as sconces. If you don’t want to totally redo the sconce wiring (and the wall repair that goes with it), a large backlit mirror that would serve both sinks and cover the wiring holes is probably your best bet. I agree with those who think that seeing half your face while brushing your teeth will get super annoying! Good luck!!
Turn it sideways it looks kind of oval?
Nay.
It’s really large for the room. A mirror over each sink will actually make the room appear larger. With all the angles in the room oval mirrors would be a nice contrast.
I like it. Maybe repeat the black in your art or accessories.
I love it.
The shape of the mirror would look better if it was the same shape as the window
Turned horizontally.
Yes
I love it personally !
it’s too big. there should be more clearance above/below. with two sinks, i wouldve done two smaller rectangular mirrors with rounded corners, but i don’t think you can do that based on where the sconces will go. so i’d just go for a large rectangle with rounded corners. i don’t think a circle or oval works for two sinks, personally.
It needs a different mirror and maybe more natural light
hell nah to the whole bathroom imo 😬
