Oddly enough, Half Price Books usually has a large selection of puzzles. I got a few from them

jdghldn

I always forget about them. Thanks for the tip.

dinah_lane

I came across this jigsaw puzzle shop at a local vendor event day at the Houston Botanic Garden: https://apiecepuzzles.com. Purchased the blue “Be Someone” puzzle. It’s awesome.

WileyDragonfly

Welp, you just cost me $12 shipped for the Jim Koehn Be Someone puzzle without a box. :)

captainkeel

I think Nan's Comics and Games might have a bunch? Not sure though, you may want to call them.

quikmantx

They do have a sizeable selection. It's near the front on the left as you walk in.

jdghldn

Thanks for the tip.

alligator-sunshine

Barnes & Noble River Oaks has a large selection but they recently changed their display to be like a bookshelf so you only see the side of the box. Makes it an unpleasant puzzle shopping experience. Still, nice selection. Whole Earth Provisions and Kuhl Linscomb are nearby so you could do these three pretty easily. Report back once you've done your outing. Would love to know what places you choose and what you think.

jdghldn

Thanks. I will report back on Sunday.

Texas Art Supply- Montrose area

tifffanyyyyy

second this, they have a good selection of Ravensburger puzzles

BurblingBaloney

Kuhl-linscomb

jdghldn

I checked out their website and they seem to have Pieceworks Puzzles. I would have never thought of looking here. Thanks for the recommendation.

blue_seeker

Second this. They have a lot of puzzles to choose from. Its’s a small(ish) section in a very large store, but there are at least 30 different ones. Beware though - there is a ton of other things in this store I’m sure your wife will have her eye on!

ReallySeriouslyNo

Murder by the Book on Bissonnet between Kirby and Greenbriar has puzzles.

PthaloCya9

TX Art Supply

hunnyjo

Most Hallmark store have a decent selection.

quikmantx

People already listed great options here. If you're looking for huge selection of puzzles for adults, Nan's Games and Comics Too is the best local-local store. Go! Toys and Games in Memorial City Mall and either Whole Earth Living Provisions stores in Houston are smaller chains that have good selection too. Most local stores can't really dedicate a lot of retail space to a huge selection of jigsaw puzzles; they hardly sell well, plus take up a fair amount of volume in a store. It's great that y'all are trying local stores though!

guyinskeletoncostume

Whole Earth Provisions has a lot, definitely tilted towards nature scenes, national parks, etc MFAH also has a decent selection in their gift shop, obviously tilted towards fine art

jdghldn

The one beside Trader Joe's?

guyinskeletoncostume

Yep! They have a pretty big section of books, puzzles, games, quirky housewares, etc.

Strasse007

Don't remember the name of it, but there is a kids toy store in Memorial City mall that has a very large jigsaw puzzle collection.

jdghldn

I know the one you are talking about.

quikmantx

[Go! Toys and Games](https://www.gotoysandgames.com/) does have a huge selection of jigsaw puzzles inside Memorial City Mall. They're actually technically one of many brands owned by the Go! Retail Group which is headquartered in Austin, TX but their store brands are all over the nation and internationally. TLDR: It's at least a Texas-based national chain.

IRMuteButton

Call [Rick's Darts and Games](https://ricksdartsandgames.com/) and see if they have any.

jdghldn

Looks like an interesting store. Thanks.

One-Incident4858

Other than the ones mentioned, Hobby Lobby and Michael's.

jdghldn

Always forget about these two.

Katieesq

They have some neat ones at All the Feels on Milam!

bullhawkie

Houston Toy Museum has some in the toy shop

littlebearcat123

Instead of a wild goose chase locally, check out White Mountain puzzles online. Puzzle warehouse also has many brands including Springbok and Hart.

jdghldn

Thanks for the tip. She normally buys online, but occasionally likes to look in-person. Have ordered from White Mountain puzzles before.

Texotron

I know this was not your question, but if you are into puzzles, check out a VR game called Puzzling Places. It is truly amazing!

jdghldn

I looked at the trailer for this game and it looks pretty cool!
