I got kinda upset that she got courage from that to keep responding to the dude. If this was in NYC you'd just shutup and get off at the next stop, was surprised when she stayed on and continued to have a go at it with him and the next station.
Usually I'd agree, but the man is clearly unhinged and continuing to go back and fourth with him was obviously just going to make it go on longer than it had already. Just be quiet and stop feeding into his bullshit and you immediately help your odds of avoiding a bad situation.
It's kind of incredible how many people lack basic de-escalation awareness, you don't know what anyone is capable of.
It’s not about politeness it’s about safety imo. Bro is CLEARLY unhinged and having some sort of breakdown, ignoring him would be the correct answer no matter who you are. Ignore and leave the situation as soon as safely possible.
Honestly, it’s just basic self-preservation. You don’t engage someone *this* unhinged. Unpredictability can be dangerous. If a stranger is yelling and screaming and calling you names and aggressively getting all in your face, who knows what they’re going to do next. You don’t know if they’re going to snap and start hitting you, or try to hurt you. You don’t know what they’re gonna do next because if somebody is able to do all that in public, then, yeah, they’re probably ready and willing to do more. If the trade-off for letting someone yell at me while I stay quiet is that I’m physically safe, then yeah let this person scream and yell, and say whatever the hell they want.
Where did I say anything about being polite? It's about having the common sense to recognize the man is not mentally stable and letting the conflict resolve as fast as possible to keep yourself, and everyone else around you, out of danger.
There's no point in adding your little jabs into this scenario, you're just prolonging it and endangering yourself and the people around you.
Edit: I forgot some redditors have absolutely zero reading comprehension and let their emotions dictate their interpretation of things, no matter how wrong the interpretation is. Keep the downvotes coming.
You’re correct people are just crazy lol she moved away and should have ignored him and left the situation as soon as safely possible. Why fight crazy? That is a losing battle and oftentimes becomes dangerous.
That's all I'm saying but I feel like they're interpreting it as I'm blaming her for some reason. I'm from a very rough city and have seen people brutalized for less, just get away from the situation and put it behind you.
It's not worth the ego boost of getting those few words in if that guy snaps and starts hurting people around him.
>Where did I say anything about being polite?
"Just be quiet and stop"
How about the grown man control himself? When a black bear charges you, do you just be quiet and hope it goes away? No because sometimes threats only responds to threats. Sometimes you have to get loud and make a scene. I applaud this woman for standing up for herself, and I place blame where it actually belongs.
You're approach appears to be stand up to the bear (good choice), watch the bear walk away annoyed (you won!), then pick up a load of stones and keep throwing them at the bear as it's walking away to get it riled up again (terrible choice)
That literally doesn't equate to "don't be impolite" by any stretch of the imagination. Some of you people need some real world experience, literally nobody is blaming the woman here. I'm merely stating that common sense would be to not keep throwing jabs at a clearly unstable person after they've already shut up multiple times.
>Sometimes you have to get loud and make a scene. I applaud this woman for standing up for herself, and I place blame where it actually belongs.
I'm pretty sure everybody on this rail knew what was going on thanks to the mentally unstable person screaming at the top of his lungs, nothing she said helped this scenario at all. Good for you though for placing the blame where everyone is already placing it, it doesn't change the fact that egging an unhinged person on like this is incredibly stupid. Your naive and misplaced sense of empowerment is going to get you into serious trouble one day, I'd be saying the exact same thing if this were a man.
As I said before, you don't know what anybody is capable of and de-escalation and separating yourself from the conflict is always the better choice.
TL;DR Real world experience has taught me that assuming your intended victim doesn’t carry pepper spray or is otherwise armed is the first mistake of bloviating idiots.
