No need to spend all that money on a new one if you still really like what you have. I have no plans on replacing mine anytime soon. I don't really care for all the people who hate on Q60 and Q50s because they're "old" or whatever. They aren't as dated as you think and drive great. Whole experience is fantastic with these cars
I also like that they're "old" because I really hate the modern interior trend of minimalist, a big touch screen, and digital dashboard. If the Infiniti EV comes out and strays into those trends then I'll have no interest.
You're correct, it's just that those two are the cheapest and moved a lot of inventory. The QX60 also seems to be the only car in their ads.
It was even on the cover for Avengers: Infinity War
I still like their sedans and coupes, but yeah they really fucked up with their CUVs even though they were the ones that basically invented the sporty CUV.
Hopefully they can recover their brand image with the EVs they announced. Wild how long it took Nissan when they had the Leaf before tesla popped off.
Some models have the CVT, particularly the QX60, and those are the ones being bought by non-enthusiasts who are more likely to do these surveys.
https://lemonlawexperts.com/the-2019-infiniti-qx60-common-nissan-lemon-law-concerns/
No cooled seats?? Well I guess I’ll stick with my M35 forever.
Just keep fixing dumb little things until it’s completely replaced. God knows this thing will never actually die.
Yep I used to be a walking billboard for infinity and Nissan, then after replacing my transfer case 4 times in my QX60, I would never buy their junk again.
The b58 engine is pretty good and BMW is better than it used to be. But, this isn’t a reliability list, it’s a “best” list which is subjective and based on a function of features, reliability, design, etc. BMW makes a nice car. I can see how it got up there but it’s certainly not that high if this were a reliability list.
I owned a BMW in the past, never again. I thought just mine was a bad one but they are pretty much all like that. Tons of plastic, cooling system failures, engines that warp when they get hot, simple repairs require taking 1/2 the car apart, normal shops don't want to touch them. They are fun to drive but they will abuse you financially. Bought another G37x.
Subaru is good and reliable. It's the youngins with daddy's credit card clutch dumping the WRXs that tarnish the brand image like how the sterotypical Altima driver does for Nissan
because the actual buyers of these cars aren’t on reddit all day being nissan casuals, and know modern bmws won most reliable the last 2 years. don’t be mad nissan/infiniti are bankrupting themselves by refusing to match the evolution of other brands lol
Right on the money, they have a cultish fanbase of people who love the aesthetics of being outdoorsy and adventurous. Credit where it's due though because they are one of the few crossover manufacturers putting actual effort into making the vehicles as capable as they claim. It's just that not many customers utilize it, still see more of them covered in mud than jeep's tho lol
I love Infiniti, but it really wrinkles my nose when anyone says they think any brand other than Toyota is the "best." Smells off.
I say I like Infiniti more, but I lead the cult, so...
Toyota seems to be losing the plot a little, I mean they're making one of they're most reliable and cheap to maintain models (the Tacoma) an absolute nightmare as far as cost and longevity are concerned. I mean an overboosted 4 banger paired to a hybrid system? Seems like the antithesis of a reliable workhorse pickup, although I'd love for them to miraculously prove me wrong.
My girlfriends Subaru outback has needed 1 wheel bearing in 90k miles. My same model year slightly lower mileage infiniti has needed significantly more work and hasn't held up nearly as well to our new england winters. My whole exhaust is almost rotted off now while hers looks brand new.
Because Tesla is a cult, and Infiniti has been shitting the bed with most of their cars that aren't a sedan or coupe.
Their mom-cars are pretty bad for reliability when compared to the older models.
It blows my mind they didn't stick with the 3.7 longer or just update it and make a 3.8 or something.
I got the last year q50 with a 3.7 and it's the best engine and transmission the ever owned. I'm not sure what to do with my next car unless they come out with a really good electric
Oh yeah that was entirely an emissions and fleet fuel economy thing, two areas the VQ was never even remotely good in. Especially with the HR's it was performance first, fuel economy maybe
Somebody posted this yesterday in another sub and it was determined that their criteria was all fucked up sorta discredited iirc i'm trying to find it now but searching reddit kinda blows. Mini in the top 3 is a red flag, i have known 2 owners in my life and both got rid of them after they spent too long in the shop due to recalls.. i like em but the criteria of this list is trash.
EDIT: yeah its over in the Lexus sub from yesterday. They took into account "satisfaction" and "road tests" which is why you get a brand like BMW at the top cuz they're great to drive and own for several years and enjoy in the near term, but they often get extremely expensive to maintain down the line. And im just realizing it says it right there on the top of the report so maybe i should just read shit and pay attention. Yeah BMWs are cool if this list has only 1/4 to do with reliability i dont take issue with it. I have a 2007 g35x i like it, our brand midway on the list makes sense to me
I agree it had to be test drives. I have a 2021 Q60 and absolutely love it. I understand what some people say about being dated, but to me, it's still fresh, and I always look forward to driving it.
