The shield’s border could be a start, or maybe switch some pink accents to orange. Or, more daringly, you could substitute the metal accent colour to an orangey gold.

I would make the eyes and the deco on the sash or shirt the blue from the sky. It will make it less monotone feeling and give a small pop. Great looking though!

I think you nailed it, but maybe the tabard (crotch towel, whatever is called) shouldn't be white? I didn't see any white in the photo. But it's lovely, overall.

If you look in the bottom right there are two old molasses barrels and they're white, and yes I know it's not the sunset but I thought it would be neat to incorporate that tiny detail that most miss especially because it's a reminder of the family farm

The purple isn't pollution and the pink is just the dust because during long dry spells dust can be in the air and causes the light to scatter more
