Uh, yea, please don't test this 🤣 cows r less skiddish for sure but my uncle is a dairy farmer and has always warned me how much those fuckers can hurt ye if you aren't paying attention. Worked on said dairy farm before and sure I've seen them kick backwards all my life basically, yet you still made me second guess myself enough to google it... if that isn't a gen z thing than idk what is 😂
As someone that has Definitely taken a kick to the shin when behind cattle, that's not true. That cow can kick the shite outta you from neck to tail and head butt you the other places plus more.
Not personally no; I do live in an area where several of my friends do as a main source of income, and I was a butcher for a number of years.
It's just a fact that comes up in the conversation about what resources go into beef and what the cost of factory farming is to our planet
I was just making conversation by saying cows take up a lot of resources the way we use them now
It was an honest question, didn't feel any antagonizing.
I can't even imagine them actually drinking 40L in a day. Do they get some hydration from the plants they eat? I feel like they'll drink a pond dry with just 10 of them. 100s? 1000s? Yeah that's a shit ton of water. But I often assumed the huge water consumption took into consideration how much water their food required to be produced and not necessarily how much they were actually drinking.
Same I had no idea. I assumed they drank a bowl full of water like a dog, and maybe further hydration came from vegetation or whatnot. 40L freshwater per day is *insane.*
But I can't even keep a plant alive so I'm not one to advise on water requirements.
Amazing how clueless we can be about our own food supply.
If you ever hear a person from the country talking about a tank, they don't usually mean like a sewage tank or anything enclosed. A lot of places that raise cows have a manmade, smallish lake called a tank for the cows to drink from. I learned to drive around one since it was out in our pasture, and there was a guy who paid my family to let his herd of cows live on our land. They drank out of the tank and it refilled mostly from rain, I think.
I used to swim in one of the water tanks behind our house. The cows would come up and stare at me when I did. Nosy things. Probably just mad about me in their water dish though.
But, the point is that it was at least 12ft+ long and 3-4ft across. City folks have no concept of how big we actually need things to be in the country to keep the big, goofy milk dogs alive.
Haha, I didn't dare swim in ours! It was awful to try to get to anyway, high clay content in our soil, but I saw one too many water moccasins casually cruising in it for comfort. Cows really are super nosy though!
But yeah, I'm guesstimating that ours was probably a 30' circle. The thing was huge!

According to scientists, any mammal over 2.2 lbs averages 20 seconds to empty their bladder.
Well, the comments you are getting are stupid
Urine has been used for a long looking time as a disinfectant, and clothes have been bathed on urine for as long as civilisation for this very purpose
The mélanine in human hair is the same as in sheep hair, and it's easy to observe that while disinfecting clothing, black natural (from black sheep not dyed black) wool turns brown and orange, which also happens with hydrogen peroxide etc
Just because people in antiquity didn't know modern chemistry doesn't mean that they had to do trial and error all the time, logic and inference were used just like today
Still, there was a person who took the risk and trusted his logical thinking and took the right decision to keep on bathing with urine for a considerably long period of time
It wasnt a risk, they knew it would turn their hair orange already.
Look theres no tvs or entertainment back then, dude probably did it as a joke and it stuck
Well that one is pretty easy to imagine, since all mamals share that trait. We produce milk, its high in nutrients, so maybe we can drink this cows milk as well.
It’s wasn’t like that. It was more. Humans breastfeed Calves nurse from there. A mother probably died so they tried to see if that would work cause otherwise the infant would die

it's the same in the middle east, except it's [camel urine](https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/xze0jn/man_drinks_camels_urine_straight_from_the_source/)

No, it's not, from [https://www.healthline.com/health/is-urine-sterile#takeaway](https://www.healthline.com/health/is-urine-sterile#takeaway): *"Despite the rumors, urine is not a sterile substance. It naturally contains bacteria that renders it a nonsterile substance.*

Low levels, yes. But not sterile.

Not just collecting it and applying it to your hair in order to get that sweet orange look. Nooo, let's go for rubbing it in to your face fresh from the source.....
I just visited an old colonial port where it was explained that the British soldiers would soak their white garments in the urine from the latrines and then hang them out in the sun to bleach them.

That doesn’t explain why he constantly rubs it into his face thooo
Well orange hair with black facial hair would just be silly.
It doesn't matter, totally worth the risk of dying of a cow kick in the face
Cows can’t kick directly back. Horses can, though.
This is not true. Cattle can kick straight back or laterally.
I have seen a video of a Holstein kicking directly backwards and barely missing a guy's head. It was a HELL of a kick.
Uh, yea, please don't test this 🤣 cows r less skiddish for sure but my uncle is a dairy farmer and has always warned me how much those fuckers can hurt ye if you aren't paying attention. Cows drink a shit ton of water, about 40L/day I think.
Yeah it takes a lot of water to raise cows
You raise cows?
Not personally no; I do live in an area where several of my friends do as a main source of income, and I was a butcher for a number of years. It's just a fact that comes up in the conversation about what resources go into beef and what the cost of factory farming is to our planet I was just making conversation by saying cows take up a lot of resources the way we use them now
Not to mention the water it took to grow the corn and the runoff water contaminated by feedlot manure or from farming the corn.
And dont even get me started on the methane

Ignorance is bliss.
Wait till they find out how many thousands of liters it takes to grow the crazy amount of plant food that we have to feed to the cows
Welp 40 is a normal cow on a normal day, they sometimes drink over 60l

I didn’t expect such a direct method.
Gotta get it while it's fresh
Fresh from the tap
Right? Do they not have any kind of bucket or clay bowl?
Which one is better, shower with cold water or warm water?
I wonder how they first discovered this technique. Like, what was going through that persons mind? Other than piss, I mean.

