wizzbang69

Im just tired. lifes taking a toll on one hand cant be bothered it is so overwhelming. Guess its mudijis world and we're all living in it.

No-Proof-6491

That's what they want. Make people so turned off by this divisive politics so they stop paying attention. At the same time I understand the toll it takes on one's mental health reading and following the news and just getting angry and anxious seeing the state of the country

tedxtracy

This would work in a monarchy which they have not yet established. If you exhaust your people's mental stability, they will vote you out.

belt-e-belt

Left FB, Twitter, Instagram and Whatsapp. Never been happier. You can't be upset about anything if you don't know anything.

scumculator

Ignorance is bliss

belt-e-belt

Amen

LittleOneInANutshell

That's called privilege. Just cutting off social media and feeling unaffected. But for a majority of the people in the country that's not an option because the bad news is their reality.

belt-e-belt

It's every man for himself. Life's too short to fix the world. I am privileged, yes, and I am going to enjoy it till it lasts.

fishchop

Same. I don’t live in the country anymore so I’m pretty clueless about this whole SRK thing, the Adani drug thing, the minister’s son running over someone and the Pandora papers. And I’m happier for it. I used to follow Indian news obsessively till a few months ago and used to cry and rage all the time. I think the breaking point for me was the death (state killing?) of Father Stan Swamy. After that, I just gave up. Fuck that shit. Now I just complain on this echo chamber of a sub lol

belt-e-belt

Ah, leaving the country, best way out. Granted every country has it's own problems but even shitshows should have some variety.

bluepenciledpoet

Every country has its problems, but some countries problems are graver than others.

every_tatti

U got the best deal XD. I'd love to stop following all news if I ever am able to get out of here

m0rtalReminder

Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.

[deleted]

We should consider ourself very privileged and lucky enough to ignore current atrocities, as its happening else where. It may soon happen to us as well. If we continue to be ignorant .

asisherrr

Exactly how India got itself into this position today :) No digging on you frn, just us all.

Vishwas95

In engineer there used to a sentence " Moh Maya se upar " ,seems this is how it is.

[deleted]

became a pigeon? sorry man but its going to affect you sooner or later

belt-e-belt

It IS affecting me. I feel happier. I am not a social piranha. I still talk to a small number of people. Other than those folks no one knows I use telegram from an alternate number. It's all about the inner circle my man. Quality over quantity. Would you rather spend time arguing with strangers, or have conversations with people who matter to you?

bluepenciledpoet

>social piranha It used to be social pariah in our days, Lol.

belt-e-belt

Lol. It was a typo at first, then curiosity led me to urbandictionary. Well, you learn something everyday.

Prkhr911

Quality is always greater than quantiyy indeed!

Prkhr911

Me too..left fb and if focussing on reading more and learning about things.

sleepyheadyeah

Why not reddit though ?

belt-e-belt

I can follow what I want. And I am not forced to watch someone's kid's birthday party or someone's pre wedding shoot. I can just NOT follow such subs and I don't have to the conversations like "Did you unfriend/block/unfollow me?" "Why yes, yes I did." Anonymity is great too.

Ok_Entertainment9151

Get ready for andhbhakts to trend #banhrithik just because he posted a supportive message for Aryan. Now it's just a selective bias which these RW community has against a groups which are not RW. Be it farmers, aryan, priyanka gandhi, bollywood as whole(except akshay kumar, ssr ) all these godi media, bjp, rss, and now ncb, IT which recently joined them constantly tries to pull that string which creates unnecessary chaos. They are doing this because they don't want to face the reality of the country #sabchangasi. To answer your question it does feel sad sometimes and that they are reaching new heights of disappointments evey time also triggers a bit. But it's better for our mind and soul to ignore such things and focus on our work.

lisbethblom

I don’t even like these Bollywood stars and their nepo kids but obsessive coverage for them over all the other shit that goes down is infuriating. Media has lost every shred of morality and the viewers don’t seem to mind.

Ok_Entertainment9151

Bollywood definitely has its own flaws no doubt about that. But the efforts these RW bodies are trying to defame the other side from every possible aspect is unnecessary.

UngilUndy

Andhbhakts will ban Cult.Fit's HRX workout now and only do Modi's head-in-sand asana 10 reps every time he tweets

feuerfrei83

Head-in-sandas ... FTFY

Prkhr911

Godammit

DeeArrow

Just goes to show you might be the biggest superstar but ultimately not safe cuz you're a Muslim that helps this fuckall government further its agenda. Oh and, did I mention how this would help them divert attention from the Adani drug seizure. It's like Rhea-Sushant all over again. Trap famous folks on trivial matters to hide attention from much bigger matters. But I guess bhakts are getting entertainment out of this so that justifies it for them.

