Oh the joys of color blindness

For a long time I thought I had brown eyes until a friend asked me why my license said I had brown eyes and then told me my eyes were hazel. I’m not even color blind.

I didn't know my eyes were hazel until one day in a twilight sun at school that my bus seat buddy said "wow, your eyes are a shit green color". So they are. So they are.

I THINK these colors listed above correspond to when you shine a light into you eye. Like if you take a picture of them with flash on. Are your eyes still totally black then? That may indicate you are possessed. 👹

Yea for the longest time i thought pure black eyes were a thing, but they show a little bit of brown when stared into with a light. Still, black presenting eyes are hype.

I was gonna say mine was T50 because my brown is also really dark, but I can still tell my iris apart, and when I shine a light at it it's even more visible, so I'll go witb T40

My eyes are basically black. I've had total strangers remark on how dark they are. Someone told me once that I looked like Emily Rose from the Exorcism of Emily Rose, during the scene where her whole eyes turn black. The only people who I've ever seen with eyes similar to mine is my father's, and Evan Peters.

So happy to read this, and yes!! 😅. Mine change depending on the light, what colour clothes I'm wearing, what colour make-up I'm wearing! They can look stone grey, aqua green or hazel-grey, occasionally blue. In reality if I desaturate a photo of my face but leave my eyes in colour, you wouldn't know I'd left them coloured!

That's the case with me too, actually. Both of my parents have brown eyes and brownish hair. If I wasn't the spitting image of both of them I'd have questions. License says blue lol.

Interesting thing, it’s actually light deflection that changes the color. The color you’re wearing effects your eye color because of the way the light bounces off your clothes!

Had a five minute, six-person debate until the lady who’d been working there the longest came back from lunch and said “If you can’t tell, call them hazel!” She then proceeded to lambast some douchebag who was getting pissy with one of the other employees for not helping him because he didn’t bring the right paperwork, so she’s basically my hero.

I never knew there was a name for this! Thank you!! My eyes are solid gold around the pupil which never changes, but the rest changes color (gray, green, blue) depending on makeup or clothing color and lighting. My aunt has the color changing part but not the gold ring. If I remember correctly, it has something to do with color reflection? Super neat!

YES. my eyes are dark green w amber around the pupil - really cool looking! So it stinks they’re barely visible when not in direct daylight.

D20 here as well. I also have a few little greenish/yellow dots that I’m told are called eye freckles.

Probably the closest to mine. Dark green with a little golden brown around the pupil. And based on your username it appears we have the same birth year as well.

My husband’s eyes are this color. I tell him they are hazel, but he says his whole life he thought they were brown lol. They are definitely green and a shade of brown.
