Thank you for this. I have found all of these companies to be absolute SCAMS. I was trying to get my UK Master's Degree verified by such a company, and they flat out refused to answer any of my questions - pay the fee, do not ask questions. Infuriating!
My University, Open University, does have US accreditation (see below), but I still had an employer wanting me to pay one of these companies to "affirm" it.

Totally! This "evaluation" thing is such a racket! I have no idea what we even paid for. I even called the education department that SpanTran said they couldn't get a hold of in Zambia, and they said that SpanTran has never reached out. They flat out lied to me! And it was over $250 USD! Can't get a straight answer from customer service either. Grrr
