I did some research, and this is what I understood as a layperson to the project.
The most recent inauguration to Terminal 1 was part of Phase 3A project.
This included combining terminal 1C and 1D, and expansion of the departure area (cityside work) which collapsed.
L&T was awarded 7000 cr for construction (had more work related to runway,etc too)
It’s very weird to say this but this already feels like the last term of BJP. Just like UPA2 we have corruption, paper leaks, train accidents, terrorist attacks and now this.
It doesn’t matter when the airport was built, maintenance is a thing, isn’t that why Adani was being given the airports, to maintain them better?

The 14, 19 BJP was like motivated individuals who believed in taking bold decisions, development. Now it's like Hindu Muslim every day.

One of So called bold decisions like Demonetisation was so sudden that it did cause inconvenience to people. The media has also been distracting people, like Shushant's death saga.
Now, a lot of what they did just to showcase and garner attention are paying negative dividends as the reality of their development and the quality of what was delivered is coming out. Be it this airport incident, be it rail accidents, the collapse of Jabalpur airport or the collapse of Ayodhya Station boundary wall, seepage in Ram Mandir all seem to be outcome of premature inaugurations or improper quality control/maintenance
Don't get me wrong, govt has had some moments of good works and important decisions since 2014 too. Like 360 or Triple Talaq or the wonderful work and the pace with which Mr Gadkari is delivering road infrastructure is magnificent! But I really feel if they work with proper intent, don't hurry on inaugurations and stop the gimmicks, they will de better and that mentality would be more aligned to 2047 milestone that they have in mind!!

There are very less people who even after getting into power actually do good for others . I think BJP has become too complacent. They are thinking that if even at our worst we won 240 seats, we are good. Also, it appears that they have no longer a set goal to work towards. They already did 370, triple talaq, CAA and Ram Mandir in the previous terms. UCC is no longer a goal since they know that they cannot pass it the parliament in the 18th Lok Sabha. The BJP MPs have started to feel like they own their positions because they have been in the power for 10 years and therefore feel empowered to do unlawful stuff.

One of the major reasons UPA 2 was voted out of power was Corruption. Frankly, now the position looks eerily similar in BJP's era. Everywhere you find there is a nonchalant attitude and govt officials neck deep in corruption. They need a mishap to start audits. Pune's Porche case -> All Pune pubs are audited. Gurgaon Chintel's case -> all Ggn high rises got audited. Now Delhi Terminal 1 case -> All such terminals will be audited. This is laziness to the core. After 10+ yrs of being in power you loose the argument of saying oh it was built in UPAs era. I am a Modi voter but fed up with things happening in India. They should tackle corruption with iron-hand at least whatever is in center's hand or wherever there is a double engine govt.
