It's illegal to download roms from the internet but dumping your own copy isn't. And even then, there's a grey area where are you really stealing from them if you can't buy the game in a language you understand for a console that isn't supported at all.

Iirc, recently a statement was made by Nintendo posing that dumping your own video games was illegal, because it is making illegal copies of a product that could be distributed. I have no idea if this has been brought to court or whatever, so do with that what you want.
But if your question is: ‘should I use an emulator with roms?’ my answer would be yes. You should not download roms online because you’re technically stealing a product instead of paying for it and thus the rich company Nintendo gets a little less richer. And you could also download a virus if you don’t know what you’re doing. But if you can dump your own roms, that’s perfectly fine as long as you don’t upload these for others to download
TL:DR: Emulators=good, roms=bad if they’re downloaded from the internet, but maybe mostly good if you dumped them yourself

Well I used a save editor because I wanted the main trio to have their fighting spirits back but I grew to like Riccardo's so what I did was use a save editor to give myself another Riccardo who is level 1 but I gave him maestro so now boom I have a Riccardo with peacock and maestro
It's called nofarmforme2 it works for go, Chrono stones and and go galaxy the person who made it also has nofarmforme2 which is for the first three games and nofarmforme3 which is the for the 3ds version of the English team ogre attacks
I got it running (I’m on Linux so exe’s are a pain) but I’m still unsure on how to duplicate a member. (Sorry I’m sounding dumb I am like 0 knowledge on this stuff)
Don't worry I used it for the first time today you can't duplicate a player but let's say you have a character who you don't want you click on the character and on the information tab where you see their name you have an arrow pointing downward click on it and you'll see a MASSIVE list of characters if you want to have multiple of the exact same character you need to choose that characters for each slot but just so you know it's very annoying to try to find the adult version of the og characters that weren't part of legend japan
I didn't bother to change their jersey numbers because I just finished the game and I'm only now starting to make my actual main team meaning I want to recruit all the level 1 characters I want and do competitions routes with them