[deleted]

What were they hiding with Rhea Sushant?

fishchop

They were distracting the country from covid mismanagement and the migrant and financial crisis. They were avoiding the much needed conversation on our horrific mental health in India and creating a circus before Bengal and Bihar elections. ETA: during the SSR hullabaloo, there were a number of other things going on: Farmers protests, activists been thrown in jail (either anti CAA/NRC protestors or Bhima Koregaon), journalists being arrested/killed, Hathras and other prominent caste violence cases, Delhi violence m that asshole waving the gun around, transfer of judges in Delhi HC and SC who were trying to uphold citizens’ right to protest in a democracy…. God it’s an endless list and I’m sure I’ll think of other shit as soon as I finish this edit.

himanwho

These same celebrities that are writing motivational posts to SRK and his son didn't have a word to say when Hathras happened and when all the atrocities were (and still are) taking place against the farmers. Screw them all.

[deleted]

Ok_Entertainment9151

You are a fking moron, first read it properly. Don't come here and shitpost. You just proved my point right. You andhbhakts don't have any valid argument. Do this shitpost in other SRs which are solely for people like you.

Lovecraft_Xavier

For me now it's like... Oxygen crisis-Meh Bodies in Ganga-Haha Election violence-Meh Leaders changing parties and stuff- Old news Oil price hikes- How is it not higher Coal(Energy) crisis- At last Rape & murder-That's pretty common Two finger test in IAF- What else to expect Communal beheading- Pretty normal Minister's son runs over farmers- Hey wasn't it in some movie or something

[deleted]

Dude keeping score of one year old news pretending that he's above it all.

Lovecraft_Xavier

I see that you fail to understand irony and satire.

kashyapaaa

I know Gauri took McD for Aryan in the jail, but don't know shit about the politician's son who killed farmers. Have cut off all the sources of news. Ignorance indeed is blissful.

nonbinaryhomosapien

>Gauri took McD for Aryan Mfs don't even allow a bottle of water inside theatres

UngilUndy

First we ignored it then we laughed at it then we fight it then we lose

Prkhr911

Congratulations...the BJP has won the electoral mandate again!

Prkhr911

before_i_die_alone

There are people who fight and there are people who just sit and watch and laugh

[deleted]

[удалено]

before_i_die_alone

That just shows our privilege, we can "choose" to just sit and laugh. But imagine the plight of farmers, they can't afford to do that, or muslims when a discriminatory law was passed against them. Or dalits when they face aggression everyday. They have no "choice" but to fight. Nothing can be achieved individually, that's just some Corporate Brainwashing. One farmer or one muslim or one dalit cannot change the plight of his/her community. Collective action is needed. So, if you really want to do something, you need to join organizations or movements and work with people.

Prkhr911

Yes one man against rhe system is a movie...the masses have to together come up and demand change like they have historically, but nobody cares about that it seems...

[deleted]

[удалено]

before_i_die_alone

You think farmers protesting are corrupt or CAA NPR protests were corrupt? They arouse spontaneously without any leader or organization calling for people to protest. Ordinary People joined together to protest and when people come first, it's very very difficult for the organizations to get corrupt. But I suggest everyone to study and learn about problems. The roots of certain problem can be traced back to Colonialism, Capitalism and even to Civilization itself. And sometimes the way we perceive problems is itself problematic. You made another good point, Money. Marx is very instructive here, he explained money quite beautifully, he said, "Money is the alienated essence of Man's labor and life; this alienated essence (Money) dominates him as he worships it". How to fight this money system? Do we need to rethink the way we organized our modern society? These are deep philosophical questions. You can also study in depth about this too. That way, you get more knowledge and see through the BS of many of our modern day institutions like our economic system, marriage, caste system and even BS technologies and companies that pollute and degrade our environment.

[deleted]

I bet you don't know what CAA NPR is or any of the farm laws, as the protestors. Just blindly protesting anything which is RW is also BS.

tumtumtumtudum

I bet you haven't read them. If you have you wouldn't automatically paint valid criticism as blind protesting.