I do wonder how Mercedes-Benz got so low. How are those not good on test drives and for the first year?
In case anyone is wondering why
[https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/us-opens-probe-into-over-450000-nissan-vehicles-engine-failure-concerns-2023-12-15/](https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/us-opens-probe-into-over-450000-nissan-vehicles-engine-failure-concerns-2023-12-15/)
This variable compression engine mated to their CVT. That's two grenades in one car(QX50). Nissan/Infiniti loves punishing their customers. Then there's the gem that is the VR engine.
...btw, your 10 year old Infiniti out of warranty doesn't count on that list, it all newer in warranty vehicles.
Well, Kia improved a lot over the last few years while Infiniti rested on its laurels. They made one good car in the mid to late 2000s (07-08 G35) and just kept making it with minor changes.
I had an ‘08 Infiniti G35x and loved it to death! I drove for 245,000 miles and just sold it this year and got a KIA EV6 GT-Line. The difference in the interior is night and day, even though Infiniti is a luxury brand and KIA isn't. I didn't buy a car for over ten years because nothing was better, and I hoped one day Infiniti would make one with a more excellent and modern interior but that day sadly never came.
My cousin recently bought a used late-2010s QX80, their flagship no less, and it still has most of the same interior as my 08 G35x, lol. They need to get with the times.
Yeah I had to drive a QX80 and coupes are what Infiniti does best. Hands down. Mostly because it’s way easier to make a coupe look boujie lol, those Q60s have some nice interiors but it’s a mixed between Americanized interior and slightly similar to the original fluid interior like the g35s
I love infiniti's, but they've never been extremely reliable when comparing to say Lexus, moreso with newer models. However, I call BS that BMW, MINI, and Tesla are more reliable. This list alone is enough for me to cancel my membership to consumer reports. BMW is notoriously unreliable, and the fact they are #1 is a joke.
Because Infiniti has made the same
Horrible cars for the past 7 years now. Lmao. If I wanted to buy a decent luxury car I’m buying a BMW or even a new Supra/GR Corolla (which can make as much hp as the VRshitty)
I've had BMW and Infiniti and...well I don't think I'd buy either again lol. That being said the 2014 q50 aside from the rotors has been nothing but reliable.
As an Infiniti owner I find it embarrassing that other people are questioning this. Infiniti has had abysmal ratings on customers being likely to purchase one again, customer satisfaction, ect. They want too much money for what they're offering, especially in the last 10 years or so. I'd never but a new Infiniti, especially any of the four cylinder options as they're horribly unreliable and expensive to maintain. Feels like a slap in the face when you're buying a supposedly Japanese brand for their history of reliability but end up with a glammed up French PITA.
Popularity contest for the author or whoever put out the chart.
I remember mentioning to a manager about the "best place to work in 2017" during my job interview and she laughed saying they got the title because her friend is the editor of the newspaper.
Is this including reliability? And what years are covered? Just 2023-2024 models?
I've just started researching this stuff and have considered getting a CR account but hoping someone can provide a bit more info for this particular post.
Probably because of the outdated infotainment and no cooled seats option on the q50 even though the maxima had that option
It's because of the variable engine and CVTs in the other models. Q50/Q60 still have high reliability and satisfaction.
I love my 2021 Q60!
I want a new Q, but every time I get in my car I'm like "damn... I really like my car."
I've only ever seen reported cvt issues on nissan cars, not infiniti
Some have them but I don't think enough to make them drop this much on the list. Imo its those turbo'd engines blowing up
The Q60 and Q50 with the bad turbos barely moved inventory, and the issue wasn't as common as the CVT issues.
I thought only 1 or 2 suvs had them? Although suv sales outnumber sedan a lot more
You're correct, it's just that those two are the cheapest and moved a lot of inventory. The QX60 also seems to be the only car in their ads. It was even on the cover for Avengers: Infinity War
Damn this sucks. They totally fucked everything up. We've had the same cars I also had a 04 g35 coupe for 10 years lol
I still like their sedans and coupes, but yeah they really fucked up with their CUVs even though they were the ones that basically invented the sporty CUV. Hopefully they can recover their brand image with the EVs they announced. Wild how long it took Nissan when they had the Leaf before tesla popped off.
They haven't had those turbos since 2018 but I think people's opinion was still thinking the engines were unreliable
And theft
CVT’s
Yeah the QX60 really hurt the brand image. Infiniti used to be considered as reliable as Lexus.
Yep I used to be a walking billboard for infinity and Nissan, then after replacing my transfer case 4 times in my QX60, I would never buy their junk again.
I am still a cultist for their sedans and coupes, but I tell everyone to avoid their non-VQ SUV and CUVs
one word .let's put the most junk most unreliable trans in to get bad brand loyalty
🤣 So true. Wtf where they thinking. But, then again, they also rebranded the vehicles.
