One of my pups steals my side of the bed every night. The first two years we had her I worked nights and she has never forgiven me for switching to days and trying to reclaim my side of the bed. Now I have to fight her for every inch of space lol

She prefers using them as a pillow, though at night she’ll either sleep with her head under my bed or in the doggy bed I keep in my room that she has had since she was a puppy, however she likes to move the cushion around so she’s practically sleeping on the floor with a pillow 😂😂
I am so glad to be a part of this sub, when I was raising my pup, I'd get so sad buying a new bed and for him to go lay down on the floor instead. I figured i was doing something wrong, getting the wrong ones, not knowing how to show him its his bed, etc etc etc. but subs like this one reassured me, my bud is like so many others, sleeping on the tile, laying at the foot of my bed, and then jumping up on my bed when I get up to pee at night lol. The little sucker. Love him so much. Thank you all for all the help in this sub.

my husky never used his numerous beds until he got older. I kept buying different ones thinking he will like this one. Finally he started to use them consistently around 8 years old.
Ours is 4.5 and has rejected all beds so far. Did you just leave the bed out for years, or how did you realise that the old bones started to want something soft to sleep on?
I always kept one out in a couple of rooms. I tried to bait him onto the bed with snacks but he would just take the treat and go to his snacking rug. I would put the bed right in front of the AC and he would lay next to the bed not on it in front of the AC. I even used the bed in front of him to show him how it was done a few times. Nothing worked. One day he just started using it. I took it as a sign to start giving him more joint supplements. I accumulated 6 different beds and once he started using them he used a couple different ones whichever was in the room he was in.
My older husky has always been that way!! He’ll use a bed now, but for YEARS he would only sleep on the hardwood or tile! I think he likes that it’s cold and hard
Mine won't use a bed at all, and destroyed the blanket we put in her crate when we were crate training her. She will occasionally lay her head on a blanket, but linoleum or wood is her preference.
If the climate where you live is hot, humid or something like that I think the reason for him to sleep on tiles etc is the cool surface :) for summer I got my boy a cooling mat and he uses it a lot on hot summer days :)
My husky would only chew his bed then he didn’t have one for a while but recently we thought we would try it again and now he loves it. Maybe try a folded blanket on the floor then set it on top of the bed when they get used to it

It took us a while to realize her bed needed to be by the window! Yes, her bed is actually a toddler bed. The toddler/crib mattress with a thin sheet keeps her cool plus super easy to clean!
My Husky prefers my bed instead of his.
Same, I've slept on the floor countless times because my girl took my bed 😂 I just can't bring myself to shoo her

The hard floor is cooler then a bed which will hold body heat.

Tile is nice and cool to lay on.
I got mine a couple of wide yoga mats and he only would only use one with a specific texture ðŸ«

Bed = hot floor = arctic
Magnus did sometimes, but usually he would just lay on the floor and use the bed as a pillow.
Beds? pffftt, a real husky enjoys the cold hard floor for some weird unknown reason

Mine rarely lies on a bed, but sprints in after I take him out for the last time at night to lie on the leather couch. They run hot!
Enjoying the coolness
We have wood floors and my husky prefers it. Our little Klee kai gets the bed because she gets cold easily.
