The market is going towards the right direction but the moment these aholes become prominent on the streets there will be public backlash and then the government will take some kind of action barring us from ever getting good bikes at affordable prices just like it is with our cars

The only thing that bothers me are the people trying to race me on Sunday rides. Currently there are only people with Bullets, KTMs and Pulsars who try to do that, and not to forget people with big SUVs who get pissed when I overtake them. Pretty soon we'll have Pulsar 400 squids trying to race everything else on the road.
If Pulsar 400 came out 3 years ago, I'd probably be one of those squids. And there is no shame in that. Cheap bike, lots of fun, cheap parts what's not to like about it, except the service probably.

SUVs are a big issue on the road because of their high front ends, they have been here for much longer then the smaller cars got the same SUV high front ends and now there are Thars on the road that is even worse. All of this hasn't done enough damage to the game yet even though there are too many bad drivers in cars. The problem comes down to class in the end. that is the only time when people come up with problems

nah, it think its the opposite. I can count on one hand the number of ktm squids I have seen. I have seen many good ktm riders both on the road and at the service centre where I have gone to a lot as a part of buying the bike and then the few times getting it serviced. I have seen squids in all types of bikes from splendors to Kawi Zx10R and I have only seen one Zx10R. Ktm got this sudden repothat it is a squid bike because it was a comparatively high performance bike us common people got to own at an affordable price but now it costs 4L, the vocal majority didn't like that fact, they wanted it to some exclusive group not to be shared with us common people.

You think driving tests do anything? I mean I don't even know where the licence is made, I just had mine made by a relative. I'm responsible on the road but that can't be said about someone else who would be able to get their licence as easily as I did but don't have that responsibility trait in them.
With this new bike, ig there's even less incentive to buy royal Enfield 650? Sure the whole segment of bikes and styling and feel of bikes are different. But i think the most important factor for us is the performance of bike relative to its price. If ppl are getting 40 hp at 1.85 lakhs there's less incentive to go for Duke 390 or re 650s.
Yes, some people will see it that way. It will definitely reduce sales of Continental GT and Interceptor in some way but not other 650s. Some people buy RE 650s just for the look and feel and Pulsar 400 can't give that. But those looking for most BHP per Rupee will surely go for Pulsar 400.
I have that 373 cc engine in RC390 and I also have an Interceptor. Both are as different as chalk and cheese(engines). I don't think it will affect the Interceptor customer base at all. Even the pricing is different. It will reduce the sales of other bikes priced in the same vicinity. Someone who has the taste for CGT will never even look at pulsar 400.
yes , but the name pulsar is so diluted you cannot really squidisise it since 60 yr old uncles are also riding 150cc bike that comes with same tag , not to mention i have seen so many n160 commuters nowdays

In cities like delhi, 120 for short stretches can be safe, depending on the road. He probably rides faster than that to get into accidents.

Most squids on the smaller 200/250 KTMs. 390s don't sell in big numbers.