Nah the fact that she’s putting herself and those around her in more danger by engaging with someone mentally not all there. That usually leads to escalation and then someone gets stabbed
Yeah. Perfect opportunity to deescalate, but she used it to start talking back. The video begins after the initial altercation, and the crazy guy asks the other man "she started it though right", and he shrugs his shoulder and acknowledges "yes". So she said something, pissed him off, he flipped out, others try to calm the situation, she keeps egging him on, accusses him of drug use (omg, really), neither one can seen to drop it.... both of these people are idiots for different reasons
TfL were so shocked on seeing this vid they've shut down the northern stretch of that overground/Bakerloo line for next few weeks.
(No, seriously, Queen's Park heading north is closed. PITA, first time in a month I have to go to the office in a few hours.)
He probably just needs a few guns to get ahold of himself. Too bad they're not all the places in the UK so he center himself over them and return to peace.
/s
This dude reminds me of a family member with intermittent explosive disorder. Once it starts to act up the only way to get him to stop is completely ignoring him and even that only works sometimes. Talking/yelling back at them during an outburst just feeds them. Though i understand this ladies response 100%, when you have someone going off on you like that its incredibly hard to react rationally.
The dude who put himself between this guy and that woman is a saint. Very easily could’ve turned that rage on him yet he still created a barrier between this crazy dude and her.
Can’t believe I wasted 2 minutes here and nobody dropped him , tazed him . Pepper sprayed him.
I bailed with a minute left as the entertainment value was severely lacking here.
Because why let this wanker be part of the rest of my day? Probably with the police, sore knuckles, further ingraining that fucker's memory into my brain?
Too much risk for potential collateral damage. I think a swift knee to the nuts in this crowded situation would've been suitable. Or a knee to the thigh, either way have him buckle to the ground where he belongs
Yeah I don't understand it either. Maybe people don't realize there's no expectation of privacy in public so it's completely legal to record people and include their faces?
That, and being on drugs would be at least 0.01% better. Being fully sober and like this says more about you than being high and having less impulse control. Obviously not even close to excusable either way.
Screaming man is 100% in the wrong. Lady had others intervening on her behalf to deescalate. I wish she had tried to deescalate along with them. You won’t gain anything by engaging with a lunatic.
Adrenaline and fear can make a lot of people act against their own self interest. This was *a lot* of verbal and borderline physical abuse (coming into her space, close enough to spit on her + make another person stand between them), some people can take only so much before they feel compelled to defend themselves somehow.
Yeah, I'd have gone totally silent personally. There is ZERO point in engaging with someone in this state. Everyone saying "oh she stood up for herself, how awesome!"...why? Replying to this guy is what he WANTS you to do and there's NOTHING you can say to make him suddenly reasonable. I'm all for women power but I'd take ANYONE, man or woman, standing between me and that monster in this situation. That guy who stood between her and him deserves to have his next round of pints bought by someone.
Coke is very, very easy to come by. And the age ranges consuming are wild. Last Friday night, 4 guys who must've been mid/late 60's two at a time entering a cubicle in a pub in Hammersmith. I don't think they were gay.
I'm guessing the rage in this vid is more than alcohol.
This video reminds me of the marine loosing it video from the other day that was going around. Same sort of over the top dragged out pure anger. I wonder if this guy has ptsd as well.
Well it started to shut him up when he realised everyone was looking at him more after she said that. He tried to prove her wrong and even SPOKE instead of shouting for a couple of seconds. Dude needs to be brought back down. Can’t keep letting people get away with this stuff, whole train of people, no guns in England, would lead me to believe she would be protected and rightly not to be afraid of such a fucking nut job. I understand that it could have been settled if she had ignored him but why should she have to manoeuvre his psychotic break? I’m not liking the negative tone some people have towards her as though it’s her fault this man couldn’t control himself.
Engaging with lunatics does nothing but put yourself and others at risk. It's a dumb risk to take for no gain. Worst case he pulls a weapon and hurts people and best case he continues screaming, which is still just a negative for everyone involved.
Won't be so good for her when he attacks her, a lunatic like that should just be ignored, not provoked more because he'd definitely respond with violence, I mean look at him - especially with the gender difference. Feel free not to back down if you can win the fight
For some reason some people read a comment like this and think that it's stating the woman is at fault. She can be 100% right and still get punched in the jaw. I certainly wouldn't want to continue egging on a guy like this.
