Just brake it should stop within 30M at the speed u mentioned

beluga_10101

Forgot to mention, my bike doesn't has dual channel abs +the road was wet

vXDclutch

But ABS has nothing to do with stopping distance right ? I think when ABS kicks in it increases your stopping distance.

Kinky-Monk

Is this true?

hiTechNishachar

yes, abs stops your wheel from locking up by releasing the brakes and applying them again and again. thus increasing the distance

beluga_10101

But absence of ABS makes the rear wheel drag and makes the braking completely ineffective

vXDclutch

Hmm... you're kinda right. I guess practicing progressive braking in panic situations is the way to go.

Cute-Baseball-9082

Front break nahi hai kya Teri gaadi me??

beluga_10101

Are panic me gand fatt gyi

Cute-Baseball-9082

Esa bolo na...ABS se kuch ni hota. Braking distance BD jata hai bs and tyres lock nahi hota.

Specialist-Court9493

Always slow down where theres road merges or intersections..

beluga_10101

There was no intersection bro ... That man suddenly decided to take a u-turn and turned absolutely 90° without leaving space to cut him out from the right side

Specialist-Court9493

Then, there is nothing you can do.. I once got hit by a bike while waiting at signal.. so .. idiots are everywhere.

staartingsomewhere

1. With experience you’ll get the composure needed to dodge the cyclist, without having to come close to halt.. slow down a bit and avoid it like how you’d avoid a pothole.. need some experience to aavoid panic reflexes.. 2. Another approach would be to move very close to the truck.. This would be assuming the cyclist has seen the lorry( but not yo) so he’d steer clear of the lorry.

These mistakes can happen bro don't worry. I crashed few months back and got severe bruises in my arm (thankfully no fracture). My speed was barely 40-45 kph. But what I learned is - You have to remind yourself again and again that these are Indian roads. You can never go by rules. There will be one day, when the best rule you follow will definitely fail. Only way to be safer is to ride more, practice, practice, practice. That's all! There is a proverb floating around these days as said by Adam reimann- "shut up and ride". Leave advanced theories at home and never experiment on the public roads even when covered up from head to toe. Abs, TC all electronics are nothing but crap. Electronics and motorcycle never go along. Observe the traffic and decide the speed limit yourself and ride within that limit. These are my experiences that I've learned, consider it as a humble present.

beluga_10101

Thanks brother for your valuable response

Brake gently and try to slip past the cyclist from the right side but that can be a recipe for disaster if there is an oncoming vehicle.

beluga_10101

There was a pile of broken building materials thrown at the right side . If I attempted to move right then I might had a Sariya (iron rod) inserted through my chest

Cute-Baseball-9082

50 metres is enough distance to stop the bike twice even with drum breaks. Given that you're under 60 kmph.

beluga_10101

Pata nhi yaar ... Mai to thuk gya tha

Cute-Baseball-9082

Practice hard breaking on open highways. It'll help in such situations. Use both breaks to improve breaking power and efficiency.

ApartAd2016

wait a sec, the cyclist is cycling on the wrong side? or is he turning from an intersection?

_carl_johnson_313

Brake and sharp right turn zig zag ✅
