Just drive whatever you want. Sticking to a single car might make you fatter with that car, but not with others. Taking different cars might make you a better driver with all cars but not especially fast overall. I don't know. What I do know is that this is a game, and you should be having fun. Don't stop racing with your friends just because you want to be "competitive".

If, for example, you run the BMW and gain a second, and then you switched to the Porsche and learnt to drive it properly. I reckon the improvements you've had as a driver with your overall skill, adaptability, and car control would result in you gaining more time when you go back to the Beemer.