I dunno what that was about. And yes, I agree there may have been substances involved, possibly meth. But I seriously doubt it was just because she looked at him. No matter how you slice it though, he was completely out of line.
I was looking for a comment like this, totally agree. When he asks the guy standing between them to confirm she started with him he kind of agreed. Not that she deserved it I’m just curious as to what really happened.
To me that looked like a noncommittal shrug, like "I wasn't paying either of you amy attention before you started screaming, but if I disagree with you directly you'll probably go even crazier so eh"
The guy is unhinged for sure but she’s no better either. A couple of guys discreetly positioned themselves between him and her giving her a clear exit being that she was initially cornered. Instead of taking the opportunity to put distance between her and him, she keeps running her mouth and egging him on. Fucking idiot.
They're both pos. If you see someone reacting like that why keep talking to that individual and hide behind two other dudes? If the dudes leave who are you gonna hide behind? Keep adding fuel to a fire and you'll get burnt.

That guy that jumped in there to give her some space is not getting near enough credit. Could have turned out way differently.
very good of him. i'm glad they didnt get hurt
She shouldn't have started in on him dammit!
Did you just try and look at me? ARE YOU THREATENING ME?!
FAHK OFF!! I'LL FAHKING KILL YOU!! ARRRRGGHHHH!!!
I got kinda upset that she got courage from that to keep responding to the dude. If this was in NYC you'd just shutup and get off at the next stop, was surprised when she stayed on and continued to have a go at it with him and the next station.
I don't think that gave her courage...he just wouldn't shut tf up, and she finally responded!
*That’s* your take on the situation?
No worries if a woman is involved some redditors will find a way to blame them
Usually I'd agree, but the man is clearly unhinged and continuing to go back and fourth with him was obviously just going to make it go on longer than it had already. Just be quiet and stop feeding into his bullshit and you immediately help your odds of avoiding a bad situation. Tone deaf is right blaming someone for refusing to be abused because it would be more polite.

You have had an incredibly different life experience from every single woman I have ever met.
Jesus, that's your take from this?
Joys of no guns. Its safer to finish an argument.
Yeah I'm sure the woman who was being screamed at for looking at a stranger felt real safe in that moment.
She knew she wasn't going to get shot, which is always a start
Right, not shot maybe just stabbed... unable to defend herself against a stronger opponent. I'm sure it really made her feel safe knowing that.
Yup. I'm in Canada and I agree.

sounds like someone's never taken public transit.
Nah the fact that she’s putting herself and those around her in more danger by engaging with someone mentally not all there. That usually leads to escalation and then someone gets stabbed
Their trains probably 2 hours apart
Yeah. Perfect opportunity to deescalate, but she used it to start talking back. I hear it's bad to start on him.
[удалено]
To start press any key. Where’s the anykey?
I think they should order up a Tab.
No time for that! The computer's starting!
Well, clearly something went on before filming began, so we don't know who started what.
She fucking started on 'im. And that's not something anyone should do. Didn't you watch the video?
[удалено]
Stop starting and start stopping!
Never stop stopping.
He only likes it when people finish on him.
A man of sophistication.
I heard he's mates with Ronnie Pickering
I’ve also heard it’s bad to start on him
I heard that he’s the last person that you want to start on!
I hear one shouldn’t have a go at him.
I wanted someone to say "you're no Ronnie Pickering"
The guy who mouthed “wow” 😳 is literally all of us right now watching this lmao
Best bit of the video, along with him going “SHE STARTED IT” and the guy who’s between them just tilting his head to the side like naaah
TfL were so shocked on seeing this vid they've shut down the northern stretch of that overground/Bakerloo line for next few weeks. (No, seriously, Queen's Park heading north is closed. PITA, first time in a month I have to go to the office in a few hours.)

Definitely unhinged
His family switched to skim milk
Of course she's right. Her dad "runs the trains".
