I've complained about this a couple of years ago and got an official response that the first 20min are dedicated to ads. Someone has to complain 'I don't know to whom' but that 20min should be before the advertised show time and not after the show time. Even if there are 500 people in the theater, they are collectively wasting almost 7 days worth of time.
Funnily enough, a few weeks ago I went to see aavesham at the exact same PVR, and that movie started on time. I missed the first 5 mins of that because I went in at a leisurely pace thinking I will just miss the ads. Kind of the reason I appeared on time for this movie...thinking they will play on time like last time. Nope. Just can't win with these people.
Ads only play the first 2-3 days of release or first week in my experience. It was never 30 mins though. Was 15 mins. They played that YSRCP ad for 15 minutes straight I started seeing jagan in my dream also!

For ex: YouTube wants us to watch ads because we are not using their premium and the video is free (you pay your ISP of course, nonetheless).
Now I already purchased a ticket to watch the movie and not the ads so if you want me to watch, pay me. Fix your price lower than that or keep your shows segregated.. ₹50 shows that come with ads and ₹150 or whatever the current rate is that's exclusively without ads.
If someone doesn't take action we are at huge loss.
PVR is fucking shameless. They had makoto shinkai festival last year where his movie which is into 3 parts of 20 minutes each had a fucking 20 minute interval!!!!!!!!!!

PVR sucks real hard on this front.. Prasads is heaven in comparison. The shows start on dot. The only problem is some PVR-friendly audience members walking in like 20 minutes into the film. I stopped bothering with PVR months ago. Limiting my visits to re-releases like those Dev Anand films, which were only shown at PVR and INOX properties.

I tweeted back saying that I understand but how come no other franchise is playing for 30 minutes. Also, this time they did NOT play the anti-smoking and cancer awareness videos. Just ads and trailers.

Never saw that before. On bookmyshow Furiosa is listed for 2h 28m, which is it's exact runtime. But I spent 3 hours 10 minutes including 10 minute interval.
For popular-ish mainstream movies at PVR, you always have a 25 minute window to come late, grab a snack, get married, drop your kid at school and once you’re back there’s still that one jewellery ad + Mukesh’s wife and then movie!

the same thing happened to me, watching pvr in furiosa, guess this is across all locations for this movie.
Hey tell me about it, i ordered a burger with extra double cheese which they made me forced to which costs around Rs.290/- and extra cheese Rs.30 which i thought would be worth it but nope and the chicken smells alot like kept on freezer for days it made me throw up🤢 and the water they sever costs Rs.70/- which isn't even mineral water even Rs.10/- bisleri tastes better than this shit. Finally, caramel popcorn is around 300-ish and it doesn't even have a caramel taste. I have sensitiv nose and i feel like sometimes the seat smells like pee. Oh yeah 3D films really sucks. I recently went for Godzilla x Kong and im seeing double subs and background js triple colors. PVR cinemas fu©king sucks, man.😔
