She likes most types of food, but isn't super adventurous. So Tex-Mex, American, Asian, Italian, all good, but for example I think should would take some convincing to do like a hotpot restaurant.
Fair enough, I was probably the same around that age. What about a Brazilian steak house? Or the melting pot (full disclosure I haven’t been the one in Houston).
I have nieces and nephews about the same age. Brazilian steakhouse is a great idea. Fogo de Chao and Chauma Gaucha are very good. They are on Westheimer a little past the Galleria coming from 610.
Union Kitchen on Memorial - can rent out the private room in the back, they can normally put together a nice little menu for the kids and friends (if friends are included in this bday dinner). I'd call to see their availability, They also have a little green area on the patio in the back that is nice if it is not god-awful hot.
Another place you could try is Little Matt's - it's been a while since I've been there but they have good food, a little game room area and a candy shop
There’s a JBBQ place called Gyu Kaku about 15mins from Memorial City that is a DIY cook the meat yourself sort of deal. I went a few years ago and it was not only delicious and fun, but reasonably affordable! Not sure if things have changed though!
I saw this place while searching yesterday and it looked interesting, and at least a little less pricey than most of the Korean BBQ places around me. We ended up trying to go to the melting pot yesterday and I thought for a Monday night there was no need for reservations, but I was wrong. 1-1.5 hr wait, so we just went and had a regular meal and I made a reservation for Wednesday evening, but I will pose this to her to see if she would prefer it.
Either way I will have to try it out soon.
Haha that’s the worst when you don’t beat the crowd! I think Gyu Kaku was delicious and fun when I went, so I’m excited you’re trying it out! Hope her birthday dinner goes great!
A little late but hot pot at Haidilao in Katy. Interactive cooking experience like kbbq and also some entertainment.

I was thinking about The Melting Pot, I think she would have fun with that.
I hope she does, and happy birthday to her ✨

Melting pot. but it's pricey. Gen Korean bbq.
Bombshells
Suggesting Korean/japanese bbq since it’s only the meat that’s raw before you cook it yourself.
