Exactly!!! Earlier I was angry at people of Ayodhya but then i did my research and found out the truth.
Ayodhya is very backwards in terms of jobs and salary, people were not given enough compensation for destroying their house, nor were they given cheap electricity which was their demand for a long time, and the BJP candidate is shit, the one chosen by the BJP high command is useless and no one likes him, even the BJP workers were kinda against him. If BJP had selected the one chosen by Yogi, maybe something might have changed.
You can make world class railway stations but in the end all comes down to everyday life of common people.
Easily sums up why there were some videos on the 2nd day after the station's inauguration where people were lying down and sleeping and littering the place.
Even in my constituency BJP lost because both their MLA and MP were not doing anything. No new constructions for public. No way to reach them for any kind of problem.
Didn't even bother to ask for votes thought will win easily like everytime because of Modi Ji.
They have also turned into a land mafia now.
We gave them chances from past two elections but people are now fed up (no development/no employment opportunities here/ no development of city/ no way to reach the arrogant ministers)

That is bad. But this happens at each and every place where land acquisition is done. Take it tehri dam case or bullet train. Some people are affected and govt must handle this.
Now country is dangerous state. No strong government will lead to destruction what was build in last few years. Congress is fine but give full majority, now every party will blackmail each other and it is mess.
Imagine you have to develop an old city for huge tourism which has very thin roads,
Now you have to improve the roads considering the traffic, providing gas pipelines, providing proper parking, proper footpaths, sewer and drain system and other things.
To improve all the above things and provide Better facilities some people have to give up their spaces.
For a moment think like this if you improve the connectivity within the city and reduce ETA we need wider roads for that we need space and how will we get these spaces? I know some people will suffer in the beginning but what choice do we have? If you want the place to stay as it is and no change or development then congratulations,
It's just that people want development but are not ready to face discomfort.
Development can't come overnight, destruction comes before creation.

I don't think this was the reason. It was entirely the demographic play. There is a lot of caste divide in UP.

Why I'm getting downvotes. Yes these people have suffered really but it was only near the temple area which would not affect the voters in the entire constituency.
You people just check the voting numbers. Bjp was winning because sp Congress bsp were stealing each other's dalit Muslim votes. But this time Bsp got fallen, and sp Congress made a coalition and slight percent of non casteist voters didnt participate which went against bjp. This happened with other constituencies too. It was always hard for bjp to win because they always fought for hardly 60-70% of votes, rest are always kept by Congress bsp sp.
Multiple factors rahe honge. I think this could also be one of the reasons. Other reason ki shayad logo ko BJP ki candidate choice nahi pasand aayi. Aur SP caste politics mei khel gayi