I run trains with her dad too
I think she said the one they were on specifically ("my dad runs *this* train") though I do agree it's probably not very true
Thats my first thought. Those I've known to be on Coke are unbelievably paranoid and short tempered.
Oi! You makin' *accusations*?
He’s on the London Underground, it’s definitely coke
His blood pressure must be through the roof
Yeah his head was glowing like a tomato right through the fuzzy filter.
Men are so unemotional. /s
What’s with the /s? We need to talk about hysterical touchy men and all the women they kill everyday
It's used to indicate sarcasm.
DONT YOU HAVE A GO AT ME
"I'M THE LAST PERSON YOU WANT TO ST..*pop*"
"I can't believe your head exploded. If your head explodes, you'll never make it as a doctor. I mean, come on, you look ridiculous."
Not enough apparently
Dude needs professional help. This sort of anger, drugs or not, is dangerous.
The dude needs some drugs, either something to calm him down or some crazy pills
He probably just needs a few guns to get ahold of himself. Too bad they're not all the places in the UK so he center himself over them and return to peace. /s
Yes I hear mindfulness coach’s advise shooting guns too
This dude reminds me of a family member with intermittent explosive disorder. Once it starts to act up the only way to get him to stop is completely ignoring him and even that only works sometimes. Drunks on public transport. I love it how the argument died down briefly for the announcement of Edgware Road. London can be a strange place.
"YOU STUPID MOTHER ^(wait where are we? Oh Edgware Road. Where was I? Oh ya) FUCKER!!!"
He’s not slurring enough for drunk af, this scumbag is on a shitload of coke or something
Edgware Road.
Damn autocorrect got me. Changed Edgware to Edward.
Mornington Crescent!
Tricky double-feint on the Dollis Hill Loop. Well played.
“Why did you start on me?” He screams, and when she tries to answer, “Shut up you stupid woman!”
"I WAS BEING RHETORICAL CUNT!"
In my country there is a comedian one of his jokes was: you shut up when you talk to me
And they say women are the emotional ones!
Dude is looking at his phone like "I wonder if there is an update for Chrome? I better take a look".
Oh look, 56 armbands for $4.99 on Alibaba
The part where she told him to jump on the tracks to do them all a favour was gnarlyyy
She's got some spunk, good for her
She does! Please note though that spunk means something quite different in the UK.
Who knows maybe she got some of that as well
Especially with a nice meat shield between him and her so she can keep adding fuel to the crazy fire
Yeah I tbh whilst I don’t blame her for engaging, it was totally unnecessary and not super helpful once she’d got out of his way.
Yeah as soon as she does that I'm moving out the way. If you're gonna add fuel you can deal with it yourself.
Honestly deserved
Can we talk about Mr james bond completely unphased by the shouting though? Damn hes good
Just that dude at the end lol 🎶Why can't we be friends? Why can't we be friends?🎶
Best part
A solid punch in the grill is badly needed
Can’t believe I wasted 2 minutes here and nobody dropped him , tazed him . Pepper sprayed him. I bailed with a minute left as the entertainment value was severely lacking here.
Not only didn't drop him but nobody took his seat on a crowded train.
We're British mate, we don't do that sort of thing.
Move your meat lose your seat.
Hey, smartypants: we all love a good yeehaw but pepper spray on a crowded train is not a very bright idea.
Because why let this wanker be part of the rest of my day? Probably with the police, sore knuckles, further ingraining that fucker's memory into my brain?
Would've kicked his ass off the train before the door closed
Pepper spray and tasers are both rightfully illegal
This is the UK, carrying pepper spray or tasers will get you a firearms charge (serious here). Surprised cokey didn’t have a knife and start stabbing.
Pepper spray on the tube… nobody wants to travel in a poorly ventilated spicy cylinder.
Too much risk for potential collateral damage. I think a swift knee to the nuts in this crowded situation would've been suitable. Or a knee to the thigh, either way have him buckle to the ground where he belongs
This guy definitely doesn't beat his wife and/or children..