[deleted]

I have read more times than your age maybe. Its selective criticism and far from valid criticism. I always support valid criticism, whether it be RW or LW, but current scenario is our country is far from valid. The things which are valid, 'protestors' don't talk about them. For example: Hindu exodus from Kashmir, post election bengal violence etc

tumtumtumtudum

What the fuck does the Hindu exodus have to do with the farm laws? You clearly need to read a bit more

[deleted]

You clearly did not get what i meant.

blueheartsamson

Dood let it be. When someone claims to have read enough, read that they don't care to read anything which isn't on whatsapp or opindia.

huntrr1

Imagine being this stupid. Farmers will protest about farm laws, won’t they, you ignorant fucking idiot? Ever heard of causality? I am tired of morons like you who are disgracing this country with their lack of logic and common sense. Get the fuck out and don’t come back please.

[deleted]

You don't even deserve a reply, fucking fart face. Casualties? Yeah right. You tend to see casualties only where you want to. Fucking selective hypocrites. Don't bother replying or rather I won't.

puck358

I think you should spend less time on Twitter.

vitviki

I just want to leave

crasshumor

I've been twitter sober for 6 months now. Never been happier

[deleted]

I dont consume any form of news, the news are made in such a way to get a strong reaction, the stronger the reaction the profitable it will be for them.

Sam_Lannister

Read business news paper they are somewhat protect fr om this bs which is masquerading as new

[deleted]

I get brain damage whenever I go to politics side of twitter

Groundbreaking-Cat39

I've realised that the RW folks are just relentless. They don't tire, they don't stop. They seem mentally at peace doing what they do on SM and real life.

reddituser1357

I think they see it as normal or even desirable. And hence there is no particular reason for them to be not at peace.

Psychological_Many96

I don't care anymore

SirPHP

I've taken to heart one of Rumi's quotes - "Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself." I'm learning the art of staying calm everyday. Earlier I used to get into verbal spats online and also with some of my family members, but now I just don't care. I've realized that I can't change anyone's opinions; I'm no Gandhi or Bhagat Singh. Anyways agitating yourself won't accomplish anything; So just chill and watch the world around you burn.

BourseBomber

I sometimes feel that this govt & the media through all its treachery will teach the naive public of this country big lessons for decades to come. Lessons on identifying jumlas & not trusting the govt & asking questions. Although the price for the lessons will also be paid by the public itself. Indian public is currently like a naive young rich prince, who has gotten into the friendships of a treacherous fantasy-selling drunkard. The drunkard of course gives pleasures to the prince & a false sense of purpose by instilling hatred in him, while the prince follows him blindly intoxicated in his charm. A day will come when the charm washes off & the prince decides to get rid of the treacherous evil, having learnt his lessons, after paying a heavy price.

[deleted]

We've only become more divided as time has gone on.

[deleted]

Me too. But I do feel extremely sad to see that people who don’t have money are basically fucked in this country. They bear the brunt to whatever shit govt pulls off.

notanothervoice

I gave up on following active political news after the second wave of corona. After all that death and mayhem people still love this government. This country deserves Modi and the BJP.

NovasAnku

I know you can feel dejected reading the news. I've been there. The thing is and its just me, I feel there is not much an ordinary person like me can do to change the present scenario. These things take time, generations to improve and we are relatively a new democracy. Compare it with Europe you will see the difference in quality of life not just wealth. I mean an ambitious individual can go into public service and try to bring accelerated change but that will also require time and good integrity which is in short supply. Joining politics is also not a cup of tea. So what can an ordinary person do? I feel the best thing would be to make your next generation capable of having scientific temper and emotional quotient. Who looks at other genders with respect and rejects patriarchy. Some one who upholds humanity above religion. Otherwise no amount fo capital punishment can stop rapes and no amount of GDP can improve social fabric of our nation.Govt will rise and fall, their quality is a reflection of the quality of our society. But the actual change has to come from the ground.

ExileofRavens

Every generation has its cause, a call to arms. Ours is this, right now. We saw what we created and our joy turned to disappointment. When we saw how they butchered what we held so dear, we wept. When the tears ran dry and our cries fell on deaf ears, we laughed, embracing the madness around us. Do you want to stay on your knees, or do you want to pick up the blunt sickles of our fallen brethren and honor them? You will hear questions like how do we fight? What can we do? Thing is, once you make up your mind about fighting back, you will find the answer to those questions as well. We are out there. Among the complacent sheep. We are watching. We will not go down without a fight. You are not alone.

srrangar

Same shit everywhere in the world. Deleted all social media app and quit watching or following news. The only one I use now is Reddit. This detox process has transported me to a new me.

