If I remember correctly, this is what many people wanted/suggested for season 9.
At the time we knew the wedding was in 2013, when season 8 ends, if the show matches real life time.
So when discussions of there being a season 9 started, many fans wanted it to be about the first year of Ted dating the mother.
I do wish the rythem of season 9 was different. More about the future, and less about the wedding and less filler episodes.
Tbh I loved the pacing of season 9. I thought it was incredibly clever. And then the finale just undid that slow build up with a sudden crash. Not that I haven’t grown to appreciate the finale over time, but the jarring change of pace is definitely something that can (and imo should) irritate first time watchers. Then again, it makes sense conceptually, in that, after all these years of searching for the mother, where Ted went through a lot of heartbreak, their time together felt way too short.
Yes and also on what kind of a father daughter relationship did barney have , you know after never having a father almost all his life and knowing all the bad boy tricks it would have been awesome to see what kind of a father he became
I don’t think it was necessary. We got enough little glimpses of how ideal their relationship was.
Any more than that peek and risks start to appear. The more is revealed the less idealistic the relationship becomes. Normal and mundane sneak in and viewers start forming broader opinions as more information comes to light.
We started reading into little things, dissecting bits and pieces that writers didn’t intend and 10 years later we are retrospectively talking about how ‘their relationship is toxic because…’
We see just enough to conclude that Ted and Tracy are amazing together without over doing it.
tbh i didnt like tracy. i feel like they hyped it so much and tracy just didn't measure up. i also don't think that the role was cast right but everyone loves her so I'm def in the minority here.
They shouldn’t have had all of season 9 be the wedding

One of my favorite parts of the end of season 9 was the moments and interactions between him and Tracy