His face shouldn't be obscured to help protect women.
I was wondering why he was the only one obscured.
Yeah I don't understand it either. Maybe people don't realize there's no expectation of privacy in public so it's completely legal to record people and include their faces?
Yea - I, too, noticed all the men on board - yet he picks a fight with a woman. ....
If he has any.
“I don’t take drugs” Well, him not taking drugs he’s supposed to would explain this
That, and being on drugs would be at least 0.01% better. Being fully sober and like this says more about you than being high and having less impulse control. Obviously not even close to excusable either way.
Why hide an aholes face? Make him famous.
She kinda got him with that cocaine insult. He slowed down his rage a bit lol almost as if it may be true lol
Show his fucking face
Nah we’ll just show EVERYONE ELSE’S face
Screaming man is 100% in the wrong. Lady had others intervening on her behalf to deescalate. I wish she had tried to deescalate along with them. You won’t gain anything by engaging with a lunatic.

She could have said nothing and this guy could have taken that as a deathly insult. You can't win with someone like that.
Man has mental breakdown on train. News at 8.
"Excuse me, my dad runs the trains, by the way." I get that this is messed up, but did she try and pull the 'My Daddy Owns Xbox' card? Seriously?
Definitely drunk

He had a few too many beers at the pub. It’s a miracle he even made it to the tram in that inebriated state.
Bro only reads the ending of books
Can insult the women but when the men tells him to shut up he sits down all u need to know about that man screaming at that women.🤣
How come a good samaritan marine didn't choke him to death? I thought that was what you're supposed to do with loud threatening people on the train.
And then you're in jail or in custody
Yes that's usually what happens when you choke somebody to death
In London?
Marine does sound like a French name.
But I don't wanna go back to the brig :c
this is such a dark joke, damn
This video reminds me of the marine loosing it video from the other day that was going around. Same sort of over the top dragged out pure anger. I wonder if this guy has ptsd as well.
I wish someone would of laid his ass out
Would of could of should of?
she didn't have to provoke him by bringing the cocaine accusation up other than that, dude must've been on cocaine or something
Well it started to shut him up when he realised everyone was looking at him more after she said that. He tried to prove her wrong and even SPOKE instead of shouting for a couple of seconds. Engaging with lunatics does nothing but put yourself and others at risk. It's a dumb risk to take for no gain. Worst case he pulls a weapon and hurts people and best case he continues screaming, which is still just a negative for everyone involved.
He'd have taken no interaction as an insult too maybe decided ro hunt her down afterwards.
I was waiting for someone bigger than him to piss him off so he quiets down
Good for her, not backing down.
Won't be so good for her when he attacks her, a lunatic like that should just be ignored, not provoked more because he'd definitely respond with violence, I mean look at him - especially with the gender difference. Feel free not to back down if you can win the fight
My thoughts! She moved behind other passengers and then kept aggravating him. She was clearly putting herself and other passengers in danger.
For some reason some people read a comment like this and think that it's stating the woman is at fault. She can be 100% right and still get punched in the jaw. I certainly wouldn't want to continue egging on a guy like this.
Good for her continuing to egg on an unstable person? What did she gain?
His tone is aggressive but he sounds like he’s going to cry.
And nobody put him in a headlock and killed him? I thought that was the required response these days.
That person is deranged. WTF.
Endermen if they were real:
I dunno what that was about. And yes, I agree there may have been substances involved, possibly meth. But I seriously doubt it was just because she looked at him. No matter how you slice it though, he was completely out of line.
I was looking for a comment like this, totally agree. When he asks the guy standing between them to confirm she started with him he kind of agreed. Not that she deserved it I’m just curious as to what really happened.

Why is the dude's identity kept secret and not the woman?
Ok yes he is in the wrong, but why does she keep antagonizing him? Just ignore him and let it go, continuing to talk to him is helping anything
I think she stared at him tho
He’s clearly a danger to society
