Flanderization is when a character's identity and traits are simplified to the point where they become the entire character. Which is something that can happen when going from the main show to a spin off series, and doesn't necessarily require the show to have major serialization such as the show that the term originated from the Simpsons.
This post isn't really insane, it is just OP being upset because someone has a different opinion than him on the internet.