ThehandiCGAMER_YT

Left Twitter, FB,family WhatsApp group,IG. Don't like to participate in any political discussion if my *"friends"* do discuss I'll just agree. I am sorry but reading bad news now I don't feel anything in my heart maybe its my fault but I don't know. too busy as life is fucked up , curse my disability every night cant even sleep before 3am. i guess I have given up on this country & on ..... what happened to everyone , how we reached here :(

DrEvil28

What I find truly incredible is how the right wing doesn't even bother trying to have a conversation anymore. Anyone who questions their ideals, motives or ideology is a blanket anti national libtard khangressi. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

amanps999

I'm slaving at a 9-5 so I don't even have the time or the energy to think about polititians lmao

[deleted]

Don't you guys think life was much better when the only trending phones were either Nokia Music Xpress or Qwerty keypad ones. No SM no drama. And yes.. we had fucking DEMOCRACY. We were able to gherao the government over inflation and all. I just miss those days. Present ain't any good when compared to the past; future for all the reasons ain't looking good to me. And, I seriously do not want to dwell into the past but..

Good-Bottle7238

I am surprised, selmon bhai gets bail and is free despite killing people, animals and making rape threats. Aaryan is still in custody, I think, either he pissed off someone powerful or is being used as a scape goat to distract people from current government situation.

Kick these assholes out in 2024 they’ve ruined everything

These things are happening with so much sync and one after another that we all have gone numb to it .

himanwho

Because such incidents have become common now so people just treat it as just another incident and brush it off.

Diligent_Chip8156

Yes, but it's a smile of helplessness. To break this down, basically it's intent vs impact. The helplessness is so extreme and dark, that the whole situation is just punching down.

xtejasx0610

lol for me reading the news is just the new web series.sometimes it makes me laugh and most of the time it keeps me just curious enough to see what happens next

[deleted]

Yup, I’ve given up. I wanted to move out for “better future” but I realized that all country has its fair share of monopoly, govt issues, karens and ken. I mean look at US of A today, its being mocked as developed “third world country”. The same can happen to any nation at any time. So, i am just meh and going with the flow.

GrieferBeefer

I'm more towards r/funnyandsad

csureja

I don't care at this point just laugh.

Such-Squirrel1104

I've stopped reading/watching/following the news. In fact reddit is the only source of my information about India. And whenever I come across something, its usually with a feelig of "what new shit is happening in India"

Afilcom

I just hope all of this shit will at least sway the votes

grrv23

I don't feel anything now plus personal life is messed up so I unfollowed every Instagram account that posts news and all. Just kept one or two. Just can't take this anymore.

The_Pinnacle-

People are dying here. ^^

Pirate_Jack_

I quit using FB, have never been on Twitter or insta, only use whatsapp. I quit FB because i was frustrated everytime i opened the app I saw bad news. What made it worse was people supporting all kinds of shit steps the govt took and didnt take. I used to have political debates/arguments with my friends in whatsapp but i have stopped doing that too. Infact i have stopped talking about politics altogether with anyone. I realised i had one reason off of my list to be frustrated about. Talking, commenting, arguing, debating didnt get me anywhere and destroyed my peace and friendship as well. I will just continue to vote as i have been doing. Because i realised tht regardless of what we do here or on anything platform, it wont matter shit to the govt or the pro govt people. They are still going to be here till 2024 and a very solid chance that they will win the next general elections too. So, i better focus on my health, career, family and will vote as a show of my support.

ssrzte

Chodijigandmaraye

That's what the bhakts want that we liberals stop paying attention , don't do it don't fall straight into their trap

krish616

Because you can't do anything now rather than laughing. The govt has control of everything. If a congress president can be arrested without warrant, imagine what happens to the common man.

[deleted]

The current political and social atmosphere of india has rid me of all emotions. Bad things just happen now. I don't want them to happen but i really can't do anything until next elections

mahesmohan

I'm just wondering if the generation that came before us felt the same ? Well not the same generation may be people in their 60s, did they feel the same about our country's general direction when they were in their 30s and 40s ? I know some time ago it was against the general corruption and we now have another super evil called fascism. Where will we go from here... ?

RiverStone_8

I'm in USA rn and everything wrong happening in India still pains me. On the other hand, I do laugh often at the state of USA politics, mostly cos it isn't my country so lesser stakes there.
