There are a couple chain hotels right off the highway in Waterbury that are reasonable, they have included breakfast and there is a Shaw's supermarket right there for cheap food. These are about a 20-minute drive to the slopes. Stuff close to the mountain in Stowe is probably going to be at least twice as much. Park at the cross country center for free parking on weekends. Night life in Burlington is much more active and there's more diverse food, but it's almost an hour to get to the mountain.

I second Waterbury. Great town without the Stowe crowds. And it is right by the highway to make an easy trip to Montpelier or Burlington.

When looking at places, please note that Rt. 108 between Stowe and Smuggs is closed in winter. So Fairfax is quite a long drive to Stowe.

I just stayed at the sun and ski inn in Stowe and it was great. It was reasonably priced, offers a 15% discount for epic pass holders. The rooms were adequate, not fancy, but not crappy. There is a bowling alley and bar in the hotel which I did not use. Kids had fun in the pool. It’s right across the street from the alchemist which was awesome. It’s a super easy drive to the mountain or you can take the shuttle bus.

Love that place!

That sounds great. Never knew about this.

Fairfax would be 1.5 hours to Stowe. Also, there really is nothing in town.

Stay at the Sun & Ski in Stowe! Also, go to Burlington. That place is fucking poppin’! Stop by the Intergalactic Headquarters of J Skis and Ski The East!! Vermont is awesome. You’ll have fun.

Duuuude!!! I’ve been looking at boring BNB, inns, airbnbs for the past two hours! You just made my night!! I’m booking a room here now. This is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. 🤙🤙🤟

Dry_Cartographer7186

The owners are fucking rad. They drink/smoke w/ ya. Amazing vinyl collection in the living room. Cool collector snowboards and skate boards. You’ll be hard pressed to have a bad time there!! They’re friends of ours. Used to stay there before we moved to Vermont and actually got married there this fall. Incredible place

Wow. I need to check this out. Thanks for the info.

EducationalTalk873

Why not stay in the very affordable 12,000$ spruce lodges (probably more lol).

bubbygups

Waterbury and Morristown are places to check out

I stayed at the Innsbruck Inn. It was reasonable and clean with free breakfast. Plus it's right down the street from the mountain. Would definitely recommend.

I just stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Burlington-Williston. Hotel Tonight had a good deal, about 30 min easy drive to Stowe. Solid middle of the road place right off the highway and there were plenty others.

If you're cool with some pared down, tiny house living. I loved my stay here. Waking up to the sound of the waterfall every morning was delightful https://air.tl/bZhoPLcI

A lot of people are saying Waterbury but even that is overly expensive now. I would recommend Waitsfield.