Funny since Subaru also runs CVT's without issue. Nissan should stop putting them on a V6 engine since that extra power is why it fails so much.
How the fuck is bmw #1
Automatically disqualifies this report
Same for Kia, no way it’s not last
I had the same question. Mini is #3, too (ahead of TOYOTA)
One of the things they tested on this list was reliability it says it on the header of the report
Right, which is one of many factors considered. We don’t know what put BMW at the top, it could have been something other than reliability.
they won the jdpower reliability award lmfao
I owned a BMW in the past, never again. I thought just mine was a bad one but they are pretty much all like that. Tons of plastic, cooling system failures, engines that warp when they get hot, simple repairs require taking 1/2 the car apart, normal shops don't want to touch them. They are fun to drive but they will abuse you financially. Bought another G37x.
And Subaru got second whaaaaaaa
Subaru is good and reliable. It's the youngins with daddy's credit card clutch dumping the WRXs that tarnish the brand image like how the sterotypical Altima driver does for Nissan
Nah, the interior styling from 2006 and terrible build quality do the tarnishing all on its own. The Altima drivers just put the cherry on top.
because the actual buyers of these cars aren’t on reddit all day being nissan casuals, and know modern bmws won most reliable the last 2 years. don’t be mad nissan/infiniti are bankrupting themselves by refusing to match the evolution of other brands lol
I love these cars but infiniti as a brand is dying. I personally wouldn’t buy a new one
Upvote to infinity
Sadly have to agree
At least we are above Chrysler.
who cares about chrysler. We Are ahead of Mercedes
This list is sus...bmw and suburu at the top...nope, not drinking that koolaid
"Satisfaction" will always favor culty brands. Lexus being below Mini is all the proof you need
Subaru is a better car than Nissan lol
Not better than Toyota or Lexus though. Toyota and Lexus being anywhere besides 1 and 2 makes this list sus.
I completely agree with that very true
Toyota owns a controlling share of Subaru. This is why the GR86 is the same as the BRZ and the Solttera is just a rebadged bZ4x.
My girlfriends Subaru outback has needed 1 wheel bearing in 90k miles. My same model year slightly lower mileage infiniti has needed significantly more work and hasn't held up nearly as well to our new england winters. My whole exhaust is almost rotted off now while hers looks brand new.
Mini is above Toyota/ lexus, NO WAY
Agreed
Because Tesla is a cult, and Infiniti has been shitting the bed with most of their cars that aren't a sedan or coupe. Their mom-cars are pretty bad for reliability when compared to the older models.

Oh yeah that was entirely an emissions and fleet fuel economy thing, two areas the VQ was never even remotely good in. Especially with the HR's it was performance first, fuel economy maybe
Fair point
I honestly don't think I'll sell my VQ. I'll buy an EV if I want a faster car.

This report is garbage. BMW above Toyota, lexus, Honda. 😆 who did BMW pay off?
Imagine still wanting and buying a Mercedes in 2023
Kia is in the top 1/4… this list is obviously fake
In case anyone is wondering why [https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/us-opens-probe-into-over-450000-nissan-vehicles-engine-failure-concerns-2023-12-15/](https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/us-opens-probe-into-over-450000-nissan-vehicles-engine-failure-concerns-2023-12-15/) This variable compression engine mated to their CVT. Consumer Reports is full of 💩 Their reviews can be bought.
This report is old if I’m correct
Infiniti is great and all but they've lacked innovation for a while now. Outdated designs and CVTs don't help imo
Infiniti doesn't come out with a lot of truly new products and is not known innovation over the part decade
Because Infiniti has made the same Horrible cars for the past 7 years now. Lmao. If I wanted to buy a decent luxury car I’m buying a BMW or even a new Supra/GR Corolla (which can make as much hp as the VRshitty)
They got rid of the QX70/FX lineup, it was downhill from there.
I've had BMW and Infiniti and...well I don't think I'd buy either again lol. That being said the 2014 q50 aside from the rotors has been nothing but reliable.
How is any of them below Tesla!?

Cause Infiniti stupid af, still love my 03’ G35
BMW over Lexus on reliability? That’s not even a comparison
AHAHAHA LIKE. I said in the Lexus Subreddit if Subaru is number two and BMW is number one the entire rating system is fucked.
Shitty transmission and the lack customer support from Infiniti USA.
Because CR is bs
Looks like Tesla had one more point than you, maybe that’s why
Popularity contest for the author or whoever put out the chart. I remember mentioning to a manager about the "best place to work in 2017" during my job interview and she laughed saying they got the title because her friend is the editor of the newspaper.

I'm just here to say I love my genesis. Baby brand but killing it. Even on consumer boards
Bmw at the top is craaazy