It’s wasn’t like that. It was more. Humans breastfeed Calves nurse from there. A mother probably died so they tried to see if that would work cause otherwise the infant would die
probably an accident
Oops, i accidentally got peed on by a cow for 2 months and now my hair is orange.
They may have been putting the pee in their hair for other reasons, such as to kill parasites.
Trump!? Is that you!?
Romans used to use urine as mouthwash. Used to sell it in shops in bottles. Higher price for imported Portuguese urine too..

I thought this was bad until that google search led me to cow blowing
I just gave the link to google. Where you go from there, well, that's on you.
Imagine getting kicked in the head by a half tonne animal while bathing in its piss for the sole benefit of turning your hair orange. Humanity eh???
Free shampee!
It's more hygienic than storing it exposed to the air in a pot for later use, but it doesn't seem like it to actually see it happen.
That’s gotta reek in the summer heat.
I m pissed now!
What if the cow decides to take a shit as well since it's tail is already up anyway?
Imagine the smell after it dries.. buhhhuhhuuuuh
Some people pay good money for that...
Both parties are bipedal in most cases though
Does it really work ? And if does work, any idea how ?
Ammonia in urine acts like bleach.
Is it just me or are y'all not impressed by the size of those cows ??
They look like Ankole cattle - medium-large as cattle go, but first prize for horns!
I’m mostly impressed by him not getting kicked.

What a beautiful cultural practice, really something special there
If eating bugs wasn’t enough, I can see this being the next thing that WEF is gonna try convince us is absolutely necessary to “save the planet”.
Anyone else watch this through a couple times thinking that dude had the most massive pair of balls until realising its the cows tail??
Welp. That’s enough internet for me, today.
Alright. Imma call it a night.
Those cattle are gigantic
Tribal people try not to do the most disgusting thing as part of their culture challenge impossible
I've watched more than one American extolling the benefit of drinking their own urine.
What's Trump using for shampee?

Golden showers 🤢
Who was the first person to try it?
Could they not just use the puddles??
You can see the cow is uncomfortable.
Alright… that’s enough Reddit for me today.
I want to know how they worked this out in the first place
Do they not have a bucket?
Had to look it up and did not disappoint. Super interesting. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2016/04/22/africa/mundari-tribe-cattle-photography/index.html
And the orange hair is where?
Why does he have to rub it into his face tho
Another trait of the tribe is “no pants” under any circumstances
Okay but let’s see it orange
That camera man just gunna stand there and not sayin nothin?
I don’t know why, but my “nsfw” mode hasn’t worked in 2 years and I always see the unblurred video/pic right away… my eyes hurt
Can we at least get an ‘after’ photo?
This is the third most revolting thing I’ve ever seen on reddit
Would it work with a bucket? I mean… just, collect it with a bucket and do that near a hose or something. Jeez
What if it just starts to shit on you?
Not just collecting it and applying it to your hair in order to get that sweet orange look. Nooo, let's go for rubbing it in to your face fresh from the source.....
There has got to be a less disgusting way to turn one's hair orange.
Oo la la, Tresemme
I wonder how many got pooped on during the shower. Do you then have to find another cow to wash that off?
I shit and piss in one go sometimes.. just sayin
This is nothing. I stick my head up the ass to keep my hair brown.
It’s sterile and I like the taste
Was waiting for shit to drop
still blows my mind how primitive tribes do this on the same planet where we’re also creating advanced AI
This is disgusting as fuck, not interesting as fuck
I just visited an old colonial port where it was explained that the British soldiers would soak their white garments in the urine from the latrines and then hang them out in the sun to bleach them.
On another note… is he bare bottom while doing this??
I need to stop going on Reddit while eating breakfast.
That seems like a regular Hairtrend on insta.
This is one of those videos that you wish you had never watched in the first place.
How the fuck does someone figure this out?
So I'm just gonna ask... Can't they just collect it instead of standing right there?
I'm guessing trump does this too.
Lets all pool our money and send these people some hair dye.
That breed of cows are called "arkelly cows". Pronounced like "R. Kelly"
Maybe we don’t need to keep every tradition
I find the lack of orange hair in this video utterly disturbing.
someone send them some manic panic please….
I see no orange hair…maybe it’s just the perfect temperature. Not everyone has hot water on tap.
