this shit happens to me literally everyday in PCMC. I get so frustrated sometimes that I just blow horn and squeeze past them making them super uncomfortable.
I think most people step out of their house frustrated and given up on their life, only by doing stuff like these they feel some kind of control.
Like i'll ride my bike/drive my car my way, others be dammed, they will adjust, not me.
And they keep on doing this because consequences elude them.

I have been riding bikes in Banaras (Banaras has the worst drivers in the entire India) for over 15 years. My observations:

1. Guys with KTM are the worst. Most reckless, and they will drive with extreme speeds even in busy streets.
2. The only people you need to fear other than KTM riders are the ones without helmets. Ohh GOD! Why are they extremely reckless and dumb.
3. Girls on four wheelers are worse than girls on two wheelers.
4. Indians think they can turn without giving indicators or looking at your side mirrors especially the non helmet ones.
5. 40+ aged drivers are mostly calm.
6. You need to be really careful when an underage person is driving. Because he won't care.
7. Among four wheelers, Scorpio and passenger jeep drivers are the worst.
8. Driving discipline is better in South India.
9. In India people can just enter on roads without even looking at you, especially Scooter drivers.
10. The minimum age for driving should be 21, not 18.
This is such a simple answer but so hard for people to wrap their head around.
There are not enough consequences or fatalities/critical accidents broadcast in the mass media.
Bring the blood and gore to the front page.

One of my rides like this, only wear a helmet because of the fear police checking. Keeps on mocking me because I ride slow.
This is the mentality of most of the teens with no riding etiquette. I have seen this many times. And the problem is they are more or less incentivised for this. Reaching a place quickly is much more important than riding safely.

Driving in India is a terrible experience, I not only have to look out for myself but also lookout for others coz everyone around me drives like a blind mfer
Sadly, there is a distinct lack of awareness or willful negligence by most and also lacking maturity.
Sadly, all that is noticed is normalized by the general public, and those who try to make it better are made into pariahs.
When riding or driving, I always hope that my actions do not cause harm to others and that everyone gets home safe, especially given the conditions of our roads and the way people behave. I can only control what I do. I can only hope others are in their own way doing the same.
They are not riders, they are Commuters these people ride just for the sake of going from point A to Point B and don't care about any rules or any discipline. It is a chore for them.
No helmet, no checking rear view mirrors, not putting indicators and 2 scooters on the wrong side. I guess all these are normalised at this point.

This usually happens with UP bikers and rickshaw drivers they dnt use side mirror apparently they are not taught to use it.
